Gray Mule
No, not the Atlanta or Georgia teams -- High School. Murphy, N.C. Bulldogs 6-2 record -- 4-0 Conference Hayesville, N.C. Jackets 7-2 record -- 4-0 Conference Hayesville beat Murphy in 1997, their only victory in about 20 years. Where is this place? Get a ruler and draw a line from Asheville, N.C. to Chattanooga, Tenn. Now draw another line from Atlanta, Georgia to Knoxville, Tenn. Where these two lines cross is where we are in Western Carolina. About 2 hours from anywhere, it is said. Game is in Hayesville. Wish the Yellowjackets luck tonight. citizen-times.com [the Asheville paper, covers this and other high school football] Gray Mule
Gray Mule
Bulldogs 21- Yellowjackets - 6 Hayesville will still go to state playoffs in the little A division -- Bulldogs will go in the big A. They are a much bigger school. Around here, this is much bigger game than the Georgia - Florida matchup because everyone knows everyone else, being neighboring towns.
