It has been a mixed bag for Pape Sy during his stint in the D-League with the Utah Flash but he could be showing signs of getting comfortable. Sy scored 15 points on 6-9 shooting while earning the start in Tuesday night's Flash loss to the Austin Toros. Sy was 1-3 from three point range, added five rebounds, and two assists. He did contribute four turnovers to Utah's total of 19 for the game.

It is important to remember just how little basketball Sy has played before joining the Flash. He was injured throughout training camp so maybe a slow start was to be expected. He does appear to be starting to get comfortable having reached double figures in his last two contests while shooting 10-14 from the field.

On the season, Sy has played in eight games while starting the last two. He is averaging 6.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. He is shooting an ugly 33% from the floor but has been improving the last two games in that regard. Sy hasn't shown much range connecting on just 2-14 shots from beyond the arc. He has shown a pretty good knack of getting to the free throw line where he is converting 78% of those opportunities. Bret at Hoopinion did an excellent breakdown of Sy's showing at the D-League Showcase. he Flash play again on Friday when they host the Idaho Vandals.
