This should not be ignored. There was a good bit of luck involved with that PHI has right now. They had not one but two serious injury situations come up roses. Not to mention like 4 1st rounders they picked that failed spectacularly. I hope we blaze our own plan instead of trying to follow someone else's.

I've been saying for years that he rides to work in a clown car. All the media turds fell in love with him since Hinke forced him to be the media face throughout the tank fiasco. They all give him a universal pass as a result. The reality is he's not that great a coach. Have they ever done anything insightful or innovative? Smells like he just says, "Bwah, go owt theyuh, dribble it arownd and jak up shots ... no, give it to Jo-el, bwah."

It was also briefly mentioned that Stotts may not be totally safe either. On top of that, it's smelling like Casey isn't a sure thing to return to TOR. Not that we're waiting to possibly hire Casey or anything, but IOW there are probably still a couple dominos that haven't fallen yet.

You have to forgive me, I'm new here. On topic, I'm also glad Larranaga's still available if for no other reason than it means we get our choice rather than simply taking who's left then acting like he was our 1st pick. After reading a bit on Lloyd, I'd be cool with him too. Although the 6ers are being out-executed (not necessarily out-coached, shout out @MaceCase), Pierce has a good rep as a player devel. guy. A con a read on Larranaga was the fact that it's quite possible the success they have is system-related and it's tied more to Stevens than the assistants. Just food for thought. I still like the guy.

Me either but, then again, I'm also not a fan of Rick Carlisle which would probably surprise some folks. He's a great coach but only when he has exactly the perfect roster. Anything less than the perfect roster? Eh.

Not to mention the fact that Van Gone-dy is kinda overrated as a coach anyways. Plus he's not known as a guy that develops talent.

Well, I should elaborate a bit on what I said. I'm starting to think Ressler as a meddler behind the scenes. I can see an owner like that thinking, "Oh hey, this is Labron's guy .... mebe he can get us a meeting with Labron ... hire him!!" Meanwhile, Schlenki is like, "Uhm, it's Lebron, sir." No one considers Tatum, Brown, etc as generational talents. Most people see Embiid and Simmons as legendary players. Clearly it's way early to be saying silly stuff like that but folks talk about Embiid as Olajuwon and Simmons as Magic.

I think, if you look at the nuts/bolts of how the Seees are beating them, there's a pretty wide discrepancy in these coaching staffs. PHI has more raw talent on the floor and the margin is pretty wide IMHO but, even if you factor the 6ers' youth depressing their play, the Seees are much more impressive. I want Larranaga over the Philly guy but I have a feeling the Philly guy will get a bump for being Lebron's friend ... as if that matters for us.

The Seeees beating the 6ers doesn't necessarily equate to Alice (yep i did it) dominating Embiid. It's a team sport.

One thing to note though, is she's on the back-bench (I think that's the right term). I heard some folks on NBARadio discussing it and they made mention of that fact. They were actually excited about her becoming a HC but noted that it's actually rare for a coach to become a HC without ever actually being a team's top 1-3 assistant. IIUC, it has happened but we shouldn't be discouraged if she simply interviews this go 'round. The next logical step for any person in her current position is actually top assistant. I don't want to see her hired simply, or even partially, due to the PR. That does her a disservice and sets her up for failure, jmho.

Dang, word is MIL will interview Becky H. Budenz not among the first batch of interviews it seems. Say where they're expected to see upwards of 10 candidates so he'll probably get a courtesy sitdown. Maybe he can be Becks' replacement in SAS?
