  1. He was awesome. He's been worth every penny too, far as I'm concerned.
  2. Wow was JJ playing some ball tonight. That was a dominant performance reminiscent of the kind of thing Dominique used to be able to do. That was really beautiful to see.
  3. Quote: He is a rookie making faces. Let's not act like he just started a brawl in the stands. Well I didn't see the game, but the part of the article that really bothered me was the implication that he was so pouty and so pissy at the end there, that he gave a desultory effort in trying to go after a loose ball. So that goes way beyond acting childish on the bench, that's acting like a prick out on the floor- and may have sabotaged our chance to win the game. That is not acceptable, in any way, shape or form. That kind of insubordination can just poison the whole atmosphere around the team- especially a team as young as this one is. And to carry your pissy attitude out onto the floor with you is just unforgivable in my opinion. That cannot be allowed to go on.
  4. Sounds like JB needs to get back on the meds!Nurse Ratchett, we need to raise his Thorazine levels, STAT!
  5. It's just so silly. Now I'm fully expecting 'TheArtist' to disappear and JohnnyBravo to resurface with yet *another* identity. Aye yi yi, make it stop.
  6. Quote: Something tells me that Isiah will try to get both KG and Lebron in NY. I would not be at all suprised to see him make a play for Garnett, since he's on the outs in Minnesota and supposedly may be on the block this summer. What the heck, the payroll's already at 120 million. What's another 50, 60, 70 million?
  7. Quote: Well, if it's a fools deal for us to do, why do we all the sudden expect Chicago, NY, Denver to do it for Al?? Well actually I think we could expect something along those lines from NY since it's been proven that Isiah is an idiot, but point taken and aside from that, NY has not much to offer us anyways.
  8. Quote: yes, they are the same person, VERIFIED BY IP Doh! That's called getting busted, hard. Give Dr. Zachary a cookie for his excellent detective work.
  9. Quote: I think you guys are being way too hard on salim. I don't like his attitude either, but it's his first year in the NBA, probably the first year that he's had to lose this much, and probably the first year that he's played this little. Well that might be true, but the fact that the guy also had multiple problems with Lute Olson (who is as easy a coach to play for as any in the country- he is *not* a ballbuster by any stretch) while at Arizona and had a reputation as an attitude-problem and a headcase.....you know, that might just indicate the fact that the guy is just a jerk, and we might just have to face that. Woody's laid-back too, and this kid is giving him all kinds of attitude. That's just not right.
  10. Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me to see Salim go the way of the dodo bird as far as his career in Atlanta is concerned. It's a shame because he is a talented player, but he really needs to grow up and stop acting like a little puke.
  11. Though still very far from being world-beaters, we are undoubtedly an improved team capable of beating anyone on any given night, and we have proven that. We're generally right there and competitive in almost every game, as relative to what we used to be. Even the other night when we lost in Detroit by 10 points, that's a game that a year or two ago we'd have lost by 20, or 30. Anyways, that's really all I ask for is that we show signs of improvement, even if incremental and despite the occasional unavoidable hiccups along the way. And we have done that, we're a better team. It's impossible to deny that.
  12. Quote: Whether it's him or not, you know JB is still reading the forums... Well, in any case JohnnyBravo's departure was not a permanent one. He did say he'd be back when it comes time for the draft. I think he was just so disgusted by the fact that we didn't trade Harrington yesterday that he wigged-out and decided to take a little break from the Hawks for awhile....or so he said. But if he's a true fan, which I suspect he is, I think he'll find it very hard to just walk away from his team- even just temporarily.
  13. Quote: He does look a lot like Urkel, though. But then again, the guy that played Urkel is supposed to be a good basketball player. I wonder if they are related? I dunno, but when I lived in Denver back in the '90s I lived just a couple blocks away from Gary Coleman's house- he of the Diff'rent Strokes and "Whatchu talkin' about, Willis?" fame. Anyways, I'd see him out there shooting hoops from time to time and he wasn't a bad player. He had a nice shot, way better than mine. I'd also run into him semi-frequently when he was out walking his dog. He was a friendly sort, very unassuming, not stuck-up at all and would always say hello. He seemed like a very nice guy.
