Just heard on Dan Patrick's show that Peter vessel (sp) said the hawks are dumping salary because they are planning on relocating. Anyone else heard this? I can't find anything on it.

I dont know if the magic would want more than this but if howard wants out this definitely could work. We could also draft Ben Hansbrough for our back up point guard or get isiah thomas from washington. The lineup would probably look something like this. Now these guys could probably come cheap and obviously wont start many games for you, but they could give some energy and size off the bench. Jeff Foster Josh McRoberts Mark Blount Nick Collison Kyrylo Fesenko Aaron Gray Pops Mensah-Bonsu Darko Milicic My first choice would be David Anderson if we could but I think a few of these guys are proven solid back up big man and a few others may just need a change of scenery or a chance to play more minutes. McRoberts really intigued me late in the season with his energy for Indiana. I have no idea if these guys are free agents or not though

anyone here interested in Josh Mcroberts? According to the press in Indy he has gained 20 pounds of muscle so far this offseason and towards the end of the season he showed a lot of promise with his energy and athleticism. Pacers fans are hoping he will be there "birdman." McRoberts would come at a cheaper cost than Anderson though.

i think it all depends on who the other big man beside him is. if amare is beside horford i dont think there would be a problem because you essentially have 2 PFs playing the post who will bang down low. now lets say we have horford and a finesse power forward(smith can be called this at times too) such as dirk, bosh, troy murphy, rashard lewis etc. then I think we would have a problem. this is just my opinion and if I was a GM Id have no problem playing 2 PFs as long as they play defense and can rebound. having 2 6'9 guys can pose a problem at times but I think we would be fine.

It looks right now based on records that the wizards would have the 2nd pick and the number 1 pick would be griffin most likely. I would be looking to trade up if I were Atlanta as Rubio could either play behind or next to bibby for a year. We could always trade Washington Gets: #19 pick Marvin Joe Future 1st Atlanta Gets: #2 Pick Caron Butler Antawn Jamison Not sure if the salaries match up but they could be switched around. Also with the way JJ Redick has been playing in the playoffs he is showing that he can provide some scoring off the bench as a shooter. He plays within the team and gives it his all every play. Id give up a second round and mo evans for JJ. I only put the 2nd round pick because Orlando has been pretty stingy with trading Redick. Orlando Gets: Mo Evans 2nd Round Pick Atlanta Gets: JJ Redick Also in free agency I would sign Rasho Nesterovic or Chris Wilcox as a backup big but bringing over David Anderson would be a better solution. New Lineup: PG-Bibby/Rubio/Murray SG-Butler/Redick SF-Jamison PF-Smith/Wilcox C-Horf/Zaza I dont know how realistic this would be and Im kind of new when it comes to making trades but something needs to happen and Rubio could be our PG for the future and possibly even that year if he showed enough promise. Bibby could be dealt or maybe not even resigned this offseason if we knew we were drafting Rubio.

actually i think a big man who can step away from the basket is exactly what we need. horford and zaza cant go out farther then the high post and do a good enough job down low rebounding and guarding opposing big men

He probably wont be a lottery pick but should be a mid to late 1st rounder. Anyone else hope we pick him up at 19 or 20 wherever we are picking? I think he has potential to play the 1 and 2 and would be a good back up to bibby for a few years.

As a backup PF I dont think you can go wrong. He will give us somewhat more national exposure and works too hard to not be at least a 12 and 8 guy over his career. I think what we would get from hansbrough is the same as when he is in his late 20s. He could possibly get you 15 a game at the most and probably no less than 8. He would be a dependable player and could find a role on this team. Ill be honest I hate all the hansbrough love around here since I live in North Carolina but you cant deny he wont back down from anyone.
