  2. For some reason the kings have taken a chapter off the mavericks book and are just trying to outscore everyone else. This also gives Webber someone else to complain about. They got a shooter to take shots away from all their other shooters. I don't know why they would do this trade. This does help the magic who have a horrible defense. The kings probably didn't have the heart to see their player being manhandled by his wife in his upcoming reality show so they shipped him away to avoid embaressement.
  3. A little bit offtopic here, but i just wanted to know if you are allowed to jump while shooting them. I have never seen an nba player do it and i thought it was illegal but someone told me that it in fact it is legal. Can anybody shed some light on this.
  4. i think the timberwolves should just let latrell go and get someone younger like Michael Redd. This is will give them a better future as they get a good young player who will consiently hit his shots when KG is doubled.
  5. Is anybody else concerned about Minnesota. I mean they have been struggling all year and just yesterday they lost to the Bobcats.Yes, the bobcats. I am not sure if they will even reach the playoffs this year. They are only two games above .500. This team was suppossed to win the championship this year. I don't know what's wrong but i think Sprewell and Cassell aren't giving it their all. Maybe, it's because of thier age but it could also be because they aren't happy about their contracts. How many people still think they will win the championship?
  6. Instead of Childress, maybe we should've drafted Rafal Araujo considering the lack of size Atlanta has. He is exactly the type of player you are asking for graymule. He has played a few games for the raptors and has played surprisingly well. I've watched and think he can be good center. He intimidates a lot of people, creates space for his teammates, scores, gets rebounds and gives one hard foul each game. He shoved kobe Bryant a few days ago which caused kobe to go get his shoulder checked by the trainers. The next game he levelled Jason Richardson.
  7. Yeah, i was watching this game and Demarr played great on both ends of the floor. He was playing great defense in A.I in clutchtime, rejecting his shots and was superb on offense. He has been the leading scorer when Carmelo was out. Still, I wouldn't want him here in Atlanta considering all the swingman we have.
  8. I watched the game and Jeff Mcnnis killed you guys. He made shots everytime the hawks came close and attempted to make a charge. If it wasn't for delk 30 foot threes the momentum would've allowed the cavaliers to win by twenty. Also, the refs were just horrible by calling smith's block goaltending and making a lot of questinable calls in the second half.
  9. This is a good trade for the hawks considering kenny anderson's play and the pg problem. This gives Woodson a pg who can defend.
  10. Dampier should only be given a contract on a year to year basis.
  11. i am bored too. there is nothing interesting going on around the league. the only game i've been looking forward to is the heat and lakers game. There are like four good teams and everyone else is mediocre.
  12. This is a good trade for both teams. i watched a lot of raptor games and vince carter wasn't doing anything. He drived like two times a game and clearly his head wasn't in the game. Maybe now with Kidd he can flourish but now NJ has no frontcourt player and and i don't understand why they didn't pay kenyon and now they are willing to trade for a max player like carter who game resembles jeffersons. i think toronto could've gooten a liitle more talent but i think they value the draft picks a lot.
  13. I apologize, i didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings. i'm just saying i think Duncan is better because he has less talent around him than garnett but he still has a better record. He has also won two championships and been the mvp two times.
  14. You would have to stupid to not vote for Duncan. there is no question about it. Dunacn is THE MAN.
  15. You know what i want see now, i want to see an allstar game similar to what they do in the nhl. American players vs international players. that would be great to watch. the argument before was that there aren't enough good international players but now you can have a very good international team. starting lineup could be like steve nash, peja, kirlenko, nowitzki and ming. Bench could made up by- Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Pau Gasol, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Carlos Arroyo.
  16. That was a sick sick dunk. Dwight howard must be having nightmares. Ridiculous dunk but the lakers lost. im loving the nba now considering the lakers are losing so many games. kobe bryant is now learning how hard is it to win games. i hate that punk.
  17. If you should know anything about Curry, it's that he plays no defense. Still, i don't think he would want to come here considering his statement that he is tired of losing.
  18. Deng is playing unbeleivable. Comes of the bench and scores 25. i don't understand why he isn't starting. Also Charlotte got it's first franchise victory beating the Magic.Has anyone been watching Okafor and their starting center Primozoc Brezec this guy is amazing. Scores 15 the first game and 20 today.
  19. i actually don't even find her attractive. I just didn't know the situation and came up with the wrong conclusion.
  20. What Happened? What do you mean by exposed. Exposed as in nakedness or what?
  21. excellent point but i don't know if stephen would sign here.
  22. HA HA, this is funny [censored]. i can't believe carmelo would do something like that. i feel sorry for the media and especially the nba. They built this guy up and made him so popular and now he shows his true side by being disruptive in AThens, dissing Kirilenko, not willing to check back into the game after being criticised by his teamamtes and saying [censored] like he isn't respected after not winning the rookie of the year award. the nba and David stern must be fuming.
