Squawkers Hawksquawk Posted April 19, 2011 Squawkers Report Share Posted April 19, 2011 Atlanta Hawks coach Larry Drew talked with the 790 The Zone Mayhem In The AM, [Audio Here] crew yesterday morning and discussed a wide variety of topics from Atlanta's struggles at the end of the season to its Game 1 victory over the Orlando Magic on Saturday. While discussing the defensive game plan in Game 1, it was interesting that Drew referred to Magic point guard Jameer Nelson as the "head of the snake" in terms of the Magic's attack. So much focus is placed on MVP candidate Dwight Howard but it is Nelson that drives the ship. That was most of the thinking behind the trade that brought Kirk Hinrich to Atlanta in exchange for Mike Bibby. In Game 1 the strategy paid off as Nelson didn't get going until a stretch where Hinrich was on the bench. For Atlanta to pull an upset in the series, the Hinrich-Nelson match up is just as important as how the Hawks deal with Dwight Howard.
