  1. Clean House and Wait for what? Who is coming out in next year's draft that will make a huge impact on any NBA team...Some people throw around rebuilding like its the NFL or something...Players ability to leave after their first year of college will take time to develop at the NBA level. The Hawks have two Allstars...so Ferry's first job is to fill out the roster, sign Josh Smith, and look to sign Harden, Ibaka or Even Bynum next year.Btw - and since when is a second year player (teague) averaging 12.6pts 4.9ast in the regular season and raising his point total to 14ppg in the post season suck?
  2. Atlanta is the #9 biggest Media Market, so its not like we are garbage, the NBA challenge and dilemma comes from the College Ranks. players don't develop like they use to, so now we have a boat load of Young Kids in the league that are not fully developed skill wise, as a result the few stars that pan out...Lebron, Kobe, Dwight, Carmelo, Durant etc., creates a market where only the teams who dont fear paying the luxury tax win out....So what that means for Atlanta is simple, try to sign Smith to an extension, Horford is here and try to get a decent big man that runs the floor (Robin Lopez)...and Max one of the star players that are available Next Summer.....Unfortunately for teams like OKC if they dont win next year its pretty much over for them as they cant afford to keep Harden, Ibaka and company together....Their lost is our gain...tough state of affairs in the NBA
  3. To rebuild means the Hawks virtually have no talent kinda of like other rebuilding teams ie, Cavs, Kings, Bobcats, etc., The Hawks will have two All Stars on the Team in Smoove (got robbed this year) and Horford. By all accounts having two Allstars in not rebuilding. Unfortunately in Today's NBA teams need "Big 3s" to compete....Now the Hawks have to try to Max Paul to give us a chance next summer or we will be floating around the 4th & 5th Seed for awhile
  4. The Hawks are not rebuilding.....we have a solid guard(s) in Teague & Harris, we have an All Star PF/C in Horford, and we have an emotional SF/PF in Josh Smith...and promising rookie in Jenkins.Everyone wants to gravitate to wish upon a star for Dwight / and Paul b/c we want to win now..The Hawks are actually not that far away as many of you think..Sure it will take more star power to get past the Heat and the Nets....but if Danny can get a solid center that can run the floor ie (Robin Lopez), and then go after say Chris Paul in the Summer Time..then guess what. We have a team that can make it to the Eastern Conference Finals...
  5. Jenkins was a great addition....now we need to solidify our Low Post Options so he can get some good shots on the perimeter.
  6. Hawks have officially bowed out of the Dwight Howard Sweeptakes...b/c Dwight doesnt want to sign here... according to MC.. The Hawks no longer appear to be in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes. The hang-up remains the same: Howard has given no indication he’s willing to commit to the Hawks (or any team other than Brooklyn) beyond next season and, without that assurance, Atlanta is unwilling to trade major pieces and draft picks and also take back one more of Orlando’s bad contracts.
  7. This just in WojYahooNBAAdreian Wojnarowski RT @SpearsNBAYahoo: Possible complication in Dwight 3way deal is Nets FA Kris Humphries would seek 4yr deal with CLE and wouldn't sign 1 year deal...
  8. Apparently, The Nets deal is all but done, but the Hawks have one more shot to get it down, apparently the last discussion is taking place now.... Magic will complete one last sweep before completing the trade, sources say. They want to make sure they’re accepting best offer. Twitter
  9. Howard won't sign an extension with any team other than the nets. Hawks simply can't take the risk of Dwight not signing long term...
