  1. I never listen to anything that Fox News or sports says, but in this case I really hope he can bring his average up to 18pts per game......Come on Marvin....
  2. I'm glad we have the only UTAH fan in the world on a Hawks board. I went to the game and Yes Michigan's offense looked awful, but that is expected, b/c we dont have the QB or even offensive line to run Rich Rodriquez's offense. We turn the ball over like 3 times, with no offense what so ever and you guys still only won by 2points. I'm telling everyone around the Big Ten to get their licks in now, b/c we are not expected to win more than 7games this year....And actually this wasnt even an upset b/c UTAH had more points in the AP than Michigan.... :hush:
  3. The Hawks back up plan has to target Deng or Gordon in the event that Childress decides to bolt. Gordon would be the most likely fit it provides another scorer that could take some pressure off of Joe Johnson and in return create some tough Mismatches. Woodson of course would seal his fate if the Hawks dont make the 5th seed. Can you imagine. PG- BIbby SG- Gordon SF- Joe Johnson PF- Josh Smith C- Hofford The Hawks could have multiple lineups and depth to make a real run deep into the playoffs. If Sund can't get Childress to stay then Ben Gordon would be my pick. Luol Deng would also be a decent pick but that would leave Marvin Williams on the outside next year. THen you add Kwame Brown and Randolph Morris and all the Hawk gaps appear to be filled. Well all except the coaching gap...Go Hawks
  4. Deng would be the back up plan if CHillz bolts. We still need a shooter that can come off the bench...Then again the Hawks could go the cheap route and sign Luke Jackson, Kwame Brown, Randolph Morris. THen sign Josh Smith and somehow bring Ben Gordon to provide that SG stroke. But Ben would have to be comfortable not starting out the gate. If our GM can pull that off then the Hawks will be fine. We need to get a viable shooting options to reduce some of the pressure and minutes off of Joe. The Log Jam at the PG spot would allow us to move one them guys by the trade deadline. PG- Bibby / Law / CLaxton SG- Joe / Gordon SF- Marvin / Luke Jackson PF- Josh Smith / Kwame Brown C - Hofford / Randolph Morris
  5. Thank you Philly for taking Elton Brand, now we have to fight with the Clippers whom the Hawks better beat to keep the Joshes. There are a few Targets the Hawks will pursue as Free Agents Centers 1) Kwame Brown (1st priority) 2) Randolph Morris 3) Patrick OBryant Defenders 1) Mario West (will resign) Shooters 1) Michael Finley (Will be tough to pry him away from Spurs) 2) Gordan Giricek 3) Carlos Delfino PG 1) Shaun Livingston (insurance once Bibby leaves, plus he will come cheap and provide some match up problems)
  6. Quote: Quote: I must admit the hawks are not handling the ball good...simply too man turnovers. The Hawks must swarm. Pg- Acie Law SG- Mike Bibby SF- Joe Johnson PF-Josh Smith C- AL Hoford .. Stupid line up! JJ would foul out trying to check Pierce. Ray Allen would score 30 on Bibby in the 1st half! GENIUS....you can match up defense however we want too..for example Bibby although playing the 2g on offense would check the PG on Defense, Acie Law will check Allen, and Joe would check Paul...Sure we will give up alittle size, but we would have more quickness.....WE need to get some kind of advantage and the only way we can hang with these guys is if we use our speed and athleticism to run the court...I think they will get our best shot on Saturday....
  7. Quote: Love the guys with good original thoughts.....LOL. I would like to mix it up and try that lineup as well for the reasons in the thread below. http://www.hawksquawk.net/forums/showflat....=&fpart=#306176 Sorry if this a repost...I wasnt on the board the last few days or so...I saw the lineup for the first time last night and despite Law jitters it looked good...aside the fact that bibby didnt do squat
  8. I must admit the hawks are not handling the ball good...simply too man turnovers. The Hawks must swarm. Pg- Acie Law SG- Mike Bibby SF- Joe Johnson PF-Josh Smith C- AL Hoford Second Wave PG- Salim SG- Childress SF- Mario West (FOR DEFENSE) PF- Marvin Williams C - Zaza The Hawks need to limit turnovers and should respond with more quickness and ball handlers...Woodson actually suprise me when he had Acie and Bibby in at the same time...Acie had some bad turnovers but showed he can get to the basket. PLEASE WOODSON MAKE ADJUSTMENTS....We should also 3 quarter press at the beginning of the 1st and 3rd quarter to slow them down.
