I mean, I get it. It’s not the preferred pace of play, but at the same time, we need options. We can’t count on OO to do it all. 
1) We can’t keep giving it up to other teams’ oafs. 
2) Pace slows down in the playoffs and reliable scoring options are required. Edey can provide that. 

He can be a good option even if he’s not the best option.

I agree.
The biggest problem with Hunter and his value here is there is no one capable of backing him up or replacing him if he’s hurt or traded. Unless they move JJ to more SF, but then we have the same issue at PF. 

I wouldn’t mind if we moved him, but we need to go after more than one player to replace him. BI is a good start, but we would need a capable back up. 

Honestly, BI starting and Hunter backing him up off the bench may actually be the best scenario. Both are injury prone and both are capable of starting when the other misses time.

It’s situational. We need size bc we don’t have it now. No one drafted this year is going to be starting for us. 
 

I'm not saying Edey is the best option, but to dismiss him so hard is a little over the top IMO. I would take an OO/Edey/Bruno rotation over a OO/CC/Bruno rotation any day. 
 

I’ll be happy if we walk away with Clingan (top choice), Sarr, Filip, Edey, or Ware. All of these guys could contribute year one on a limited basis. Maybe even Missi, but moreso if we trade down for him bc he will take a year or two before he can contribute.

I can't say I disagree. Murray is better and he's a smooth fit at PG for teams like NO, PHX, ORL, etc. You gotta build around Trae and that's not easy to do. We know. That said, Trae is the one that can carry a franchise. Not Murray which shouldn't be his role anyway. 

Hopefully he goes to NO, a WC team with better assets than PHX. ORL would never give up the ransom that would make it worth trading him there for us to play against all the time.

Edey and OO are both situational players. Edey to go against the big oafs who camp in the paint, and OO for the stretch bigs. 

It’s not an either/or thing where we only want 7’ centers, it’s about having options. And right now between OO, CC, and Bruno, we have no options against big boys. 

OO = primary and stretch 5

Edey = Big big 5

Bruno = 3rd string 5

CC = dead weight

They’d have to land pretty squarely in the lottery and outside the play ins to feel comfortable with rolling the dice to tank. 

Is 2025 the last year for it to be a 1rp before it converts to 2rps? If so, then yeah, they’d probably be more open to gamble.

I believe Ressler will go over the luxury tax line, but only in the last 12-18 months before he plans to sells the team. He’ll want to pump up the value of the team, but sell before he’s on the hook to pay repeater tax charges.

When we already have Trae and JJ as high upside players on the roster to go with some nice pieces (I'd include OO, Hunter and Kobe among the young pieces), I think working further to try to succeed with those players makes more sense especially given that our starting point is not having control of our 2024, 2025, and 2026 picks.  We are already behind the 8-ball in a rebuild situation so that tilts towards trying to retool and then falling back on rebuilding when we own our picks in a few years if we fall on our face.  

Hell, even if you are lucky enough to draft a player like that it doesn’t guaranteed you anything. Shaq never won anything in Orlando.

Reed is about as blue as you can be considering both his parents played bball at UK. Now his father’s former roommate and captain of the a championship team could potentially coach him. If he returns he either feels he needs more development or it’s a legacy decision.

I don’t believe this to be true at all. 
I think many of us are just tired of ONLY having 6-10 and smaller centers that get abused by bigger players. 
OO is great, but it so be nice to have a 7’er on the roster to mix things up. 

Not an unexpected outcome when playing third stingers pretty much the whole game.
