  1. Not buying. BI is neither the player nor the value that DM is, particularly since he's going to want a new contract that is for far more than what we are paying DM.
  2. The media is about to bombard us with Trae Young to the Lakers rumors now that LA is out of the playoffs.
  3. This is actually a decent plan. Much better than the trade OO and draft a 7 foot stiff that some others have promoted.
  4. I just don’t think Ingram is going to suddenly change his style.
  5. You know what? The Bogi contract Landry got done is a very good deal for the Hawks as well. Murray and Bogi are both on below market deals through at least the 25/26 season. Onyeka's deal is a very good deal as well. I like what Landry has done in terms of getting extensions at below market prices.
  6. Well, he wasn't traded. They let Freeman walk because it didn't make sense to give a 32-year-old player the 6 year contract he was wanting. They traded for Matt Olson instead and gave the 28-year-old an extension. The lesson that needs to be learned is to not overpay for your own guys. Ronald Acuna signed a below market extension. Same for Ozzie Albies. Dansby Swanson didn't though, and they let him walk. Don't overpay for talent that is replaceable. The John Collins and DeAndre Hunter extensions would have never happened under a guy like AA. Both of those deals were made by Travis Schlenk. Landry Fields has caught the brunt of the discourse over that, but his hands were tied on the Collins deal and any deal that involves Hunter. Now, Landry's one move he did make was signing Murray to a below market deal. Even with the bad fit with Trae, that's a very good move instead of just losing him for nothing.
  7. So, those of you with connections, are you hearing anything different on the Trae front? I know it's media propaganda more than likely, but it seems like there is just a lot more trade Trae talk going on that hasn't been squashed yet. I know Brad keeps reiterating that he's not hearing anything on the Trae front.
  8. Miami Heat folks think they can get whoever they want. They don't have the capital to pull off a deal for Trae Young unless they tamper like they did with Dame and get him to say Miami is the only place he's willing to go.
  9. I don't get the desire some have to get Ingram. Particularly if he plays with Dejounte. They do the same thing. They are mid-range mavens and will take bad shots to get their middy game on.
  10. This is why Ingram does not fit alongside Trae.
  11. That trade wasn't about DJM. It was about Trae. You don't trade Trae Young and get just Herb Jones. I would do DJM for Herb and CJ.
  12. There has to be more coming back to Atlanta. CJ is not a prize. Herb fits the Hawks most dire need for POA perimeter defense. However, more has to come back for Trae.
  13. Booker with Trae is a great offensive match. Defensively, eek. You would have to go all in on just out scoring the opponent. I’ve always said there were two offense only players who are such great fits with Trae that I’d get and just go all out offense. Devin Booker and Karl Anthony Towns.
  14. Trae doesn’t do half the foul baiting that Luke does. They only enforce that rule on Trae though.
  15. He will be drafted in the first round.
  16. Of course, the issue with taking Dunn at 10 is that it’s a reach for a need. Out of all the players in this draft though, his defense is the singular most elite trait in this draft.
  17. He is, but he’s also a guy who can guard 2-4 with his POA defense while providing excellent secondary rim protection. He’s not a DeAndre Hunter who is good at defending bigger wings but not so good at defending 2s or 4s. Of course, I think DeAndre could have been better but his early years were wasted with shitty coaching.
  18. Dunn would be the POA defender on the wing.
  19. This. This also extends some to JJ, who has real on the ball defensive ability and strong secondary rim protection. He gets lost sometimes when he has to help and recover and in transition. On a nightly basis though, those two are our two best overall defenders. I have high hopes for Kobe joining them. The Hawks desperately need that POA wing defender that can guard 1-3 if not 1-4. It’s enough of an issue that I would seriously consider Ryan Dunn at ten for his defense and take a chance that Quin can make his offense better. Very similar to Herb Jones when he came out of Alabama.
  20. It's pretty clear that some aren't going to be happy until OO is replaced by a 7-foot stiff.
