  1. As one would imagine ESPN sports radio was trashing the Knicks for the offer sheet to THJ this afternoon and we all agree 71mill is a crazy number. But then he mentioned that Atlanta backcourt showed impressive growth stat wise but then proceeded to switch back to the Knicks crazy offer. In any case i looked at the numbers and they are positive for a backcourt that has only played 1 year together and they are young 23 & 25 years old. PG rankings: - Dennis - > 14th in Scoring (17.9 ppg); 14th in FG % (45%), 13th in Ast (6.3), 13th Scoring Per 48min (27.3ppg) SG rankings:- Tim Hardaway Jr - > 16th in Scoring (14.5 ppg); 10th in FG % (45%); 13th Scoring Per 48mins (25.5ppg) Now these are good numbers for a young backcourt, and if they continued to improve we are talking a top 10 PG and SG in the league; but are they good enough to take a financial risk on staying together. With that said, I think the Hawks will let Tim Hardaway Jr walk....

    GOODBYE THJ!

Well sure...they don't care about the money..its New York...They do have a potential superstar in the making at PF...so even when they lose on a deal like this they still beat us....smdh

    GOODBYE THJ!

Sad but true...I do like THJ as a future piece of the Hawks but F#cK the Knicks - 4yr/71mill is pretty crazy
  4. #TRustTheRebuild = from a team that has NEVER won anything, yet we are still holding on to this blind hope of getting lucky in the draft...I believe you posted this same thing during the BK years - yet here we are looking forward to a rebuild....smdh

    GOODBYE THJ!

This team is far from perfect that includes Defense but we are not starting from scratch in this proposed model...If we are going to tank completely it will be 4 to 5 years before we reach viable status again...I mean do you guys remember the BK years?

    GOODBYE THJ!

Not sure if you play chess or not, but moving back without a clear path forward loses the advantage. You don't move back and hope to find a starting young SG that avg 15pts when you already have one. Our GM has a big decision to make here, the logical choice would be to move Bazemore and Crawford while continuing to solidify our back court and see if our SF (Prince) and PF (collins) work out. To spell it out for you without using my consultant speak. PG- Dennis SG - THJ SF- Prince PF- Collins C- trade for Okafor Make no mistake this is not a perfect roster, but it satisfies two area - builds a young nucleus with potential, so if we were lucky enough to sell a Free Agent in the future (it will be appealing) - gives Bud a chance to grow these young core, and use our draft picks to fill any gaps we may have at the Center position or PF slot.

    GOODBYE THJ!

You don't think Tim Hardaway, a 25year old shooting guard avg 15pts per game is worth starting for the Hawks? I mean who are you waiting for? Ray Allen is not walking through that door, Klay Thompson is not walking through that door.....Some hawks fans dont get it - you want to go back to 2006 when we were hoping for a lottery win and couldn't get one free agent to come to ATL...With that said i agree the deal is slightly higher than i thought, but locking up Dennis and THJ, our backcourt for the next 4 years is a great idea. Then use the draft to find a future star PF, C or even more assets. This is CHESS not checkers

    GOODBYE THJ!

LOL...what did THJ do to you...is that any worse than Bazemore's deal? WAKE UP!
  9. Exactly, we should reward hard work and his ability to show improvement.....The market is set 4yr/50 - 55mil is the range. Let's see if we resign him.
  10. Potential? He averages 8pts a game and 5 rebounds in his 3rd year in the league...and you want to give him a Max contract....Wow...just Wow
  11. I would trade Plumlee and a 2020 future first rounder with lottery protection for him. If we are still wishing on our lottery prayers in 3 years then the Hawks have a greater problems.
  12. You're acting as if the Hawks are contending for the ECF or even the playoffs. It's not like Okafor is 30years old, he is 21years. If he stayed in college he would be going into his Senior year right now at Duke. We have a good coach, let him do his job and grow our talent...We are not a Franchise that is capable of attracting superstar talent...so the next logical point is to grow young talent and try to lock them up longterm once their potential begins to shine.
  13. Great! And what do we get for Dallas's cap space?
  14. Is this a joke right? Who would you replace a 25year old player with 14pts a game with? WAKE UP Hawks FANS!!!
  15. lol....you're right let's just keep Plumlee
  16. Although, the verdict is still out on our new GM, we do know that coach bud is pretty good at developing players that buy-in to his system. Milsap, Carroll, THJ all improved under coach bud. Why not grow a young core instead of solely relying on the lottery dream. Plus the new practice facility will help :) pg- Dennis / Dorsey sg- THJ / sf- Prince/bemby pf- collins C- okafor
  17. Will wait to see what the roster looks like at the end of the summer....He said we were not tanking yet all signs point to that...
  18. A buyout is likely - unless our good friends in New York or 76ers help us out...
  19. Finalizing what to do with Crawford... buyout or find a 4th team to route him and his salary.
  20. LOL...yea our rookie GM needs to be honest with the fans...We are tanking...
  21. Jamal wants to win, not be apart of any rebuilding effort. We get a 1st round pick and a Center for Bud to develop. Now this is not exciting news, more of a relief that we got something back in return.. Rookie GM grade so far = C-
  22. Well atleast we get a 1st rounder out of Milsap....Hawks appear to be going the 76ers route of stacking draft picks. "Can confirm reported proposed 3-way trade between ATL-DEN-LAC. Hawks: Jamal Crawford, Diamond Stone and 1st-round pick. Crawford won't play." https://twitter.com/CVivlamoreAJC
  23. A well regarded GM who helped architect a dynasty - > FALSE - at best he is an understudy with a good recommendation letter. Our new GM, was the assistant to Bob Myers and worked under a guy by the name of Jerry West...So he is a rookie who hopefully learned something before coming to ATL...with that said it's way to early to judge him at this point. Not offering Millsap anything was disrespectful and his first failure- let's see how he handles the rest of the summer. Collins draft pick was good though!
  24. Many Hawks fans don't understand what ' the market' means in business.....The market sets the value, now some teams for example the Kings will pay above the market value for a player (such as Porter's Max contract 4yr/106mil).. The market for Baze was in the 14- 17mill dollar range last year...So the question the front office needs to determine is what Will BE the market for an improving 25year year SG avg 14.5pts per game.... For an indication of the current market for guards Patty Mills signed a 4yr/50mill If I were the GM i would lock in Hardaway for about 4yr / 60mill contract; so we can solidify our backcourt for the next 4 years; thereafter we can see what we get out of Dorsey, etc., and cross that bridge when we get there...
  25. Agreed...And fans want to know why free agents don't want to come to ATL. Atleast make him a small offer 3yr/70 mill, sure he would of turned it down but show an attempt.....The misery continues in Atlanta