  14. I thought he may have been 'the artist formerly known as Prince but who now goes by only a strange and unpronounceable symbol', but yeah, your theory sounds more likely.
  15. Quote: I thought it was a step in the right direction. Agree. I see nothing wrong with it, it's good PR. I'm assuming the Hawks realized that a lot of fans would be disappointed that no moves were made yesterday, so they sent this letter out to try and defuse that somewhat- to show that yes they are aware and yes they do care greatly about making this team better, but that that's an ongoing process, and the fact that no trades were made yesterday should by no means be taken by the fans as indicating that Hawks management is stupid or just doesn't care- because that's not the way it is. So I think the letter was a good gesture, and is much better than having them obviously not give a crap and just ignore the fans completely, eh?
  16. Well good. At least we now know officially that there are teams out there with a strong interest in Harrington. Now hopefully that interest will only strengthen and grow- so they'll *really* be willing and able to give us something good for him this summer when we SNT him.
  17. Quote: At least with Zeke his fan base knows that he is trying to do something..I mean look at his talent Dude, you are totally ignoring the fact that with all those older, huge money players, many immoveable and signed to long, long contracts, plus all the picks he's sent away to trade for those players...that franchise is going to be screwed for years. It's a horrible mess and he's an abominable GM- and his team STILL sucks. They're friggin terrible. You should very much count yourself lucky that we *haven't* got a general manager like that here.
  18. Wow is right. It's alright to feel angry and vent if that's what you feel you need to do, but IMO that was just a little bit over the top there, buddy. The one thing I am very shocked that apparently didn't go down today was a trade of Tony Delk.....for anything. I just fail to understand the point in hanging onto a player (and using up a valuable roster spot) when you obviously have shown no intention of using that player- for whatever the reason might be. Maybe we're trying to let him get the season record for piling up DNP- Coaches Choice or something. Beyond that, it's really difficult to understand why he's still here.

    Black Thursday

I won't feel overly depressed about it if Al isn't traded today, nor will I feel that's an indication that BK is an idiot or a thickheaded, stubborn fool or that the franchise is going to hell in a handbasket or any of that stuff. I will take it to probably mean that the deals just weren't out there, and that Hawks management felt that any trade of Al at this time would just not be worth what we get in return, and that they'll be better off waiting till this summer to do something with Al... so I'm fine with that. I'd much rather we stand pat and make no trade at all rather than make a bad trade or a trade that isn't likely to help us much. But what this does is really put the pressure on BK and company do something positive with this situation this summer. If it ends up where Al ends up walking away for nothing- *then* I will be upset and pissed. But as of now, not so much.
  20. Eh, he got his feelings hurt. It happens, so you just have to let it go. The fact he continues to dwell on the snub is not healthy in my opinion, and it's also very pointless. He's made himself a career and will make himself a lot of money in Seattle- so just be happy with that, count your blessings, enjoy life, move on. It's really not that hard to do. IMO he has very little right to be bitter, as he has a blessed life compared to the vast majority of people on earth- and there are people out there on the streets homeless and living in dumpsters and such.
  21. Ahahaha. I love reading the arguments between Diesel and Luefan, errr Exodus. Funny stuff, and you can bet money that at least once during the argument Diesel will say "Damn, did you watch the game??" or something along very similar lines. That is as predictable as the sun rising in the east every morning.
  22. I predict he'll be traded on Thursday. To whom and for whom or what, I have no idea. But that is my gut feeling so that's what I'll go with.
  23. Diesel, may I *never* again hear you dissing other Hawks fans for coming up with fantasy trades for the sake of making fantasy trades.....lest I shall have to call you an uber-hypocrite and quite possibly feel the need to get medieval on yo ass.
  24. I really like the way he plays. I don't see any reason why he has to limited to a reserve role as his peak, this early in his career and as inexperienced as he is. His future is still an open book as far as I'm concerned. He could continue to develop and become a good starter, or he might not. But it's way too early to pigeonhole him as just a backup. You never know what the future might bring, and he would be far from the first unheralded player to go on to bigger and better things. At any rate, he seems to have a pretty good idea of what's going on out there and he does not seem overwhelmed in the least. Those are good signs. He looks like a pretty good young player, and I like him quite a lot.
