Squawkers Hawksquawk Posted April 22, 2011 Squawkers Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 In an effort to provide a hostile playing environment for the Orlando Magic tonight, the Atlanta Hawks are asking all fans attending tonight's Game 3 to wear white. All fans attending tonight's game will receive a Hawks Playoff T-Shirt. Atlanta was dominant at home last season losing only seven times during the regular season. The Hawks slipped at home this season regressing to a 24-17 mark. Among those 17 losses were a series of embarrassing losses like the 41-point blow out by New Orleans and a 34-point drubbing by Philadelphia. Many times this season, games at Philips Arena haven't felt like home games at all. MVP chants have rained down on opposing players such as Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. Tonight the Hawks need a return of the Philips Arena environment that we saw in 2008. That year the Hawks were the No. 8 seed and playoffs were not something that fans were accustomed to seeing. After suffering two losses to the eventual champion Boston Celtics in Boston. The Hawks came home and were treated to one of the best playoff environments a basketball team could ask for. Ray Allen called it the toughest that he had played in as a Celtic. "In the last four years, the toughest environment we’ve played in, the most hostile, probably was Atlanta, The Hawks responded by pushing the Celtics to a Game 7 which they eventually lost in Boston. Game 3 is sold out with just standing-room-only tickets remaining. Lets just hope that those in attendance will be there to boo Dwight Howard and not to reaffirm his MVP candidacy.
