Goog to see another Australian Hawks fan on here. I've been to about 7 games at Philips Arena and it gets better every time. Sorry I can't help you with your quest on getting NVEs autograph. I could say "that's no excuse", as I made it to last nights game from Australia. The MARTA doesnt go there. :rolleyes: I hope we get a big crowd for the Miami game tomorrow, I'd love to experience a near-full arena whilst I am still here.

I guess they didn't complain when the refs didn't call Oden's travelling in the post.

Just got back from the game and wow, I think I picked a good game to actually attend, that was so fun. It was so ugly in the first three quarters, and there were a few boos from some of the crowd around me, but that fourth quarter and OT was awesome. Nothing much that I can add to what has been said. I have some photos which I will try and post soon. Can't wait for the game on Wednesday!! Cheers Rick

Thanks hawksfanatic for the explanation. I was looking at Coons site and trying to find a specific explanation in regards to second rounders. I understand what you are saying about him using the words "free agent", just not in the true definition of it, he kind of includes second rounders in it. You are right it was pertaining to David Andersen, but I was more thinking how would we have signed him. At the kind of money he was wanting we probably would have had to give up around 50-60% of the MLE, so I started thinking about how teams actually sign second rounders when they are over the cap, without chewing into their MLE. So they pretty much make them sign for the minimum, or like the trend is, sign a euro player and only bring them over if its worth giving them a share of the MLE. Thanks for all your help. Cheers

Hey All, We have a few capologists on this board and I had a question in regards to how second round picks impact the salary cap. Ive done a quick look around, but it appears to me the Rookie Exception is only for first rounders. If you want to sign a second rounder, above the minimum, which area of the cap does this impact? Surely you dont have to use the MLE, I thought that was only for free agents, and a second rounder has never been a free agent. Any info would be great. Cheers Rick

From Sekou - New salary cap numbers (per NBA). New cap is $57.7 million. Luxury tax is $69.92 million. 2008-09 numbers were $58.68 and $71.15.

As an Aussie, I would love to have Mills in our team. I question his outside shooting, but he is as fast as hell and does take the ball to the hole.