  10. Ok so the twitter universe is buzzing about the eminent trade of Howard to the Nets....now hawks fans can move on...look to sign Chris Kaman, or make a trade for Robin Lopez (phx) using our draft pick from the Nets. At least now we would have Another big body at the center position that is somewhat athletic. Let's Go Hawks...definitely excited about our future...http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/222157/Nets_Magic_Making_Progress_On_Howard_Trade_By_Involving_Cavaliers
  11. No....we don't need to make trades just to make trades...maybe look into acquiring Chris kaman, and Gerald green and then just wait til the free agency period next summer... Ferry wants to build the team the right way not just trade for more POw forwards
  12. Here are the excerpts from the screening...'The Dark Knight Rises' Gets Standing Ovation During Press ScreeningBefore it opens wide in the U.S., Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" has already become critics' darling. It has been reported that on Friday, July 6, the highly anticipated Batman film held a press screening which resulted in a standing ovation. Multiple critics had nothing but good words for the pic as they posted their positive reviews on Twitter and Facebook. "The Dark Knight Rises has just finished screening for the press and critics, receiving a STANDING OVATION!!!," film reviewer Lauren Hiestand wrote, as highlighted by Comic Book Movie. Another critic, Marco Gennuso, gushed, "If this does not break the mold and win Best Picture, no comic book movie ever will #TDKR." Tom McAuliffe, meanwhile, tweeted, "Just finished the screening of Dark Knight Rises...so much awesome...can't wait to see it again. And again. 9 out of 10 for me. I'd put Amazing Spider-Man at a 7.5 and Avengers at an 8.5." McAuliffe elaborated further, "The trilogy is greater than the sum of its parts, and for me the 3rd was the very best part of the whole story. Dark knight is a classic in its own right - it stands alone, but in this trilogy, and as a closer, this film exceeds. It's an ending that presents opportunity for thought for sure. Risky/tough story well told, brilliantly acted, great cinematography, awesome score." "To your original question - there are things I criticize in every film, but this one measures high on many measures. There will be some surprises but not big ones, the beauty of the film is how well it tells the story." "Tom Hardy was incredible as Bane, the storyline was fantastic. I think the Joker is far more iconic than Bane, with more memorable quotes, but this story was great, including Bane's origin. Godfather 3 never happened. Xmen 3 & Spider-Man 3 were awful, this film was the perfect final chapter in the trilogy." Additionally, The Dark Knight Rises Hype group on Facebook wrote, "As far as audience reaction, there were only 40-50 ppl in attendance (mostly critics), but there was applause and I leaned over and shook Michael Uslan's hand and congratulated him when his name appeared in the credits. I, myself, cried twice...once out of sadness and once out of pure geeky uncontrollable happiness." As the Caped Crusader movie kept receiving pouring compliments from the critics, Warner Bros. Pictures unveiled a brand new IMAX spot which focuses on Bane's attack to Gotham. Starring Christian Bale as Batman and Tom Hardy as Bane, the much awaited comic book movie will hit theaters nationwide on July 20.__________________
  13. You definitely keep Josh Smith...Although I do like Horford alot. If the Hawks can't get Dwight then we basically look for next summer to grab Tyreke Evans and Serge Ibaka...We could allow Evans to play the SG & SF spot thus giving the Hawks alot of range on the wings. Depending on well Teague does this season will determine if we go after Chris Paul...This lineup would definitely be capable of making the Eastern Conference Finals..PG-Teague / HarrisSG- Tyreke / Jenkins / MorrowSF- Josh Smith /TyrekePF- Al Horford / Ivan the TerribleC- Serge Ibaka / Zaza
  14. Ok, so let's stop dreaming of Dwight Howard for a second - unless Ferry can pull off a miracle...The Hawks have glaring needs at the SF spot and back up Center position. I would imagine that Ferry is still trying to work a trade using Devin Harris, Picks for some additional support... These guys are free agents: SF options Andrei Kirilenko Gerald Green C- Robin Lopez (PHX) Chris Kama Any of these guys would be solid.additions for the Hawks...The more I see what is available next year the more I realize that Howard acquisition critical to Hawks Championships desires in the next few years...
  15. Elton Brand average less than Spencer Hawes..only way you sign brand is if Horford is traded...
  16. He would definitely be up there with Vick, Chipper Jones...If he won a title here the City would his..hell the entire country would be his...
  17. He has to play for the Hawks first before we can really rank him...but he would have potential to be top 3..
  18. Now all of this is contingent on Atlanta trading Horford and Devin Harris for Dwight Howard. The team we would have in place with the addition of Kirilenko, would give us a pretty defensive front court. Of course our backcourt situation would be untested, but I like Jeff teague's speed and Jenkins, Morrow, would have to hit open shots...now this team would be a tough out, but would make it to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Heat....The following year we could bring CP3 here and that would put us in the finals...or at least give us a real shot of being there.....
  19. Your absolutely wrong....this is still a business man and there is no Lebron or Wade coming out of next years draft. More than likely winning the lottery will get you potential...we don't need to start from scratch. The Hawks as constructed will battle for the 7th seed then you look to sign Chris Paul in 2013. Great franchises reload, so if the hawks want to be great they build a great team capable of winning the right way. Then we tweak things to get championship caliber.
  20. The only way we let Horford go is for Dwight...especially in league that doesnt have many good big men.. Plan B would be to sign Smith and Go after Chris Paul.
  21. Not saying we sign both...more like either or...I see the Batum acquisition as more likely
  22. No way the Hawks sign Dwight without him agreeing to a long term deal...Imagine him and Smith leaving next summer...the Hawks would be worst than the Bobcats after giving up Teague and Horford...Ferry is smarter than that my friend
