Let's be real...Dedmon was on the way out as soon as Okongwu's name was called. I just question whether we could have gotten more for him, but if the market wasn't there, it wasn't there. Both only have 1 year left on their deals so that's a positive. Outside of that, meh?

It's almost painful reading through some of these draft analyses and seeing how blatant it is that these writers have absolutely 0 clue about the Hawks. "The Hawks have Clint Capela already as a defense-first center to protect the rim." BUT YET, "In terms of fit, I liked Tyrese Haliburton here." Sooooo you don't think we should have picked Okongwu because we already have Capela, but think we should have picked Hali EVEN THOUGH we already have a bona fide stud in Trae Young at the point...

I hadn't heard of Skylar Mays before his name was called at #50 lol I'm liking what I'm reading in his draft profile though. I see him being listed as a Shooting Guard primarily, but I do see some places that think he can play point. Anyone with any knowledge of him think he can be our primary backup PG, or is that not really his game?

Okongwu has been my guy last few weeks! Let's go! We've got our starting 5 the next 10 years these last 4 drafts.

Anyone have any info on this? Little concerning as I'd consider Okongwu to be "my guy." I'd still probably take him since we have depth there while he heals.

For sure, keep 'em coming! I enjoy the rumors, but I always have to ask myself first, "From a basketball perspective, does this make sense?" And I think what you've said here about Heyward does. I hope later tonight we're celebrating an Okongwu pick, a Heyward trade, and another pick that we received from Boston.

I hope so man, I really do. But one thing is for certain, tonight is draft night and we should all be pumped and looking forward to that!

He covers the Celtics. It says so right in his bio so of course his tweets are going to be more "pro" Boston. Doesn't mean he doesn't have contacts within the organization or know what's going on up there. Could his info be wrong? Sure. But so could the info we're getting "rumored" here on this board by "anonymous" sources.

How are you feeling about us taking Okongwu at 6 if he's available? Do you think he'd be the pick? Over the past week or so, I've started hoping he would be our target.

Ummmm what? - 5 words: Matt Ryan and Freddie Freeman. I think the community loves them. Everyone loved Korver too. It all comes down to winning. If you win, you're going to be a hero in this town, no matter what your culture. So there's no reason to make it about that. If an elite player doesn't fit your culture and we're making it about that, why would he or anyone else ever come here?

The Houston situation....yikes! Who woulda thunk that Shifty Travis fleecing them for the MIGHTY Clint Capela is what lead to their demise. Guess Clint had a bigger impact than anyone coulda thought. This is how I'm choosing to view the situation at least lol

Yeah I'm seriously starting to have some doubts about this "mega" trade. Him and Giannis are close. He'll probably recruit him to come to the ATL with him.

Oh cool. He must be coming to ATL to visit family for the Holidays.

If it's not LaVine, I literally have ZERO clue who we'd be targeting in a mega trade lol. Guess I'll be shocked if and when it happens. Hopefully in a good way.

Sooooo based on these new rumors from @NBASupes, I see our depth chart being: Trae/Hayes/Ish Smith LaVine/Cam (Still convinced Zach LaVine is the Mega trade) Hayward/Hunter/Brown Jr. Collins/Skal Capela/Bruno/Skal Yeah, this works. I like it. Would prefer to keep Okongwu if he falls to 6, but Kilian Hayes has potential too. And backup PG would be BY FAR our biggest need going into the draft. We'd easily make the playoffs with this team and I wouldn't bet against us winning a series or two.
