  1. I'm not bothered with which one you go for Dolfan....actually the one you feel the most comfortable with as it sounds like you'll be the main one in maintaining the site. I am also one for, if possible, migrating the current forum into the new one, but if this isnt possible, then an archive kept somewhere where we can search it. I obviously dont care about post count....150 posts in 6 years Love your work Dolfan, let me know if you need some help with anything. Cheers Rick
  2. Quote: Rick, you are definitely my favorite Hawks fan from outside the Southeast. Great job man, keep up the good work!!! And of course, a big thanks goes out to you. Haha, thanks mate! If anyone wants other animated gifs made, I am more than happy to do it, its fairly easy. Cheers Rick
  3. I found some time before I head off for the weekend to make those animated gifs. I made them twice the size as requested. One of them is with the chest-bump, one is without. I have made them links here, as they are large filesizes, so dialup users dont get smashed. Also, I am happy for anyone to use them, but please take a copy and store it somewhere else, I cant afford all the bandwidth on my server. I'll eventually remove them... With Chest-bump (19.3MB) - http://www.rickc.org/images/jj_break_ankles_large_long.gif Without Chest-bump (15.2MB) - http://www.rickc.org/images/jj_break_ankles_large_short.gif Now you may notice with the larger sizes that the quality isnt as good. This is because they are gifs and I think they are only 256 colours, so you notice the quality isnt that great as they are larger. So I made a medium sized one too which is halfway between the small one I made originally and the two large ones here. You dont notice the the lower quality as much. Medium Size Without Chest-Bump (9.1MB) - http://www.rickc.org/images/jj_break_ankles_medium_short.gif Enjoy! Cheers Rick
  4. Quote: does anyone know where Ric got that alternate angle? That is nice and crystal clear. All I ever see is the TNT clip. I know ric is down under so he may never read this, or if he does it will be hours from now... It was taken from the Comcast Sportsnet broadcast of the game. That angle was a replay of the play that was shown during the timeout straight after it.
  5. Quote: If you could keep it running all the way until Joe is done screaming, that would be awesome. The chest bump with Josh Smith is awesome too, but if you think the file would be too big, don't worry about that last part. I'll probably end up doing two different ones. One that goes all the way to the chest bump, and one that finishes just after JJ screams, then you can decide which one you want.
  6. Quote: Can you use this as video for a cell phone? I have no idea. It just an animated .gif file so your phone would need to support that. If not, and you can find out what formats it does support, I can see if I can convert it to a format that will work. Cheers Rick
  7. Quote: Would it help if you cut out the chest bump w/ Josh Smith? Thanks for the help, man! Yep, I can make it shorter...when I originally made it, I liked including the chest-bump, it was part of the whole celebration. OK, I'll try to make one up that is 2x larger in size, but shorter in length....We'll see how that comes out. As I said though, wont be until after the weekend. Cheers Rick
  8. Quote: Thanks, Rick! Is there any way to make it bigger? Like 2X bigger? I can probably make a bigger one if you wish, the problem though is if you want to use it ina signature it already has a large filesize of 6.5Mb, doubling its size will of course only make it a larger download. I can make one up for you though, but I wont be able to do it probably till after the weekend. If I don't have one done for you in by then, just PM me and remind me....I may have forgotten about it. Cheers Rick
  9. I will never ever forget that JJ cross over that put Powe on his ass. Still watching it now makes me so excited and fired up, I loved it!!
  10. Quote: Can teams still offer a contract to the Joshes now that its the 9th of July? I hope they cant! That would be great. Its only just starting now mate.
  11. Quote: Who the hell is this guy? What a pointless thread, any legitimate poster will tell you Dolfan does a lot for the website and I seriously doubt anyone would want to remove him from any position.Agreed. I was laughing out loud whilst reading through this thread. People here at work were giving me weird looks. It is one of the most ridiculous threads I have ever read on this board, and I have read the vast majority of them. I would fear the demise of this board if Dolfan left.Oh yeah, Im an Australian Hawks fan, only ever been to Atlanta once, but I'm still a Hawks fan through and through. You don't need to be from or in the ATL to be a true fan.CheersRick
  12. Quote: i need yearly income for the following players Lebron Kobe Garnett Iverson Oneal(jermaine and shaq) Dwight Howard Rashawd Lewis Bibby Joe Johnson Pierce thank you Google has some amazing stuff in it, you should try it. I put in "NBA" and "salary" and in the results came up with this -> http://www.sportscity.com/NBA-Salaries/ Quote: hile orders are being taken.......... I need: Hashbrowns, double covered, diced, and chunked, and on the cripsy side Eggs over easy Waffle on the light side sausage coffee /2 creams / 1 sugar ice water to wash it all down with That sounds great, I'll take one too, but I wouldnt mind a side of bacon with it. Cheers!
