  1. By this time we all know its no secret that Hawks are trying desperately to get Dwight Howard to Atlanta to create the Super Friends...JSmoove, Dwight, Morrow together...Ok so Morrow is not super but they are all great friends..Ferry in the process got Devin Harris for Marvin which is a steal. Harris will excel with the Hawks or could be used as trade filler for Dwight...The Dwight Sweepstakes is a huge risk, b/c we would basically be renting him for a year and hoping that both Dwight and Smith Resign...If not the Hawks are basically an empty roster...b/c to get Dwight we have to let AL go...Trade: Al Horford, Zaza, 13th pick (houston), 1st round Draft Pick (Hawks) for Dwight Howard.Thereafter - the Hawks would also look at Batum or AK 47 as a restricted Free Agent..Now introducing your Eastern Conference Finals TeamPg-Teague / HarrisSG- (Ray Allen?) / Morrow / JenkinsSF- Batum ? / Pape SyPF- Smith / Ivan the TerribleC- Howard / Petro
  2. SF is not to dire of a threat for the Hawks...If Papa Sy can come on and become a good defender at the Small Forward position for example that would be great for the Hawks.....The Real issue will be the back court...Teague and Devin Harris would be a small back court but may have to really step their games up. Teague is has great speed and Harris was an Allstar at one point...So the Hawks have alot of options to hold them over till next years free agency period. I think the Hawks will be about a 6th or 7th seed in the playoffs as currently constructed. Let's see what other moves Ferry has up his sleeve...GO HAWKS
  3. Alot of chatter regarding the Atlanta Hawks interest in Bradley Beal...I personally dont much about the SG, but the move would potential mean..Could the Hawks trade Joe Johnson?Beal is an established SG and this would in effect mean two things...Hawks will move JJ to SF spot..or the Hawks would flat out move to rebuild...
  4. Not a good move for Atlanta...It still doesnt solve the issue of allowing Horford to play is natural position at PF. Having skilled, yet soft Gasol on our Team does not really help us on the defensive side of the ball, nor does it fill the void at the SF position if Josh leaves..
  5. Originally I said Drummond...but I would have to go with Gilchrist b/c the Hawks would need a SF with a high energy motor...
  6. ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein Trade story add: Dwight obviously Rockets' dream target but sources say they'll pursue Atlanta's Josh Smith (and others) if ORL won't budge 5 minutes ago Houston has a lot of picks...........Things could get real interesting for Atlanta Very soon..
  7. We desperately need to create some Cap space...but if we can get two years out of Steve Nash then that would give us a leader we so desperately need, and also provide some additional training for Teague. Please Ferry get rid of Marvin Williams...
  8. It is paramount the Hawk move Marvin Williams, and Smooth might be the key...We could make a run at signing Steve Nash, but that would mean the Hawks will probably go over the cap. We can not stand pat with the #23 pick...Its paramount that we need to move up.and Smith value is at an all time high...If luck falls our way and we get those two picks it would be the Best Off season in Atlanta Hawk History...
  9. Here is something interesting Atlanta sends Josh Smith and #23 pick to Portland for #6 & #11 pick plus filler....Not sure if Danny Ferry wants to be the one to be responsible for moving Josh Smith but this move helps the Hawks in two ways..We should be able to draft a Center provided that Drummond Falls to 6 pick, and we would have a variety of options at the #11 spot including get Rivers Kid who is a playmaker combo guard or a back pg in Marshall. Either move who give the Hawks hope at two key positions in the NBA.We would have a glaring hole at the SF spot though..
  10. The First GREAT Move by the Hawks in years
  11. If Danny Ferry accepts this position this is huge for the Hawks...He will definitely put his stamp on the team right way...Basketball Gods please let him accept then please let us finally draft a quality Center...He did put the team together that sent Cleveland to the finals twice..you cant complain about that...sh#t as a Hawks fans just get me to the conference finals and that is huge....with that being said 2nd place in the East is up for grabs with Rose being out for majority of the year...Now is the time to make some smart moves...and a Smart GM is orchestrate that...
  12. All Signs are pointing to Salem Dalembert being waived by Houston Rockets....Hawks should look into getting this big man. And using the draft to get SF, and SG prospects...
  13. The only way we get Drummond is if Smith is Traded to the bobcats for the #2 pick....I like Drummonds potential but a #2pick alone is not = to Josh Smith...
  14. The Hawks seem to face a dilemma every single year...how to improve the roster and stay within their spending limit. Now here we are once again face with another issue of drafting need areas, and trading pieces that has not panned out. The Hawks are rumored to interested in many prospects but like the following players in the Draft are of high interest:1) Andre Drummond ( High Risk / High Reward)2) Austin Rivers ( Great Handles and speed)3) Harrison Barnes4) Doron Lamb 5) Fab Melo6) Draymond Green7) Quincy MillerUnfortunately- the chances of drafting the top 3 on this list are slim unless the Josh Smith Trade happens. Hence the dilemma facing the Hawks. If we stand pat we will most likely draft Fab Melo or some other big, b/c we have to move Horford to his rightful PF position. The Hawks Really need 3 things out of this Draft1) Center2) SF- Just in case Smith opt to leave next year3) SG- to back up JJ and just to keep him fresh during a full season. So what will we do...
