  1. Stay at #8 and take Cam Take Herro with the Mavs pick at #10 Clarke at #17 I guess?
  2. Go get Dunn, Travis. Will also be nice for LaVine to have a former teammate around when the mega trade happens.
  3. Well he was right on Capela before anything came out. But, at the very least, it's given us something to talk about for the past month when there's literally been nothing else going on in the NBA lol
  4. Lol love that gif! Yeah, I was just saying in that original post it's not a perfect fit. BUT, I think LaVine buys you two years while guys like Cam and Hunter develop and will make us more competitive than we are right now with Huerter. LaVine is just better right now. And it's all about doing what we have to in order to be competitive this year and keep Trae happy. I think this move does that and doesn't hurt our future (I'd miss Huerter too btw.)
  5. I get your point and it's a valid argument. I'm just piecing together the clues that we've been given and I think this trade makes the most sense. Personally, I think upgrading to a 25 PPG 38% three point shooter would be an upgrade over Huerter.
  6. They've specifically said it's not Trae, Capela, or the 2019 lottery guys (Reddish and Hunter.) Travis said in his press conference today, "Our hope is to get something done with him (John Collins)." That only leaves one player...
  7. I think we've established today that Hueter is the player going out from the Hawks in the "3 team mega trade", like I predicted earlier. So we have to be bringing a SG back. Go down the list of shooting guards out there and tell me who you think it could be, if not LaVine. There's literally no one else. And I think you're crazy if you don't think LaVine is an upgrade over Huerter at this point in their careers. They're probably a wash on defense, but LaVine is just better on offense right now. Capela will also be a new addition and Supes is rumoring Heyward. Additions of LaVine + Heyward + Capela = Playoffs in the East
  8. Lol you get my point though. His stats at 23 are up there with the all time greats at that age and you're not trading him for anything other than a bona fide superstar like Giannis or AD.
  9. I'm not sure if there are any PF's in the history of the game who've, at 23, put up better numbers than John Collins. It's why the trades people were posting on here involving him were so laughable to me. Edit: Tim Duncan was better.
  10. I'd love to see him stand side by side with Bam. But with how physical Okongwu plays, I'm not too worried about it.
  11. I'd obviously switch 1 and 2 but I like Okoro a lot. He's a GA boy so I'm a little bit of a homer on him lol I think Hali is better right now than Hayes, but I think Hayes has more potential. I wouldn't dislike either of those picks though. Not a Toppin fan personally, but he's probably the most NBA ready of anyone in the draft. I just worry about how much more he can improve given his age.
  12. My gut is telling me we draft Okongwu. Gives him 3 years to develop under Capela and then he's our Center of the future. Outside of the top 3 guys, I think Okongwu has the most potential. My second guess would be a backup PG - probably Hayes, maybe Haliburton. Last but not least would be Okoro, just based on potential and his defense. I think one of these guys will almost certainly be a Hawk on draft night and I think we stay at 6.
  13. I wanna know what this draft compensation is. OKC really over here stockpiling picks right now lol
  14. JC isn't getting traded before him, Trae, and Capela even play one game together. The whole point of the Capela trade was how well he fit with JC and Trae. No one can convince me otherwise.
  15. THIS 100%. LaVine makes you a playoff contender right now. Which keeps Trae happy and gives Cam and Hunter 2 years to develop. It's all about giving our core time to develop WHILE being competitive. LaVine does this. Is he a perfect fit right now? No. But in 2 years, Cam and Hunter may very well be a perfect fit for this team and both entering their prime.
  16. I can't argue with anything you're saying either. He just checks the boxes of Supes' rumor and also checks most of the boxes from a basketball fit perspective for this team. We're not trading for a PG. SF the rumor is Heyward. If you dig deeper into SF, there's no one there that makes any sense from a mega trade perspective. PF, no one can convince me that we're trading JC. When we traded for Capela, Trae and JC we're the 2 main pieces of the core. Capela was brought in to complement them. No way they trade JC before seeing that trio play 1 game together. C, obviously not going to be a center based on the above. That leaves SG. And when you go down the list of top shooting guards, LaVine is the name that jumps out and makes the most sense. His name is also attached to a lot of trade rumors. Where there's smoke....there's fire.
  17. "Mega" is in the eye of the beholder. I'd consider landing a 2 x Dunk Champ, 25 ppg scorer who shoots 38% from 3 to be mega.
  18. I also think LaVine makes the most sense based on his contract. His contract isn't bad at all: 2 years left at $19.5M. What happens in 2 years? Trae is getting PAID. This timing works out perfectly. Reddish is also probably ready to step up and take over the starting role. I also think we stay at 6 and draft Okongwu in the draft. The beauty of Capela's contract comes into play here. Capela will be expiring just as Okongwu is entering his prime and is probably ready to take over at Center. I expect us to sign Heyward as well to a 3 year deal. This timing also works out great with Reddish and Hunter being paid in 3 years. Trae/FA/Goodwin LaVine/Cam/FA Heyward/Hunter/FA Collins/Okongwu/Skal Capela/Okongwu/Bruno I obviously have zero inside information and this is just what I would do lol But this is a playoff team and a competitive one at that.
  19. I don't think pairing Simmons with Young/Capela works.
  20. I question the defensive fit as well, but I think him and Huerter are probably a wash there. I'm just throwing out LaVine because I think he's the most likely based on the info we have, and the assumption it's not JC being traded.
  21. I don't think Trae and Harden would be a good basketball fit. As far as LaVine not being a "mega" trade - He was at 25 ppg, 1.5 steals, 5 boards, and 4 assists last year on .45/.38/.80 splits. He's also only 25 and fits our timeline. SG makes the most sense for us to target in a big trade if my assumption is right that JC isn't going anywhere. Google Zach LaVine and there's a lot of smoke about trade rumors. I really think it's LaVine lol
  22. Doesn't having Huerter on the roster also push Cam or Hunter to the bench? Adding Heyward also pushes one of them to the bench. You're getting a better player in the trade if you're the Hawks. And if you look at trade rumors online, LOT of smoke for Oladipo AND Lavine right now. I think this trade makes sense. And with the information we've been given, it's the best I got lol
