  1. Anything is possible if you are dumping salary and not taking much back, but not necessarilyrealistic. I'm assuming the 2024-25 salary cap will be around $145 million. Brown would be eligible for a 30% max so a contract starting at $43.5 million. In 2024-25, Hawks are slated to have approximately $138 million of players under contract assuming no DJ extension, or early signings of OO and Bey.
  2. Scal is the one that doesn't understand the steps. Brown won't accept an extension simply because he'll make more money by hitting FAcy when the cap his higher. There is a limit to how much he can make signing an extension to his EXISTING contract vs signing a completely new contract as a FA even if it's with Boston. It's the same reason why DJ won't sign an extension to his current contract. They are limited to 120% of their existing contract. Edit: The new CBA may change the extension limits to 140% - $150%.
  3. Sooo...revisiting. Failed Physical reported and trade on hold on February 10th. Today is March 23rd and Payton may play this Sunday...That is 6 weeks and 2 days! Not 3 months. Gary Payton II may return on Sunday against Minnesota Anthony Slater: Warriors announce that Gary Payton II will take full part in Saturday’s practice. His availability for Sunday against the Timberwolves will be determined after. His return appears imminent. – via Twitter anthonyVslater
  4. Taylor's transparency is cold comfort for the Hawks, according to star guard Trae Young. After the game, Young posted the pool report as an Instagram story, with some comments. "We don't care now," Young wrote. Also: "This goes back to my statement I said at the beginning of the year, refs should be held more accountable ($, suspensions, etc.) just like us. They shouldn't get 'We missed it' passes." https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/hawks-trae-young-says-nba-referees-should-be-held-more-accountable-with-fines-suspensions/
  5. Catch and Shoot, it's the dribble and making any another decision.
  6. Except the bench has not really played in the clutch, meaning the last 2-3 minutes of a game, they are on the bench. They are typically playing the first 5 minutes of the 4th. It would be interesting to see how they perform as a group to close out a nail-biting close game. ...and Welcome to The Squawk!
  7. “One reason the Hawks are trying to unload Collins is to get that cap space and be in a position to add someone, another star, with Trae. It is not easy to get free agents to Atlanta but Jaylen Brown would be different–they want to be in position, at least, to make a move if he wants to be there. I think there is no question they are watching the situation with him. Closely.” – Anonymous Eastern Conference executive
  8. 3 point shooting still a struggle. Low volume compounded with low makes.
  9. This was the biggest flaw in the ATO. Dre doesn't have that quick feel or instinct. Everything is methodical.
  10. Last Word....Again? You sure now? Here is MY LAST WORD! I gave my opinion prior on 'Kong' maybe 2 years ago. AGAIN, I GAVE MY OPINION AND LEFT IT AT THAT. I have seen it posted on occasion and I have not interjected. I am not BROW-BEATING anyone into not using it on this message board unlike what you are attempting to do. If the Mods make a specific request, I will honor that. If you want to call out other squawkers for their posts/likes as it relates to me and me vice versa 'liking' their posts...again, that is a YOU PROBLEM. But as always, Do you Stu, do you!
  11. He's still mad LBJ blocked his shot in the Allstar game....these players mentality is just 'different' or I'm just getting old.
  12. Retroactive technical and fine incoming.
  13. The NBA schedule makers can suck salt,
