  1. Swimming is the most widely watched sport at the Olympics in Australia. We get smashed with non-stop swimming coverage here. I do find it fairly boring though, especially the long distance events. Looking forward to the Boomers taking on the USA in the bball tonight! GO the Aussies!
  2. Yeah, Im bloody stoked. I was considering cancelling my trip over if Smoove didnt get signed, but now its all stations are go. Cant wait to get over there! :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  3. Thanks mate. Great usage of the word housemate, you are now just a bit closer to being an Aussie. :-)
  4. Yeah, you wouldnt want to see any teamwork.
  5. Yeah, he had a shocker of a game. He seemed to fumble the ball often, and they hardly ever went to him in the post, and it was embarrassing when he got stopped by Kidd on that 3 on 1, he seemed to go up softly to try and draw a foul, instead of going in with authority and dunking the ball. He'll get another chance to show himself, I just hope he turns up and puts in a couple of good games. Just a bit disappointing that he had the opportunity to start against USA and he didnt turn up. He'll probably be the first big man off the bench for the Olympics with Bogut coming back.
  6. Replying to my own post here....the schedule will be out later today....
  7. Nique was there for the game...
  8. Yeah CJ Bruton is a decent player, but I think his backup Patrick Mills will end up being a better PG in a few years time.
  9. You're right. Its much tougher to make isolation plays in FIBA ball. Not only is the 3 point line closer, but the whole court is physically smaller, so there is less room to move, plus there is no defensive 3 seconds, so teams can just hang in the key. Also defenders are allowed much more hand-checking of the ball handler.
  10. Go the Aussies! :line dance:
  11. I saw Kareem Abdul-Jabbar when I was at LAX with a basketball tour in 1990. I was with a bunch of other kids about 14 years of age, and we all ended up taking photos of him as he unloaded his luggage from his car....he wasnt too impressed I dont think. He gave me a dirty stare after I took a photo with the flash on. From memory he had skiis, so he was obviously going somewhere with snow. I also saw Wally Szczerbiak walking down the outdoor mall at Brisbane (Australia) with his girl. He was there to play for the US team at the Goodwill Games, and I was there to watch my mate play for Australia. Thats about it for me, we dont get many NBA players down here.
  12. I'm in a similar boat. In the last 5 years I have seen as many Atlanta Dream games as I have seen Atlanta Hawk games on TV. One each. I rely on getting free links through NBA League Pass, or downloading games after they are played from some torrent sites.
  13. hehe, thanks mate! I love the shirt! Thanks to you! :Applause:
  14. I love the Gravy! Glad to have him back.

Yeah I am an openoffice user. I works great, but I do occasionally have problems with it when importing documents that were originally made in Word. You can read it fine, but some parts have issues with editing. Any document that I originally made in OO.o and then opened in Word worked without any issues (as long as you save it in Word format).

Sounds like you are more talking about the operating system than the hardware. You can have PC and have a system that never crashes and never gets viruses. PC does not necessarily equal Windows. I use linux on a Dell Latitude and it is just as safe (if not more) from viruses as OSX, and it doesnt crash. Should an application crash, it doesnt bring the whole OS down with it like Windows does. You can just kill the app and the OS will often keep going.
  17. I love the new forum Dolfan, its great. Im loving all the new options in it, and finding it fairly easy to navigate. Great stuff mate. :Applause:
  18. Yeah, I think Gravy would be a great pickup too. We need the big guy to take up space in the middle. Our LBs are by far the bright spot on defence, so this should free them up so they can really shine. As for the secondary.....  it could be very ugly!
  19. Even though the numbers wouldnt work for that trade, anytrade similar to that is ugly! Talking about a downgrade.
  20. Quote: Depends on the league. In Germany you have to have 3 Germans on the 12 man gameday roster, they don't have to play though. In Russia there is a foreigner limit (I think 5 or 6 are allowed to be on the gameday roster) and a certain number of Russians (I believe 2 or 3) always have to be on the court. Most other leagues (if not all) have some kind of foreigner limit too, but I don't really keep up with it and I don't know if there is still a difference made between European foreigners and non-EU foreigners. Euroleague doesn't have a non-EU foreigner limit anymore. Thanks for that mate. I was wondering if this would have an impact on the number of NBAers that would go across, but looking at those numbers it will have minimal impact. Cheers Rick
  21. Hey BigDirty, Thanks for keeping us updated on the goings on in Europe. I have a quick question for you that I hope you can answer. Here in Australia our local league, the NBL, have limits to the number of players you can have from outside Australia and New Zealand. The limit is 2 or 3 (depending on the team). This is to promote the development of local players. Do these European leagues have something similar, where you can only have a certain number of players from outside Europe?? Cheers Rick
  22. Quote: will the select team vs USA team be on national tv? if so when Cant help you on that one. Quote: when is the olympics gonna start? i wanna see some basketball(no wnba or summer league) The Olympics start on the 8th August, with the basketball starting on the 10th August. Those dates are in Beijing time, so its probably the day before for you guys over in the States. Cheers Rick
  23. Anyone have an idea on when the 2008-09 schedule might come out? I haven't been able to find a definitive date anywhere. I'm wanting to book some flights over, but its all on hold until I can find out which days the games are on. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Rick