  23. Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson spoke with InsideHoops.com and other major media outlets in a teleconference. Here are the questions and answers: Q: What are your thoughts about your old team, the Detroit Pistons, and their chances this year? Woodson: With the additions of (Antonio) McDyess and (Carlos) Delfino and the rookie that they drafted last year (Darko Milicic), I think they have a shot at repeating. They are definitely one of the stronger teams in the East and they know what it takes to probably get back there. A lot is going to have to do with them staying healthy and the new guys gelling with the guys that are returning. Q: Since the Pistons were such a success last year, what facets of the Pistons blueprint do you hope to use when building your new team? Woodson: I think we have to take it a step at a time. With the additions of Antoine Walker and Al Harrington, that is a major plus for our franchise as far as going in the right direction. But we got to add some other pieces with those two guys to even begin to get to level where that Detroit team was. I like my team. I like the additions of Kenny Anderson, Jon Barry and Kevin Willis; three solid veteran guys that have been around and played for teams that have been to the playoffs. So they do have some playoff experience. I do have quite a few young guys that we have to develop and teach what it’s like to be in the NBA on and off the floor, and that may take some time. But it’s not going to be overnight, and I don’t think that the Detroit team was something that happened over night. It was a process that they went through the last three or four years and finally got to the point where they were able to get over the hump and it might take us a year or two to get to that point. Q: What do you think teams will try to do after looking at what the Pistons did to be so successful? Woodson: I think the fact that we did it through a total team effort. We didn’t have a big time superstar. Rasheed Wallace is a big name, but I thought we won a title with 12 guys that just played together on both ends of the floor, particularly the defensive end. And I think teams are going to start looking in that light in terms of trying to build a team. And I’m certainly trying to do that in Atlanta. I really don’t need superstars; I just need 12 guys on the same page that are all striving for the same thing. In doing that hopefully you’ll win your share of games and get in the playoffs. And once you get there anything is possible. Q: What do you need from Al Harrington and Antoine Walker each night in order for this team to be successful? Woodson: Well, they can’t take any nights off. That’s a conversation I’ve had with them after bringing them to Atlanta, that they have to be consistent every night. And that consistency has to filter down among everyone else that plays around them. We still have to add some pieces. We’re not completely there in terms of the kind of team that we want to field and it will probably take another year or two to do that. But the beautiful thing about our franchise is that we do have cap space and money to spend to go after solid players to help those two individuals out. Q: Do you feel that Josh Childress could end up being a major piece? Woodson: I’m taking a strong look at Josh as we speak. He’s been starting for us at the two spot in the first two exhibition games and it’s been a struggle a little bit for him because it is a learning process. I expected that and I just have to help him in some areas in terms of making the game a little more comfortable to him and eventually I think he’ll fit right in. He’s definitely a very bright player with a lot of talent and he’s just going through the rookie blues in terms of trying to learn what this league is all about. Q: Do you think that coaches who spend time as assistants in the NBA before becoming a head coach are better prepared than coaches who come from college, and if so, why? Woodson: Surely coaches who coach at this level, if they do it over a period of time, begin to grow and learn our league. And college coaches coach college. It’s like asking me if I went to the college level, would I be successful there. I don’t know that. I do know I’m a coach. I like to teach. College guys have struggled coming in to our level to coach and I think a lot of it is that they’re not familiar with our game. It’s not that they’re not good coaches. I think the guys that do come in are great coaches, but it is a learning process that goes along with our league to get adjusted to the players and what they’re thinking. It goes both ways. Fortunately this is my ninth season at this level and I finally got the opportunity to coach my own team and I’m very excited about it. Q: What do you think Mike Montgomery’s greatest challenge will be this year? Woodson: Just trying to get 12 guys to be on the same page. That’s no different than college. And also learning our game. He’s put guys around him, his assistants, who have been in this league a few years and have experience that can help him in that regard. A lot of it is dealing with the day-to-day player on and off the field and continuing to teach. He still has to be himself. If he’s a teacher and believes in what he teaches then that’s what he has to get across to his players. Q: With the veteran players and the young players that were drafted, along with Antoine Walker in a contract year and Al Harrington with a year or two left on his contract, is this a situation where you have to balance a lot of different things each day and is there a lot of communication between you and Billy Knight about how to go about things? Woodson: Billy and I are on the same page each and every day in terms of what we are trying to get across. Having Al here, and I know he has two or three years left on his deal and Antoine who will be a free agent after this year, I’m selling these guys on the fact that this is not a short term process and that we’re not looking at these guys that we brought in on a short term lease. Antoine and Al Harrington are two valuable pieces that you can build around over the next five or six years. We do have four young guys that we brought in through the draft that have to learn our league and learn what it’s all about on and off the court. But again, the beauty of or team is the fact that we do have cap space, that we do have money to spend. The next two or three years there will be some quality free agents out there that we can perhaps bring in to build around Antoine and Al Harrington because that’s important. I don’t want to continue to fight this. I think we’ve added two nice pieces and we have to continue to add pieces in order to get where this franchise needs to be.