  15. Let me get this straight...YOU Recommend we Trade for Chris Paul and his great potential Knee problems...when we have a fast, cheap PG who hasnt reach his potential Yet. I am So GLAD You are not the GM.... THE HAWKS NEED A BIG MAN...MARC GASOL would be great....and Memphis Cant afford to keep him.......GIVE UP ON THIS CP3 crap
  16. 1) CAP SPACE 2) It gives Paul another scoring option with David West thus proving they are committed to winning. Similar to how Orlando made moves midseason....either you make a move or lose your star player...New Orleans will not stand pat.
  17. NO MOVES CAN BE MADE UNTIL THE NEW COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT IS IN PLACE...
  18. All this talk about moving Al Horford is flat out stupid...I agree I hated how he played against Chicago, but come on people stop with all the crazy talk. Joe Johnson and Al Horford = the Core of Atlanta. However some serious changes need to be made so Trading Marvin Williams, Jamal Crawford for Emeka Okafor & Trevor Ariza would fill the needs we have. It gives us better defense, toughness and it allows Horford to move to his true position of Power Forward. If Teague can continue to grow at the PG position and hopefully improve his jumpshot then the Hawks could make some noise next year. Its no secret the Hornets are trying to get under the cap so this gives them more flexibility - Its worth a try Sund.
  19. Horford and JOE are looking like a damn Rookies...all this dumb a$$ turnovers and poor shot selection.....Just play good basketball...MY GOSH
  20. I mentioned at the beginning of the season that the Teague holds the key to the Hawks actually making noise in the playoffs....This is probably alot of pressure on the Young Guard but he holds the key to Hawks not only winning this Series but actually contending in an NBA field without the Lakers, Spurs, soon to be out Celtics....But forget looking down the road - I believe Whoever wins this game will win the Series, therefore the Hawks have to play desperate, and Teague has to lead this team to victory. To win in Chicago, we need Joe, Jamal and Horford to have good games, and we have to pray to God that Josh Smith doesnt shoot us out of this game - But the most important x-factor will be Teague and he has to cause Havoc on the offensive and Defensive end to tire out Rose...Rose will still score 30 + tonight, but we have to make him take 20 + points to do. Teague has to do something No Point Guard has done for the Hawks in a while, Speed up the tempo, create havoc on offense and defense and make good choices getting players involve... GO HAWKS...THIS IS A HUGE GAME
  21. Ok the Bulls are the #1 Seed. They have the MVP in Rose They are scrappy and play very good Defense. So How do we beat them. Strangely enough its not as hard as we would think if the Hawks do Something they generally only do for a 2.5 quarters a game....EXECUTE The Hawks need to crash the boards are start from inside out....That means basically follow the 1st Quarter game plan of last nights game 6 win. Josh attack the paint, Horford post moves and mid range game. If we do that consistently enough we would be in the game. However the Key factor is Obviously Rose, we cant have a PG dominate, so I depending how Hinrich feels, we need to attack rose with quickness and actually make him work on both sides of the ball. If Hinrich cant play Teague has to be effective....I think the PG position is a difference maker in playoffs...Just remember how Rondo exploded on to the scene three years ago against our very own Atlanta Hawks. Definitely not saying Teague is Rondo, but he has to be effective in this series. I honestly just don't think Crawford plays an ounce of Defense to even slow down Rose at the PG spot. Joe you have to avg 20pt 5rebs, 6 ast in this series. JOSH NO LONG JUMPSHOTS..give us 16pts, 8rebs, 2blks and no Long Jumpshots Horford attempt atleast 15 shots a game... Jamal just dont shoot us out of the game... Zaza = be yourself
  22. LD needs to explore playing Teague in the 2nd Quarter instead of having Jamal at the PG. Not only would Teague put pressure on the opposing PG with his speed, but it allows Jamal Crawford to play the SG position and play off the ball. Everytime Hinrich goes out the game, Nelson goes on a run. IT will be interesting to see what type of adjustments LD has mind. Now we all we need to do is remind Josh to attack the Paint, and Joe to swing the ball quickly when a double team comes then the Hawks should be ok. GO HAWKS
  23. Please silence this useless speculation New Jersey simply drove the price up for Carmelo that the Knicks would give up their future for him....its all over twitter, and in NJ publications. What a shrewd move...That is the reason Devin Harris was inquired about but NJ said that is not possible....STOP DREAMING !!!! Hawks will make a move our best case scenario now is to trade for Nash
  24. Everyone is making moves...If the Hawks dont do something to improve our PG situations then we dont deserve to make it out of the first round...Infact we wont make it out of the first round.
