Knecht is an interesting eval. The dude comps really similar to Bogi imo for good and bad. If his defense was passable I think he would be a top 10-15 lock but he's probably gonna be the guy that slides then a team like the Heat take him and everybody goes "How did this guy fall". If hawks move off of bogi or someone I wouldn't mind him at all.

Cody is a tough assessment for me in this draft and his fit with the hawks. I don't really buy his handle and he doesn't have elite athleticism. Feel like he is getting a bump from who is brother is ngl. I still rate him highly overall but I think the hawks don't a guy who at this point only projects as a scorer as the 3. Think we need more versatility on both ends of the court at that spot. Holland defensively is so good that he has to be top of the wing group imo and I buy his jumper long term. Funny enough, I absolutely LOVE castle. I think he is a clear cut top guy in this draft. He is also an absolutely perfect fit at the 2 next to Trae. Only reason I didn't list him is because I know how much Quin loves and views Kobe I would envision he is starting at the 2 next year so it felt like a double dip.

I'll start. Assuming the kings pick conveys I think the draft philosophy should be pretty simple. Add 1 wing and Add 1 big: Wings I have my eye on: Holland, Risacher, Furphy, Matas, Cody Williams in that order. Bigs I have my eye on: Sarr, Ware, Flip, Missi, Holmes in that order

Wanted to create a thread separate from the Zach Edey thread for all things draft, unless there is one already. Who do you guys want the Hawks to target? Who are you guys watching in college.

Yup been a problem all year tbh. Quin rides his guys a lot and when your rotation at the start of the season was mainly 8 guys I think it starts to pile up quick.

Yeah his injury couldn't have happened at a worse time smh. Think they were really gonna come out of the break and continue to start him

You are underselling what Onyeka did as a starter lol. The most recent stint when clint was out he showed off the entire toolset

Sarr is a 4 more than a 5 which is perfect for us if we somehow won the lottery. Clingan is the other big that fits and he might even get better if they remove defensive 3 in the summer. Bradshaw and Oso shouldn't even be considered with where their pick will fall. Missi is the guy the hawks should get to replace clint in the summer with the kings pick if it conveys

we haven't really played a single good offensive team to say this. Every team we have played since Trae went down has been missing people or bad. Defense got torched by a crappy nets team missing their best scorer

Reduction in talent to get a better fit should lead to better results. No clue what they do at this moment but I know watching Trae and Murray iso one after another isn’t the move

Holding players until they lose all their value is what hawks do best so it wouldn’t shock me but they know that pairing don’t work

Yup. They should look to move him. Doubt they will but it should be on table

Murray will not be here lol. Him and Trae do not work in any scenario

Tanking is the best option for the Hawks right now.
Mikey replied to givemesome1ce1's topic in Homecourt
Just because you say they won’t do that doesn’t eliminate that as a potential outcome lol. Victor wants to win and he will be too good next year for them to land a good pick. Not to mention Trae wants to play with wemby. It’s there if they want it. They just don’t want it -

If they were smart they would keep Kobe jalen and O and tank for 2025 and 2026. The pieces are there if they just land that high level guy they could be legit. Sadly Quin doesn’t want anything to do with a rebuild so I doubt this happens unless Trae asks out -
Don’t let him tell you you’re wrong lol. Purdue pace is so slow and in the tourney they struggled against significantly smaller and worse teams just cause they got him out in 5 out. He will get played off at the next level very easily he can only play drop and if they get rid of the defensive 3 he gets some more value but this is not some guy you get with a top 10 pick Should certainly be a priority for the hawks. Unfortunately I don’t think that will come for AJ this season

Tbf this is an edey thread not a draft thread imo. So the discourse I have is centered on edey if he sits at 1 on your board that’s fine to me you make good points for his case but there’s plenty of concern with his game and the hawks landing a top 10 pick to take Zach edey would be an outrageously bad use of assets

The franchise will be there long after Trae has to make his decision. You are not making your decisions for something in 2 years when Trae will likely have decided before or he will take the money and be there for an extra year. You know who also won't be good when you need him... Zach Edey. Would be an absolute waste of a pick and horrible asset management to take a low floor and low ceiling big who can't function in your system because Trae might ask out

This is what happens when he gets starter minutes. keep telling you guys stop overthinking it. They have two of the three front court starters. Find the third that compliments the two
