  1. In 2024...this is what we are doing???? Sigh.
  2. see my response prior to your post. I said the same thing about Cam and Hunter on the defensive side of the ball - it just never materialized. I'm not saying be DPOY - but someone to be the guy for our team.
  3. So are you saying Trae is one of one on offense? Cool! I made no reference to Wemby or any other player for that matter. I'm simply pointing out that we have ZERO defensive identity on this team - if he can be the lynchpin that jumpstarts that process for this team, not relative to any other player, BUT FOR THIS TEAM - it's going in the right direction.
  4. My thinking is there is influence is terms of 'get me some help', but in terms of specificity of hand picked players to target - less so. Example: The first get me some help moment was after a game walking in the tunnel in Season 2 after a tough loss and Trae was pissed. Someone from the team as they were walking back to the locker room put their hand around is shoulders and said 'help is coming'. The following offseason we signed Bogi and Gallo as our big FA acquisitions. Did Trae specifically ask for those players or was it these are the guys we are targeting to get you some help?
  5. Oh - but there are a few or two that think so.
  6. If he can be to the defense what Trae is to the offense - I think we are on the right path.
  7. apparently neither is anyone else in this draft - most won't even go top in them top 10.
  8. But you know that is not the case, or there wouldn't be guys like Jokic being picked 2nd round.
  9. IIRC - I thought the whole CC to Houston trade was contingent on James Harden going back to Houston. Once Udoka became coach, he apparently told the front office not to bring Harden back. Or it could be something as simple as the Hawks saying to Trae 'this is the deal for Capela' and Trae gave a at the return in lieu of Trae walking into Schlenk's office and demanding they keep Capela. We don't know how things unfold, and trade talks are never static. Either way Final decision-making rests on the FO.
  10. I couldn't find your post. Apologies
  11. Need some beef. Someone just mentioned Val from NOP is a FA and they're not interested in resigning him. (I need to look at FA centers) Going back to last season regarding Mo - he indicated they had him playing more on the wing than as a big. He ended up playing PR/C due to our injuries.
  12. What I'm more saying is we can't trade CC and then do nothing to replace him.
  13. Here's a different video: Sarr with 2 clutch 3s in the final 2 minutes: And another....this one I have not watched as yet. It's a breakdown and not just highlights.
  14. That's why I said regardless of pick position - the rest of the roster still needs addressing.
  15. It's all about expectations. I'm not going overboard with sky high epectations. If he can provide a little more than what Derreck Lively provided this year off the bench in year one - cool.
  16. If the FO is picking by consensus, then they should be fired. They need to trust their scouts, the combine, workouts, interviews, personality, past tapes, Quin's input etc. I don't trust one thing Landy says though
  17. LOL. I know people say weak draft, flat draft, etc. But is it really ever true in reality? Each team has a draft board with each player ranked based on several requirements such as potential, need, etc. Some boards may be similar, others may be different. Depending on where you are picking your draft board may change based on who is available to you. I don't understand 'rather stay at #10 vs getting #' philosophy.
  18. Hawks lucking into the #1 pick does not require this much heartburn!
