#1 Pick From Philadelphia

Does anyone know what level of protection is on the #1 pick we got from the 76ers in the trade for Glenn Robinson this summer? I haven't ever seen it reported in the media but figured you guys might know something. Thanks!

It would appear from NBADraft.net that the pick does not kick in until 2007, and is lottery protected. It looks like the Hawks rebuilding efforts will have to come from somewhere else. Besides the draft does not look strong, and unfortunately for the Hawks may not be for a while.

I don't look for immediate rebuilding with the pick but would like to know if it has the potential to be a "Darko Milicic" type of pick. I think the Sixers will fold like a house of cards when Iverson loses his game and that could easily happen by 2007 or 2008 when the Hawks could end up with the pick.

Does anyone know the specifics of the lottery protection?
