Guest
taken from an ESPN the Mag article currently on the NBA section of ESPN...I for one am really starting to like this acquisition. From everything I've been able to gather, he super athletic and aggressive - "sparkplug" off the bench. IMO it makes starting Ira that much easier to do as we now have another energy/ defensive stopper on the bench. Put him in with Dion and you have your offensive/ defensive combo at the swing position... ..."Soon enough, it's game time, and the action is all-out. Robert Horry pushes the ball just over midcourt before zipping a cross-court chest pass to Lewis. Francis breaks for the ball like a DB, picking it off with nothing but hardwood between him and showtime. But Lewis gives chase, catches up to Steve and drapes his 6'10" body over the airborne Francis. With no shot, Francis calmly drops a no-look pass over his shoulder into the hands of trailing teammate Darvin Ham. A drop-step later, Ham two-hand tomahawks the rim into submission. Ball game. Next. Francis and Ham high-five it down the court while a disgusted Horry takes a seat and fumes about his miscue. The lesson? Bring your A-game here or you'll sit. Rings or no rings." Guest
Sorry about that - yeah, it's a bit about NBA players working out in Houston over the summer. The clip is about a pick-up game that was going on when the reporters were there (obviously Ham and Francis were playing on the same team). It goes on to talk about how John Lucas is the primary "coach" on hand there, working with players (in particular Francis) on ball-handling and conditioning, including an 8am start time for running on the track...
