Squawkers Hawksquawk Posted December 2, 2011 Squawkers Report Share Posted December 2, 2011 Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reports (last item) that Hawks guard Kirk Hinrich recently had shoulder surgery and will be out until “late December or early January.” The 66-game NBA regular season scheduled is to begin Dec. 25 if there are no snags in the ratification of the new collective bargaining agreement. Hinrich was acquired in a Feb. 30 trade with Washington for rookie guard Jordan Crawford and a first-round pick. Missing training camp would rob him of a chance to further develop chemistry with his teammates. Hinrich, 30, is one of three experienced Hawks guards under contract for this season, along with Joe Johnson and Jeff Teague. With Hinrich out, Teague would enter camp on Dec. 9 as the only point guard on the roster and at the least would be the starter for the two preseason games against Charlotte and the beginning of the regular season.
