    It depends on where that hard cap is. I have read that the NHL has the best cap in all of sports but have no idea what the rules of the NHL's cap are.

    What is the disparity between the teams in the NFL with their payroll? (i.e. Are the payrolls on the super bowl team and the last place team vastly different?). One thing to note is that the NFL also has a salary minimum.

    As Hubie Brown mentioned, be careful bringing in players from bad teams who had no pressure to a team expecting to win and go to the playoffs. Not to say it couldn't work but be careful. A perfect example, although it's a non-basketball one, is Dan Kolb. That guy was AWFUL as soon as he got to the Braves and had to close games that mattered.
