  1. Count me in!! Playing ball or going to the game. I would love to take some of you to the hole.
  2. I see the positives in this trade. The deal that portland was offering a 35 to 40 mil deal for 4 years, Rasheed didn't respond. I heard that he didn't want to be there anyway. I think we could offer the same deal to Rasheed and have enough cap space to go after Kobe. Like Trace said, even if we can't resign him we have more cash to stack a good enough squad to get Kobe to look our way. I am not sure I want Rasheed because of his additude, but he is a better player than Reef. He may not be as intelligent or have the numbers, but he is basketball smart and has size and talent. I don't really care if Rasheed smokes all the weed in ATL, well yeah I do. But I don't think that makes this a bad trade unless he doesn't get to play because of it.
  3. I will miss those guys as well, and will hope they will go far in the playoffs. But do you really think they will run that lineup. Randolph is playing some of the best ball of his life at the center pos. Unfortunely, I am thinking that Theo will come off the bench, and Reef will be their clean version of Rasheed at PF.
  4. And hopes it works out that he gets enough playing time for the knicks or anyother team can see his skills.

    Nice Work

Great job on the site. I love it.
  6. for superman or something. He is good at his position and he is the most consistant player on our team. I guess when you are tired of losing and tired of the team looking so bad you bash what you got. I am sorry for being that sinceless basher. However, I am a Hawks fan for life and I am hurting, I have been hurting since "The Human Highlight" was traded. Please forgive me!
  7. Yes I watch the games, almost all as sad as that is. And I know he also shoots 50%. He also shoots 85%+ from the line. But tell me this, what new moves have you seen Reef develop? We know his moves and so does the players in the league that has to defend him. True enough, he gets his numbers but when they count the most, he is not the man. If he can't find the open man when he is doubled than the answer is simple for the opponets to stop us. Double Reef when he puts the ball on the ground. When teams do this he loses the ball or throws it away. Teams don't have to do this but at the crital times in the game to win and Reef is not smart enough to stop it consistanly.
  8. Well, in the comparison to Webber, Reef falls way short. Mainly because Reef can't pass out of a double team, or even pass well at all for that matter. However, I do agree that Reef is almost unstopable in his few spots. But, teams (well coached teams) know that they can send a double team at him and he will nut up. I also agree with you that Reef is the back bone of this team and we do not win when he is off. But because of his lack of abilty or heart on the defencive end he is just as much as a cancer as JT. Sometimes Reef our leader stays down the court arguing with the Ref after he has just threw the ball away instead of getting down the court and causes the team to go down even more. I don't want to seem like I am saying that Reef is a bad player, I am just saying that he is not smart enough to be a on the court leader for the team like a CWebb or KG.
  9. I have heard you suggest. Reef puts up numbers but is not smart enough to win the close games. Reef lives at the line! We all know that you don't get the cry baby calls in the playoffs when you live at the line ie. Karl Malone. To be honest with all of the true atl fans out there REEF NEEDS TO GO. I don't know if it is the injury that has caused his hops to go away, but something is not there. HE LEADS THE LEAGUE IN GETTING HIS SHOTS BLOCKED! What kind of leader of a team can he be. This leader that you say that we should "Rebuild around" doesn't even run down the court after he throws the ball to the other team. Man I can't say enough about how dumb of a suggestion that is to rebuild around Reef. BTW, Happy New Year to all the Hawksquawk members!
  10. By picking him up will have one of the few 7 footers in the east.
  11. [url=http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile.php?playerid=110http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile.php?playerid=110'>]http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile.php?playerid=110 has been going down since the 99-00 season. Thinking back on his effort getting down the court and hussle on D. I wonder if he wants to be here or if his knees are worse than we have been told. I know the back injury hurt his last season stats and the transition to the Hawks could have been the reason for the year before. But I just haven't seen the player that I thought we had when we got him. On the positive note: His Freethrow percentage is going up. I think he is a Karl Malone look a like. (He never got a ring)
  12. in the season last year. I always wanted Hendu gone, but last year he started playing with more heart and engery. I was often surprised when he would go up and Dunk on players and fight for the O boards. I think Hendu is a strong back up and he will show it with the new owners in town and him only having a few years left on that long @ss contract.
  13. Said to be a shooter... What do yall know about him?
  14. To the 2 and be the first opt again?
  15. I don't see how that helps Jt in the backcourt. This is some of the info I found on him, http://www.geocities.com/nbarookies/2002nb...iaw-riffiod.htm
  16. A few more all star moves. You know the ones that are undefendable like KG has. Like Shaq has. Like even Ray Allen or Rasheed W. All star players have those kind of moves and Reef just dont have them. He depends on calls and the refs for the stats he gets. That is the diffrence in him and his salarie. But you are right about other players out there that do worse and need to be given smaller contracts but that doesn't excuse him. I say trade him for more heart and hussel on the court, and maybe we can get someone that can hold the ball and pass out of double teams.
  17. He seems to be talking to the players and helping them see diffrent things on the court. That is something that Lon didn't do, well couldn't do being he never played. I like the press and intencty I see on the defencive end and the ball control on the other.
  18. stopped watching the games to the end. I didn't even rush to see the beginning when I get the update on my cell. I had lost all confidence in the team ability play basketball. Lon had no answer to the turnover problem or to the problem to the lack of intencity in the end or beginning of games. He didn't have the experince to design plays to get key players involed in the game and critial times in the game. His main play was to design plays to create one on one situations so that the players could free style. Drive and dish and pick and role. That was the entire offence and that is not acceptable. Lon needed to be fired last year when his main reason for being here (Young player development) was not evident. And I know Lon was a cool guy and all but just not a effective NBA coach and he needed to go. I really didn't care who replaced him.
  19. we improve two of the three things that Lon did so bad. 1. Motivate the players... 2. Define player roles.... 3. Call Plays.. All three Lon did bad and if only 2 of the 3 is improved we can make the playoffs. I know the Defence sucks but I think that will come with player motivation or/and Defined player roles. So it will be included. I don't know who Scotts is but I think anything will be a improvement from our current play. See you in the playoffs!!!!
  20. "Go out there and make something happen" and that is said to anyone that listens. Lately noone!!
  21. Lon. He is the coach of the team and that is enough said. If a player is not running the plays right he needs to be benched. If a player is not giving his all on defence he needs to be benched. If a player is not focused on making good passes he needs to be benched. But I blame Lon because they don't know what to do out there. They have no on the court leadership and that comes from no one getting the role. The don't have an answer to the double team because they are not coached to know. The lack of roles, lack of play design, the lack of fire in the players a$$ is all a reflection of the lack of coaching. Lon needs to be fired and it is not because he is a bad guy but a bad NBA coach.