  9. I would probably sit him out against Chicago and let me play against the Knicks...Its time for Acie Law & Salim Staudemire to step up an pick up some of the slack. I know this is woody's last season coaching the Hawks but going forward we have better substitutions patterns and flat out better coaching. GO HAWKS we can pull through this one....
  10. I know we need to make the playoffs...But the 2nd most important thing is to move up out of the 8th "Sweep" seed. If the Hawks could somehow win 11 out of the next 13games it maybe able to move up dare i say the 6th spot....Hey i know i know I'm reaching...maybe i should just be happy with the 8th spot, but this Hawks team is atleast talent wise 6th seed....but we can thank Woodson for that..GO HAWKS
  11. I have been pretty neutral of BK, even though he made bone head decisions, but despite not picking paul, Deron of Brandon ROY, he has brought JJ, drafted CHildz, Josh Smith, Hoford and now Marvin is playing well. All in All he has done a good job as GM now that we have BIBBY. I would give him a solid "B". However if there is one person that is really feeling the pressure it is MIke Woodson. If Woodson cant coach this team to the 4th playoff spot in the East then he will be replaced. Atlanta has a lot of talent and this team should be very dangerous in the playoffs... WOODSON everyone in watching you now...You cant hide now that you have basically an ALLstar backcourt, a Rookie of the Year Candidate at C, a future ALL Star in JSmoove and MARVIN playing solid at the 3spot. NO MORE EXCUSES..... GO HAWKS
  12. Lets wait for the official deal disclosed before we start giving out praises....you never know with our organization
  13. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed, ya never know with our ownership group.
  14. THanks NJHAWK, I sure hope bibby comes to ATL. We need a spark that will energize this team going down the stretch. I expect us to also get an additional shooter aswell. One thing is for sure something is definitely brewing at ATL Hawks Headquarters - and you know what I'm excited right about now....imagine the excitement the team is feeling.

I figured i would take a break from praying for a trade that brings Bibby or Miller to the Hawks... Man we need to do something fast.... Anyways, I have a news site beatpaper.com It allows you to either post news stories, comment on existing ones, or even right your own news column. Your News at your own beat....Anyways thats enough plugging on my end. Let me Know what you guys think. Side note = If anyone needs any assistance with website stuff then let me know. Thanks
  16. The Hawks need to make a move to energize this team an get some fans excited again. We are close, but its obvious that with the right tweak we can not only make the playoffs but better position ourselves. PLEASE GET HELP PLEASE GET MIKE BIBBY..Maybe this will work Hawks get Mike Bibby SAC GET Anthony Johnson (Expiring Contract) Salim (Expiring Contract) Lorenzen Wright (Expiring Contract) SHeldin Williams
  17. Quote: Are you nuts????? Childress for Ridnour???? We could get Ridnour for a song. I wouldn't take three Ridnour for Childress!!! Check the Salaries...
