DrReality
RealGM has team reps posting for all teams what their needs are, who is available and who is not. Here's the link: http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=743581 Didn't see anything unexpected about the Hawks but it does give a list of who may be out there. Food for thought. hussamga
I think if we dont trade for a big contract, we should split resources into two trades...one centering around childress, the other centering around shelden/pach and expiring to strengthen bench. Like Shelden+salim+2nd rnd pick for West(expiring)+wilkins(3yr $3m per) from SEA..switch shelden with childress and see if they give us back a 2nd pick if that is low ball offer. That gives us scoring off the bench in wilkins who leaked to the press his displeasure in diminished role (west has too). West is combo G who can pass but better at scoring. We try him out and if he is worth it, resign him for 3yrs at 4-5m per. If we still have childress after that somehow, trade him + fillers for a 2009 protected first and avg big, to middle of the pack team looking to solidify roster in playoffs. The future first is so we can keep adding low price talent after we are over the cap. Basically Childress is worth a 15-30th 1st rnd pick, while shelden isnt. I see Childress as expendable if we are looking to trade b4 the deadline for scoring help or PG. If we stay the course, resign him in summer and the shooter at Midlevel if we can find one or sign n trade him.
