  1. above all that, i didn't have to hear any of that commentating bullsh*t that most of you guys had to go through because i had the volume on ZERO. great game indeed!
  2. all the celts fans i'm hearin are whinin and cryin about the refs
  3. haha props to thoes two hawks fans that i just saw in the crowd
  4. i'm watching the game with no volume on ... best game i've ever watched where the hawks played at the celtics!
  5. damn sounds scary ... hope he's alright after all his checkups and everything.
  6. Not bad... not bad at all. But those turnovers per game look scary, and 68% FT? Looks like he's the same ol' same ol' as he was back then.
  7. when can he start playing for us? and didn't he play in the d-league? how were his stats this year?
  8. at least he tries on defense. better than nothing.
  9. he needs to learn that this defense goes as he goes ... he hasn't been going as of late on D and we've seen that. he hasn't been as dynamic and hasn't been as annoying to opponents as he usually is ... blame it on the coaching, blame it on the player, idc ... but something has to give. i wouldn't exactly be in favor of this but if we really had to rebuild, we'd have to let go of woodson and/or smith. it seems like the cogs on this team aren't enough to plug the holes on this roster ... if that made any sense. woodson can't enforce his will on his players (josh smith) and that's just a bad sign. i don't care how good you started off.
  10. just quick observations for now because of my workload ... but my thoughts so far on this D: -josh smith is on lazy mode. didn't watch the first quarter but has given up crucical points in moments of comeback to scalabrine ... can't let a dangerous shooter like that have open room. -no one can match rondo's speed. bibby is just not close and JJ is getting clowned. glad we're getting rio back ... hopefully he is a small part of the solution. -wonder what it takes to make josh smith motivated? -team hasn't been buying into woody's D in the past few games... confused as to what the hell just happened to this team's chemistry that would make them play like a completely different team.
  11. welcome back mario !! his role will stay the same as last year, right? wonder how he'll be subbed in now with teague, crawford, and evans on the team ... but really we could use someone like evans ... watching joe johnson and mike bibby trying to stick with rondo is traumatizing.
  12. this has got to be a joke...
  13. According to "Hawks PR Man" on Twitter, the Hawks have released their reserve forward Othello Hunter. I guess with the "emergence" of Collins, we don't really need any more big men like Othello... he might have been taking too long to develop anyways.
  14. we were never a true defensive team to begin with... we rely more on our offense than our defense.
  15. It wasn't the pitching that kept us out of the playoffs. It was the hitting. We wasted too many good pitching performances too early in the season because we couldn't bring in any run support. And in terms of the "Wait" for prospects... delaying their arbitration by that much time is a huge difference. I don't think a lot of fans realize this... but delaying an arbitration can save an organization millions of dollars, especially for someone like Heyward who, if he pans out as expected, will be demanding $15-20MM per year, that money saved during the Wait is very useful. That millions of dollars is crucial to a mid-market team like the Braves.
  16. Is there a way we could replace Marvin this offseason for perhaps Gerald Wallace? Or trade him to the Grizzlies if they lose Rudy?
  17. We lost because of Woodson. He left Bibby out of the 4th quarter until it was too late. Every one knows it's Bibby who conducts this offense. When we couldn't get anything going on offense in the 4th, Woodson should have thrown Bibby back in as quick as he could, but instead he left Crawford and Johnson out there to their own little iso plays and left the offense in shambles. We were trying to run a halfcourt offense without a coordinator (Bibby). When we started scoring again, it was when we were playing an up-tempo offense... just bad coaching by Woody.
  18. It's too bad that shots warming up don't mean jackshit. 75% of the players in the league make wide open shots especially in practice.
  19. Marlon Byrd is over rated. And Arodys Vizcaino is at LEAST 3 years away. Maybe up to 5.
  20. DeRosa will be demanding a contract worth $6-8M. That's not exactly the type of money you pay your utility player - even if you're a big market team like the Yankees. If he went there, he'd be the starting left fielder. And if you read my post, I said that rotation was ordered by salary...
  21. DeRosa will laugh at the idea of being a backup to Melky and Matt Diaz.
  22. He looks all clumsy... he's a decent bench player that's it.
  23. "Dec. 22 - 11:47 pm et Coach Mike Woodson said Tuesday that he hopes that injured Joe Smith (thumb) can return sometime after Christmas. His return should not impact fantasy leagues, other than to steal a few minutes here and there from the Hawks' frontcourt." http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=nBa&id=350 ...so I'm guessing soon. Hopefully as soon as the Cavaliers games. We really need him for the back-to-back one.
