  1. But it's not even about just that though. It's what we didn't do after the decision to move on from JC was made. There wasn't a serious attempt to add talent. Just to recap: 1. traded JC for Gay and 2nd, then traded Gay for Patty Mills $6.5 mil (he replaced AHol) 2. Drafted #15 Kobe $4 mil 3. Signed Wes as a FA $2.2 mil We had the unguaranteed contracts of Garrison and Bruno totalling $4.5 million, which we later guaranteed. That was the extent of our offseason moves.
  2. As far as Booker is concerned: 23, 25. 21, 19, 34 - number of games won in his first 5 seasons. 51, 64, 45, 49 - number of games in his last 4 after adding CP3 and then KD. You think he didn't 'ask' for some help after those 5 seasons?.
  3. Yes. You forgot Frank Kaminsky!
  4. You know what Steph has had since Trae was drafted? Stability with ownership, front office and coaching - that matters. They only have ONE focus - building the team around Steph and a willingness to pay for it, so Steph doesn't have to ask. They already moved on from their 2020 #2 pick - chess moves people. (Make a mistake, fix it, don't compound it by making a worse move). Meanwhile Hawks are playing tiddlywinks.
  5. We have some of the [use more appropriate word] 'fans'
  6. That knee surgery made Bogi or Iron man and other stuff....
  7. I disagree that they have used all of their resources that they had available AT THE START of the season if as Ressler kept saying "the intention was to be a top 6 team and AVOID THE PLAY-IN." These were all the options available at the start of the league year July 1st 2023: 1. The John Collins TPE of $25 million - they used $2 million of it when they traded for Garuba or Tyty 2. The MLE of $12.4 million 3. The Bi-Annual exception of $4.5 million 4. The Huerter TPE of $3.6 million 5. Mo Harkless TPE of $4.6 million 6. The Justin Holiday TPE $6.2 million which they allowed to expire on 02/09/2024 7. The John Collins TPE of $25.3 million - they have since used $2 million of it when they traded for Tyty who they then turned around and traded for another small TPE which expires 07/12/2024. 8. We currently sit $9.1 million under this season's Luxury Tax. And again, this is not me saying to run head first into the Luxury Tax just to do it. But when the INTENTION IS ALWAYS TO AVOID IT NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCE it will always leave me wanting more. (and again just because you start a season over the tax does not mean you end the league year over). I just want us to have a fighting chance to start the season. Not behind the 8-ball from the jump. I live for the day when we start the season with a chance to be considered having a championship worthy team instead of happy to avoid the play-in.
  8. Yes, he's all that! ....and he's carried the weight of the franchise to the ECF run then had to watch talent get stripped to avoid the luxury tax for the last 2 seasons. I said before the issue with the ECF run wasn't that we got there, it's what they didn't do after to have any sustained success and improve the entirety of the roster. Ressler probably said 'we made the ECF without the tax this one time, so why not keep doing that'
  9. Thought so. As you know I'm on the opposite end of that.
  10. Aside from what Trae may want or asked for...Do you think that ownership and front office have done the best possible job in putting a product on the floor, in totality, that's competitive to be top 6 in the East (I added this since they kept saying to avoid the playin this year) based on all of their available resources? A simple Yes or No please.
  11. Hawks make the official announcement
  12. I laughed then I realized how uncomfortable this makes me
  13. Thinking about this even more....why should I be overly concerned about the picks owed to SAS - we can barely make the right selections with the ones we do have. . Our drafting history is 'something'
  14. Almost 6 months later, I'm asking again ( I hate repeating myself ). Best player we can get for the 2025 Sac 1st (protected top 10, then top plus 'player/salary' 2025 Sac 1st plus Bogi = ? 2025 Sac 1st plus Hunter = ? 2025 Sac 1st plus Capela = ? Or some other combination?
  15. Hawks can trade picks 7 years out (as long as we aren't 2nd Apron team which we don't ever have to worry about since we aren't even going to the 1st apron). So we have our 2029 and 2031 1st available. (Not saying we should, but they are available).
  16. Bite your tongue. Besides his propensity to get injured, his +$50 mil price tag, that NTC is a death knell. Rest easy and sleep well - there's no way he's waving that NTC to come to the Hawks.
  17. Help can't be short sighted in getting 'one' guy and not addressing the needs of the rest of the roster. Help is not losing/giving away on court talent/production for 2 straight years with no replacement. Help is not having zero depth. Help is not being reactionary but rather proactive in planning.
  18. This can't be true right???? I can't disagree - they can't get out of their own way! It's always something.
