  1. Sounds more like LiAngelo Ball. #ShotsFired?
  2. It seems like we pretty much are aligned in our thinking. Agree with your point that ... shiiiiii, we gotta start somewhere. It's why I've come around to being ok with Doncic and/or Young. I was pretty much opposed to either as recently as the start of this week (if i'm being honest). It's also why I like Bamba even though he's not a finished product on O. I can see him being an elite contributor. It's also why I still am ok with Porter despite his obvious warts. Overall, I appreciate having a discussion that didn't devolve into personal attacks and questioning each other's intellect. Seems that's rare these days ... well, let's be honest, there's only one poster incapable of basic discussion. Who could that be though? Hmmmm
  3. I'm not sure there's evidence of this with Bagley. I'd say there's as much evidence to the contrary. Maybe not that he doesn't "want" it, but more so that he's not a player who has the ability to do it (ball-handling, etc.) on his own. Anthony Davis and Chris Bosh, for example, showed more perimeter abilities as FR which suggested they could do those things. Donc has done it over there which does count/matter to me. However, there are some legit concerns about his ability to 'get his' vs consistently higher caliber/more athletic opponents. It's not something that should be ignored. He has indeed been doing that in a competitive, high-level bball league but it is not the NBA. Jan Vesely excels there. Before Doncic, the MVP of their final 4 was Epke Udoh (who? exactly). Let that sink in. We cannot simply assume everything he's doing will translate. Slowly getting by guys, tricky-dribbling and shooting over guys ... it all looks great but there are legitimate questions as to what degree of that will be possible when the overall level of play and athleticism are ratcheted up. I happen to think he will do well in the NBA, but I think whether he ends up as Evan Turner/Hedo Turkoglu or something greater will be heavily dependent on his supporting cast.
  4. I don't like Bagley. I think he'll put up nimbers but not impact winning. Only issue I have on Doncic (aka whiteEvan Turner) is he appears to be an excellent 2nd or 3rd guy. Basically a SF version of Alice. Can't be a 1st option but is an excellent support player. At this point, if we take Doncic, we'd need him to be 'the guy'. Another in a long line of instances of us trying to force a guy to be something he's not. Doesn't mean he's not a good player. Just means it'd only work here if we proceed with the knowledge that we're still in need of the guy.
  5. We're like 2 ships passing in the night since Porter and I seem to be growing apart. I'm sorry (not sorry), Michael The kg-brand list is as follows: 1. #ParaBailarLaBamba 2. #Ayton2A_Town . . 3. #TheMPorter_Jr 4. #BaDonkaDoncic 5. #TYoung&TheRestless
  6. I promise I will .... after an appropriate gripe period. I mean, what else am I gon' do? Go be a Twolves fan? Who does that?
  7. Post of the year. I know I'm new here, but seems like it'd take less than has been said to get bann'd.
  8. I just find it funny that everybody hates Dennis' "selfish", shoot-first(y) play but somehow think they'll love Young skraight jakin' up halfcourt shots 'cause he just feels like it and abusing Spalding until he finds a shot/pass he likes. Sure the supposed duds on the Sooner squad went along with it. Sure has-been Kreuger went along with it. What TF were they gonna say? Real NBA coaches/players will get tired-a that act in short order.
  9. It's something people are willfully ignoring and it's maddening. Also, I'm cooling on Porter a bit which will shock my fans (). I'm cooling on everyone, honestly. I'm almost more interested in the 19 and 30th picks than I am 3. I almost expect 3 to bust but also expect the 19 and 30 to salve the wound. *sigh* Life as a Hawks fan.
  10. Yeah, a guy unable to get his own shot should NEVER be compared to TX Durant. He was dropping 30-burgers easily. JJJ barely drops 30 in 4-5 games combined.
  11. The Porter-KD comp isnt crazy at all. He's one of the view prospects who have offensive talent sufficient enough to build around. I disagree withon JJJ, Bagley and Bamba. I think Bamba is the next Giannis.
  12. It's ok. We're keep a seat warm for you once you realize Bagley's closer to a Tyler Handsblow type, highly-productive college effort guy that may/may not pan out once the overall talent level evens out across the 10 dudes on the court.
  13. This sums up how I feel about Bamba. I think he has room to grow offensively. Like, he's not offensively bereft like people who haven't seen him play keep saying. A case can be made that he's a better prospect than Ayton who gets the ink because of his offensive reper ... repertoi ... repat ... skillset (nice save, kg ) .. but he's so lop-sided towards O that it should be more of a concern than it seems to be. I'm really disappointed in my guy @NBASupes who was on the Bamba-wagon all season long then suddenly shifted to the Bagley-copter. Thas messed up, KingSupes.
  14. I like Wagner as a late-2 throwaway pick. Highly likely to be college fool's gold. Bullying college kids like Tyler Handsblow used to. Lack of defense hurts immensely imho.
  15. At this point, I don't blame the dingo for continuoulsly eating our babies. I blame us for continuing to lay out scraps to keep the dingo coming back. On topic .... Euroleague scout, Austin Green was on NBARadio Saturday. Nothing earth-shaking but did mention the likelihood that Doncic would choose not to come over for certain teams was an over-stated assumption. IOW, all the talk that he doesn't want to come over for the Hawks or anyone else was just that ... talk.
  16. Agree with all you said. Doesn't matter, in the grand scheme of things, but it is nice to see him publicly embracing the city/community. Only evidence I recall of Budz doing the same was him attending GT games with his son. Didn't appear to be in Buttz personality to do stuff like this, which is fine. Brett Brown did the same PR-type stuff in PHI. Played up to the media, made himself a cult hero despite imho being a mediocre coach. Hope CLP can be a 'face' and a good coach.
  17. I'v been using the virtual 'ignore' button on ...certain posters. Works wonders. Best candidates for 3 for kg ... Porter, Bamba. Rip away ....
  18. So help me .... if I ever figure how to sig that .... you're gon' be famous.
  19. Ah man, how do I edit my sig? I must capture this spud moment.
  20. I will be creatively sig'ng this, btw. I'd say take Porter or Bamba and let someone else take them busts.
  21. I think JJJ will be a bizarro mix between Noah Vonleh and Marquise Criss.
  22. Egggsactly. I get switching when you absolutely need to but now teams just automatically switch. They don't even try to fight through screens. It comes back to bite teams in situations where they need to stay connected. Every time a guy pops for an open shot, you see the 2 defenders do the whole 'palms up, what were you doing?' thing.
  23. Nah, it's like saying Trae Young is overrated to the point where I'd prefer we sign the player who's destiny I expect him to mimic. Similar names was just a coincidence. That said, I bet NPH could get buckets in the post.
