Boondocks
In reply to: SHOOTING-GUARD SEARCH: The Nuggets made little effort last summer to re-sign shooting guard Voshon Lenard. They're being more aggressive this time around. Bzdelik said Thursday that the Nuggets have had several conversations with Lenard's agent, Joel Bell. After playing for the Nuggets from 2000-02, Lenard left as a free agent and averaged a career-most 14.3 points for Toronto last season while playing under a one-year contract. "There have been talks with his agent," Bzdelik said. "He fits what's we're looking for in a two guard, and that's shooting." Other free-agent shooting guards being considered by the Nuggets include Stephen Jackson, Steve Smith, Jon Barry and Dion Glover. Glover's agent believes his client would be an ideal fit. "The Nuggets are a team that Dion is definitely interested in," said Brian [censored]. "They're definitely high on his list." [censored] mailed to NBA teams a 20-page statistical comparison between Glover and 16 other shooting guards and small forwards, with Glover being ranked favorably when statistics are projected over 48 minutes. No All-Stars were included as Glover, who averaged 9.7 points in 24.9 minutes for Atlanta, was compared to players such as Jackson, Corey Maggette, Ron Mercer, James Posey and Wesley Person. "A lot of teams were surprised to see how well he turned out," [censored] said. http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nuggets/article/0,1299,DRMN_20_2167465,00.html
