Gray Mule
In all sports, the ones doing the scoring get the most notice in the press. But, it is the defense that can make the biggest difference. Current hawk's roster should show improved defense over last season's team. Our defense was hurt when we lost DerMarr Johnson for the season. We said the same thing last season when Theo Ratliff couldn't play. Nazr did a good job being a starter for the first time in his N.B.A. carreer, but defensively, he was no Theo. The press mostly say that Big Dawg is very good offensively and very poor defensively. Fans who have followed his play for his former team and who post say that he is a lot better defensively that given credit for. We shall see. Having Theo in the lineup with him sure won't hurt. Second unit players may be the real key to how well our defense preforms. Nazr will be much better, not having to start and having a years experience behind him. He has added upper body strength since last year. Ham is a defensive specialist. Henderson can play strong under the boards. Crawford is good, if not great. Dickau is said to be tough. beav
"When Dion Glover was asked about the shooting guard competition and what he would need to do to win the job, what was his response? Defense. " Well, the first step to recovery is admitting the problem, right?