  18. Here are the 5pgs 1)Jason Kidd To Get Him if not a 3 way trade then...SHelden, Childress, AJ, Wright, Salim are possible Trade bait Outlook Dallas is in the driver seat for this one, and it may require giving up too much talent for a guy that will leave next year anyway. Trade NOT LIKELY 2)Mike Bibby- To Get HimIt will take Childress, AJ, and Zaza or SHelden Outlook Its no secret that the Kings want to let Bibby go - it matters if the Hawks Managment not just BK would pull the trigger. However, BK will be admitting that his drafting Shelden last year was a big mistake-even though we all know that. Trade Probably 3)Luke Ridnour - To Get HimIt will take Childress and AJ & Salim Outlook Apparently this trade was close to happening last year until it hit a snag. I believe seattle wanted Marvin and that wasnt happening. Nowadays they dont need him but Childress maybe a good fit for them. Trade High Probability. 4)Devin Harris - To Get HimIt will take Childress, Lue, and Salim Outlook This trade had a higher success rate before the injury. Hawks have been burned with Speedy injury. Although it has been circulated on the internet - and I actually heard it from a friend in Hawks Marketing dept as a "good rumor". Trade Probable 5)Stephon Marbury To Get HimIt will take more than what the Hawks will probably offer to eat his big contract. AJ,Lorenzen,Childress,Zaza, + a 3rd Team to make this happen. Outlook THis is the dumbest of all trade scenarios as the Hawks would be taking on a possible cancer, and his huge contract would present some problems Trade Highly Unlikely
  19. Devin Harris the Dallas back up point guard would fit in perfectly with the Hawks. There is some speculation that the Hawks will atleast try to talk to NJ about getting in the 3way trade to beat out Portland. Now I can confirm this as its simply a rumor floating around the Hawks marketing team. So it could just be there idea and not BK...so who knows. Dallas Kidd Salim Malik Allen NJ Jerry Stackhouse Childress Lorenzen Wright AJ + Cash from Dallas Atlanta Hawks Devin Harris Brandon Bass
  20. "The answer would be a team with wing players who like to run. A team with a glaring hole at the point and, perhaps, one in need of veteran leadership in the locker room. A team with enough scorers that Kidd wouldn't be asked to provide points, and a team close enough to doing something significant that Kidd could make a real difference. So tell me, based on those criteria … how do the Atlanta Hawks not qualify? They have the pieces to make an offer, too, if general manager Billy Knight -- who has a reputation as a reluctant deal-maker -- is so inclined. It would cost them Josh Childress, the expiring contracts of Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright and Anthony Johnson, plus either Zaza Pachulia or Shelden Williams. Atlanta could get Malik Allen back in the deal too (really, Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams easy buckets in transition that have been frustratingly rare so far this year. And the Hawks only need to rent him for a year and a half (or two and a half if a one-year extension is part of Kidd's ransom), so the risk isn't as big as it seems."
  21. I watched the game late last night aswell and I came away with similiar sentiments for Like Ridnour. He knows how to run an offense in a fast pace game. Right now they have 3pgs we should definitely go after Luke Ridnour. In regards to your second point. We DO NOT NEED PAUL GASOL.....and I repeat WE DO NOT NEED PAUL GASOL. We have enough low post players who just need a great pg to deliver the ball to them in the right situation. The problem is AJ has been servicable and we dont want to let Law go. SO who would we trade? The Options at PG are either Andre Miller or Luke Ridnour. We need atleast one to make the playoff push
  22. Hawks have all the talent in the world from position 2 through 5. However the major piece is the floor general. Not having a pg is similar to not having a good QB. The ravens won with a serviceable QB in Dilfer but there defense was amazing. The Hawks are not getting enough points from the PG position. Acie Law will be the answer in two years but until then we need a PG that will lead us through the playoffs. Trade: Sheldin, CHildress, and AJ for Bibby and a future 1st. As much as I hate to see childress go b/c he helps our bench out so much we need to start making moves that will put us in position to strongly compete for titles. Not saying that Bibby would bring a title to ATL, but the Hawks will be pretty darn good in East. And in the playoffs anything can happen - we have to get to the Playoffs first.
  23. NOt working for me...Does anyone have another link?
  24. THe Hawks Need more productivity from the PG position. Acie Law needs a year to adjust and improve his outside shooting. Meanwhile the Hawks are dismal in 3pt percentage. WE have to stretch the floor. More Importantly we have the pieces to trade. Untouchables: Joe, SMith, Marvin, Law, and Hofford. I would package AJ Johnson, Salim Stoudemire, Josh CHildress for MIke Bibby. THe Hawks can sign both Marvin and Josh so why not trade Childress for MIke Bibby and solidify our playoff spot...RIght now we cant stretch the defense and its killing us.
