Atlanta - With the hiring of Terry Porter in Milwaukee, it appears the Hawks still have their coach in Terry Stotts. Do they want to keep him is what seems to be the question now. Whether or not he got the Bucks job, Stotts seemed happy to have been involved with the Atlanta organization. They are going through a period of upheaval, however, and now his future with the Hawks could be in question.

steve smith reunion?

Free-agent swingman Steve Smith, 34, who was relegated to cheerleader during the Spurs' run to the title after leading the league in 3-point percentage the year before, is interested in rejoining the Heat, with whom he played from 1991-95.

"[GM] Randy [Pfund] called and said there's an interest," said Smith's agent, Charles Tucker. "First of all, he likes Pat because he makes him do what he's capable of doing. He plays three positions, which Pat likes, and he has a following down there."

The Nuggets, Hawks and Lakers apparently have expressed interest in Smith.

"I started in the NBDL as a head coach and then went to the Atlanta Hawks as a player development coach and then moved to an assistant coach. I'm happy with that experience," English said. "I've worked with two very good coaches, Lon Kruger and Terry Stotts (in Atlanta). I learned a lot from them, and I feel that there is a lot more for me to learn, and a lot more knowledge for me to share."
