  1. I think the Spurs would take Murray back, but unlike some Hawks fans, they know there is a significant difference between Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. They would take Murray back, but it isn't going to be at the cost we gave up getting him.
  2. No. The Spurs don't have any leverage. There isn't a point guard who is the caliber of Trae that is available. If they want to pair Trae with Wemby, they will have to pay. The Hawks do not have to trade Trae. This is a statement that is made only if Trae gets shopped, which I don't think will happen. Memphis isn't trading Ja Morant, so there is really no avenue for San Antonio to get a legit star point guard like Trae.
  3. That's exactly what it is. These are posters who will never acknowledge just how impactful Trae Young is. They simply don't like him. They would rather lose with a worse player than build around Trae.
  4. If, and that's a big if, the Hawks do actually shop Trae, the Spurs will have to let go of those picks. They aren't getting him otherwise. The Hawks aren't going to take 10 cents on the dollar for Trae like they did John Collins. The Hawks have all the leverage. They don't have to trade him even if he asks to be traded. He's under contract through 2026.
  5. So basically, your bias against Trae is showing.
  6. Of course, but you want to be in the lottery every year instead of competing for the playoffs. The downgrade from Trae to Dejounte is tremendous, and its more than just the counting stats that Dejounte puts up. Dejounte is a good player. He's not a Trae Young level player. He's not going to make the players around him better. He doesn't have that kind of gravity. Trae Young is a player who immediately draws the attention of two defenders the moment he crosses the half court line. Dejounte doesn't have that kind of gravity. He doesn't require two defenders. We are significantly worse over the long haul with DJ running point than we are with Trae.
  7. Seriously! We have the chance to draft Sarr to team up with Trae, JJ, and OO, and some who are in the twilight zone think it’s a bad fit and we should trade Trae. It get better though. They think he’s a better fit with the same archetype of player in San Antonio. Not the same player but the same archetype. A switch big with perimeter offensive ability.
  8. Good lord that’s a terrible deal. The fit between Trae and Ingram is questionable at best. The fit between Murray and Ingram is horrific.
  9. The Hawks should try to get another first later in the draft this year (Capela to Phoenix for 24) and take Bobi Klintman. Really high upside wing with size and skill.
  10. A couple of bold predictions about this draft: 1. Tidjane Salaun goes top 10. This kid is dripping with potential. He’s a lottery ticket, but someone is going to be very intrigued with 6’10” with shooting and defensive upside. The more I looked at him, the more I wanted him for the Hawks if we stayed at 10. 2. Ulrich Chomche will push to be drafted in the late lottery. He measured in at a shade under 6’11” at the combine today. He’s an elite athlete. Potential defensive anchor. 3. Pacome Diadet goes top 20. This is really a draft where you are better off taking a chance on a lottery ticket than looking for immediate impact.
  11. Some would rather perpetually be in the lottery than in the playoffs.
  12. Yeah, because we played bad teams and teams that had nothing to play for when Trae was out.
  13. And lose for the next 5-6 years with very little chance of getting back to the playoffs anytime soon.
  14. Yes he does. He’s not going to be able to pitch a tent in the paint in the NBA. He has to be able to defend on the perimeter.
  15. Edey doesn’t have a chance in hell of staying with Wemby or any other modern big.
  16. He’s Boban, who doesn’t bully anyone because no one plays that style. Plus, he can’t stay on the floor because he’s so immobile.
  17. And? He’s an oaf coming to a league where centers have to be athletic.
  18. No one in their right mind is thinking that. He’s not a lottery pick either.
  19. I do think Kel’el Ware and Yves Missi have solidified themselves as the 3rd and 4th bigs off the board behind Sarr and Clingan.
  20. Imagine watching that guy run and thinking that it’s impressive.
  21. Did they start the clock halfway through the run?
