frankthetank966
Can someone please explain this to me. The Hawks are having issues staying under the cap (in fact went over) but Miami just signed 3 marquee free agents. How does this work?

Now they will have to fill out their roster with veteran's minimum players.
frankthetank966
What about chambers and Beasley? They are still at rookie contacts? And if so did they not just max three players? That's unbelievable

That's unbelievable Beasley was traded for a 2nd round pick to the wolves. Also, keep in mind that due to fewer years of experience by those three, their "max" was lower than JJ's max. I believe the max for those 3 was 30% of the cap.

All those players have played 7 years, Joe has played 9 years. Its 25% for 0-6 years, 30% for 7-9 years, and 35% for 10+ years.