  13. Quote: I read this also but i know for a fact that the reporter has no facts to backup the 5 million claim. i have spoken with a family member who has told me he was willing to go to Atlanta if he got a verbal offer of 2-3 million. Were you able to get a reason on why he was unable to get a verbal agreement? Were Atlanta not interested, or was that price (2-3 mill) above what the Hawks were offering??
  14. Quote: Most of their points came off transition baskets and post scoring, which is where I would like to see the majority of our points come from. Horford needs more chances to score with his back to the basket. Yep mate I wouldnt mind this either. However, for Horford to be able to score in the post, we need the 3pt threat to give him the space. If they double AH, then we need to make them pay by passing the ball to the open shooter, if they decide not to double then Al gets to go 1 on 1 in the post. If we have JS at the 3 (without a shooting 4/5), I think teams would be happy to have his defender double in the post and leave Josh to attempt the 3.
  15. Quote: IMO, we need a tree rollins type starting center. With a true center, Al moves to the 4 spot and Smoove to the 3 spot. Hey MoonKnight, I think this is why people were getting excited about DA. He is an outside shooter, which Smoove isnt. So while on offense DA could play on the perimeter whilst JS and AH played inside. If you have a Tree clone with AH at 4 and JS at 3, you then only have two 3 point threats in Bibs and JJ. I was excited for another reason about DA, but I think Ive over done that now. Edit - You're right about the $5 mill though, it would have been a big risk to take.... I need to change my sig too, what a waste that was putting the singlet on DA.......
  16. Quote: That goes against what Rick posted from the Sydney paper yesterday. Quote: Australian Boomers forward David Andersen ha splaced a remarkable $5 million price tag on himself to join the NBA next season. "Atlanta have got to come to the ball game a bit. I don't want to be taking a massive pay cut just to go to the NBA" Andersen said. "If they can come to the ball game a bit, obviously I'll be going there. That doesn't sound like a guy willing to take a 2-3 million salary to come to the NBA. The fact is that we cannot (and should not) pay this guy 5 million per year because of the salary cap. Read Rick's post here Also, that excerpt from the paper is now online, just so you all know that I wasn't making up BS....http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,23902300-23769,00.html I'm shattered that DA isn't coming, I was shattered that we didnt get the number 1 pick in 2005 so that we could get Bogut, I would love to cheer an Aussie in my team, especially when I'll be in ATL in November....but at $5 million a season?? that is pretty big bikkies for someone who hasn't proven themselves in the NBA yet, and will be the second or third person off the bench... Maybe there is a NBA out in his contract with Barcelona, I guess it would give us a chance to sign him next year, or even makes his rights a bit more valuable to trade to someone else...
  17. Man, I'm really disappointed with this...
  18. This article was in the Sydney Sunday paper. I was unable to find it online anywhere, so I typed it out, sorry for any typos as I rushed it. - Cheers Rick Boomer names his own price for NBA Australian Boomers forward David Andersen ha splaced a remarkable $5 million price tag on himself to join the NBA next season. Andersen is in negotiations with the Atlanta Hawks and hopes to seal a deal in the next fortnight, before joining the Boomers for their Beijing Olympics preparations. But the multiple European championship winner says he'll only go to the NBA if the price is right. The 212cm forward is in huge demand in Europe after playing a key role for CSKA Moscow in winning this year's Euroleague, basketballs equivalent of soccers Champions League. Although selected No.37 by Atlanta in the 2002 NBA draft, Andersen has made his name and his millions playing in the salary-cap free world of European basketball. "Atlanta have got to come to the ball game a bit. I don't want to be taking a massive pay cut just to go to the NBA" Andersen said. "If they can come to the ball game a bit, obviously I'll be going there. Andersen said Australia's only NBA player, Andrew Bogut, was always trying to coax him to the US. Andersen, who turns 28 tomorrow, also wants to test himself in the NBA. But his salary demand is also insurance that he gets to play a strong role with the Hawks. "If you go over as an important role (player) with a good salary then obviously they need to play you. That's my challenge, to get to the NBA and be amongst it" he said. "I want to get there. I'm hoping that's my next step because I've conquered a lot in Europe, so I'm hoping things will work through with Atlanta. I think to myself I could give it a fair crack." Andersen is confident the Boomers can gel in the next month and push for an Olympic medal. He said he was ready to play a leadership role in his second Olympic campaign. "Losing a couple of guys (to injury) like Sam (MacKinnon) and Jason (Smith) is a real blow because they're obvioulsy great leaders. That's why me and a couple of the other guys have got to step up".
