  1. I am not sure what your thoughts on the Roy non-pick were Warcore, but this pick would not make sense for the Hawks IMO. It seems like BK has made it clear that he doesn't want a hybrid PG because they can't keep up with smaller, quicker PGs. I am curious to know how those that defended not picking Roy/Foye feel about this possible pick. Personally, I was rather undecided in this past draft and just decided to cheer for who we got. And to be honest, I still don't know if getting a hybrid PG would be a good idea. I think I will have to lean toward no due to us having to put JJ at the 2 so soon last year. So my final answer is that this guy is not the best choice and I would rather us get a true PG or C in the draft next year.
  2. Quote: 5. I'm glad we signed Lue. I am thankful that Lue actually WANTED to resign with us.
  3. I can maybe see the three more to Bozeman, but I would give those 5 you are giving to Salim to Chill instead. He needs more than 23 a night.
  4. My starting five would be Speedy/JJ/Marvin/Sheldon/Zaza with Lue/Chill/Josh/Lo off the bench. That is a solid 9 man rotation IMO. Specifically for the starters, I think we need Marvin starting because he can be a true 2nd option. That way, we will have two good options for the starters (JJ, Marvin) and two good options for the second unit (Lue, Chill) with the other guys picking up the slack.
  5. Does anybody know how long Speedy is going to be out?
  6. I noticed him running the drills before the Magic game and he was very impressive. Since he can shoot good with one hand, I wonder what he will be able to do when he gets the other back? It will be great when he is ready to go. Marvin is going to be our 2nd option I believe (or at least share it with Zaza).
  7. Did anybody's personal information get compromised or did they just screw up the site so that it did not work?
  8. Looks like I am going to miss the game, too. My drive would be about 60-90 minutes, so that is a factor. With school getting so busy, I just can't justify going to the game this time. That is, unless I somehow talk myself into it! NO! I cannot go. Well..... Whoops. My bad guys. I guess I just started "typing out loud".
  9. If I get to go, I will probably end up where you guys are. I will be in my red Hawks fisherman hat and red hawks T.
  10. Is anyone going to the game on Saturday? If so, where are you sitting? The reason I ask is because I am thinking about going to the game but don't know anyone else who is going. It would be a good chance to meet so fellow Squawkers.
  11. Yes! He was catching the ball off screens with one hand and then shooting jumpers...all in one motion no less. It was impressive. That is part of why I think he is going to be so good. That one handed shot was better than most of the other guys when they shoot regularly.
  12. Good point. He was shooting very good today. I guess I was viewing it in more of an all-around fashion because Hill seemed to be the only player on the floor giving 110% sometimes.
  13. I agree about him being a classy guy. It was kind of surprising to see how much he still has left in the tank. He was Orlando's best player today.
  14. Got the chance to go to the game today and I have to agree. The Hawks were playing some very energetic and pesky defense today. Speedy seems to be getting more comfortable and through that is starting to annoy the crap out of other team's PG. There were many plays today where he absolutely refused to let his man the the ball back from a handoff screen. It was great. The other thing that is different on D this year is that our bigs are showing after their man screens. That effort was consistant today and made life very difficult for Orlando when they were trying to get in a rhythm.
  15. Josh did play a better game today. And you are right that he is better at defending the post. I watched Grant Hill absolutely abuse him a couple of times today. Dribbling is not a bright spot either. On the flip side, however, Josh did have some great blocks. But most of all, the rebounds and boxing out that I saw today were his biggest contribution.
  16. Zaza kept getting screwed over by Joey Crawford. It seemed like he had a vendetta against Zaza for some reason. And like someone said, Zaza was getting whistled for nitpicky stuff while the guys guarding him were slapping the skin off his arm or pushing him down and not getting called.
  17. Did anyone else get the chance to see Marvin going through drills before the game today? He was looking awesome IMO. His shot is still better than half the guys on the team and he was shooting it after coming off screens...and doing it all with one hand! I was very impressed. Getting him back is going to be huge. JJ, Zaza, and Marvin will be our big three by the end of the year in the scoring column.
  18. No worries. Just let me know when you plan to catch a game again and I will do the same. Having seats that good is probably not going to happen again, so I will be back in the cheap seats unless the good people from Atlanta Spirit want to let me get those seats again for $25. Did you have a friend with you today Dr. Zach?
  19. Man that was one awesome game today. The atmosphere was great, fans got into it, and our Hawks came to play!
  20. God just worked it out that good tickets were available. I was not expecting to be sitting anywhere near where we are to begin with. The only reason I decided to go was because there was a sale and I just finished my second round of tests for the year. It just so happened that the good people who put on the sale helped me out with the seats we got. Like I said, it is a long story. I am grateful to get them, though. Let me know when you are going to a game this year and I will see if I can get to the game.
  21. We got section 114 because of the deal they had going on. It is a long story, but lets just say getting those seats was how they fixed a mistake. We ended up getting them at the $25 price. Regardless of where anyone sits, though, maybe we can meet before the game. Anyone? Swatguy? Dr. Zach?
  22. I will be at the game in section 114 row V. There will be five of us all together. You can find me in a red Hawks T-shirt, my Hawks fisherman's hat, and a beard (I am also 6'1"). I would welcome the chance to meet any Squawkers. We will be there about 12:30, so there will be plenty of time to meet up. I will also possibly be hanging around a little while after the game, too. PS -- Are you going Dr. Zach?
  23. Graymule has had unwavering optimism with all things involving our Hawks (and probably most things in general) the entire time I have been on this site. He is a big part in what makes this site good IMO.
