  1. Lloyd wasn't an up-and-coming assistant. No other team would have hired him to be a head coach. Notice that he hasn't gotten even an interview for a head coaching job since he ran the Hawks into the ground. Bud wasn't against rebuilding. He was against tanking and coaching to lose games.
  2. They are essentially the same player. Slow. Can't change directions. Cannot navigate traffic.
  3. Trae also knew the coach was holding that team back.
  4. I think both players clearly have the potential to shoot the ball from above the break. It's why I wanted to draft Okongwu from the beginning, and why I want to draft Sarr this year. I also believe Jalen will shoot better as well going forward, and if they all shoot like I think they can, there won't be many spacing issues with those three on the floor together.
  5. You can't develop talent without focusing on winning habits, and you can't focus on winning habits when you are trying to lose games. Lloyd Pierce was hired for one reason and one reason only. He was hired to lose games, and they knew he wasn't good enough to win games. Bud was forced out because they knew he could milk more wins out of the group they gave him than a bad coach would. So, we hired Pierce. We lost games. We didn't develop players properly. That's the result of tanking. That's the only result you will ever get with tanking.
  6. The 76ers absolutely threw games. The Hawks intentionally hired a bad coach to lose games when they hired Pierce.
  7. Yeah. When Trae is playing one handed and he doesn’t have some key players on the floor. His defense clearly improved this year, but I’ll more than willingly accept a defensive liability if he is as good as Trae is offensively.
  8. Got to love the Trae haters trying to say that Murray is as valuable as he is. Just say it. You don’t like Trae and won’t him gone no matter how elite he is as a player.
  9. Not to mention that Trae draws two defenders the moment he crosses half court. DJ doesn’t. The offensive gravity isn’t even close.
  10. What makes the environment different? "We are trying to win games" vs "We are trying to lose games". That makes all the difference in the world. You don't develop winning habits when you are actively trying to throw/lose games.
  11. Trae is a top 15 player and the #1 PG in the entire league.
  12. There has been some talk that Brooklyn has a little buyer's remorse over Cam Johnson's contract. I'd be willing to swap Hunter for Johnson 1 to 1. Johnson isn't a great POA defender, but offensively, he's a better fit beside Trae.
  13. No. You won't, because unlike with Trae, you can legitimately get a DJM type on the market for cheaper.
  14. Givony's flaw is that he is comparing size only and not athleticism. Athletically, Edey is Boban. He's not even remotely close to Shaq athletically. Givony has to continue his Edey propaganda though. Got to get that kickback.
  15. IMO, the best thing for the Hawks is to convince Trae that while he may not compete for a championship this year with a core of him along with JJ, Sarr, OO, and Kobe, that's the best way for him to compete for a championship before his contract is up in Atlanta.
  16. You will not get Vassell with Murray.
  17. Why do so many people want to stick Brandon Ingram on this team?
  18. We can match the salary by adding Hunter to the deal. However, the only picks we can actually trade in the deal would be the #1 pick this year, a 2029 1st round pick, and a 2031 first round pick. Milwaukee isn't going to do that. We can't trade our 2026 pick or our 2028 pick because of the stepien rule. I guess we could trade the Kings pick, but that may not convey.
  19. The Hawks should absolutely tell SA that if they want Trae, we want Vassell and start the talks from there. Keldon is a decent player, but he's not going to be a long-term core piece. He's not enough of a two-way player to be a core piece.
  20. It will take more than just Keldon. Vassell works because his $29 million salary works. They will have to add salary to Keldon to make it work.
  21. We in fact did not play better without Trae. Offense was far worse. Defense was only better because of who we were playing when he was out.
  22. Basically, what they want to do if they trade Trae is to trade DJ, JJ, OO, Kobe, and anyone else that has the potential to be good so the team can suck for the next 6 years and have a lot of high lottery picks. With the only guarantee that you will never win a championship by doing that.
  23. That's exactly how the Nuggets were built. That's exactly how the Bucks were built. That's exactly how the Heat have been able to consistently stay good.
  24. My point is to have the picks available to you to either use on a player or trade for a player. Where the picks end up has no bearing, IMO.