  19. That was a great job! Really fun to watch again!
  20. Quote: Hah, nice. Being a Hawks fan in Australia since '91 is impressive. I wonder if there will be a lot more when he comes over. I have noticed just recently alot more people in Australian bball forums noticing the Hawks and trying to get on the "bandwagon" early. David Andersen isn't a big name here, only real bball followers here know of him. I think this is because he only played one or two seasons in the local league before heading over the Europe, where you just don't hear about Australian players here. When he does start playing, he will become much more known here, and I'm sure more Aussie will jump on then. Before Andrew Bogut got drafted to Milwaukee you never saw Milwaukee singlets, or people supporting them, now you see them quite often. You can see my registration date to the left there....you all know I was here before DA got on board. ... though thats probably around the time he was drafted!
  21. Quote: we will get to see him agasint usa in the olimpics in before the season.. ozzzie ozzzie ozzie! Australia will win it this year Australia and the USA are not in the same pool in the Olympics, so both teams will need to make it past the pool stage to have a chance at playing each other, and this is no definite for Australia, with two players pulling out just recently. The best chance for a Australia/USA matchup would be Australia coming fourth in their pool and the USA winning their pool, if that happened then both teams meet in the next round. Also, I worked on this last night, first time I have tried to put a different uniform on a player, also had to create the 3....
  22. Totally agree, this is what I was thinking when I saw the lottery results. Out of all the EC teams, Miami and Chicago are the two teams that least need the help, except maybe Charlotte. Would have much preferred the picks went to the WC or if it had to be EC then to Milwaukee and maybe the Knicks.
  23. Quote: there are some interesting guys at the top of the second round. I'd like to see up obtain a pick . . . . . a couple teams have more than one. Some of the projected guys are: Ryan Anderson Cal, PF Mario Chalmers, Kansas PG Nathan Jawai, Euro, PF my favorite Joey Dorsey, Memphis, PF Who do you duys like? Nathan Jawai is an Aussie and just recently played in the NBL, which is the local Australian league. There was a small article on him in one of the local papers just recently... Quote: THE NBA draft stocks of Cairns Taipans star Nathan Jawai have soared since the Australian arrived in the US on Sunday. ESPN expert Chad Ford has ranked him as a mid-to-late first-round pick. Jawai, 21, and countryman Aleks Maric have been put through their paces in Las Vegas by noted trainer Joe Abunassar before the June 26 draft in New York. Ford gave the man known as "baby Shaq" a huge compliment, comparing him to Los Angeles Clippers superstar and former NBA All-Star Elton Brand. "Despite his size, he's pretty light on his feet and shows the footwork of a former soccer player," Ford said. "What surprised me were Jawai's skills facing the basket. He has a very soft touch and great range out to about 18ft (5.5m)."
  24. Quote: We wouldn't need him for much offense. Need him to play defense against the other bigs that usually kill us. He's young enough that he will come around some if he is athletic. For that size, he is athletic, but he would no doubt be a project. He has only played one year professionally. He is an outside chance of making the Australian team for the Olympics (he is in the 30 man try-out squad) so you may see him there. I personally dont think he will make the team, as we have a few good big men that have secure spots in the team (Andrew Bogut, David Andersen, Chris Anstey - ex Bulls/Mavs, and Matt Neilsen - plays in Europe). He might just squeeze in there as a 5th PF/C, but he is competing with Luke Schenscher (ex-GA Tech, Trail-Blazers, now in NBDL), and Andrew Ogilvy (Vanderbilt).
