  1. Someone I'd like to give a look at is Arnaz Battle. I wouldn't mind trading away a late round draft pick for him. He's a Harry Douglas player and can do everything Douglas can. I wouldn't mind Marvin Harrison, but he's more of a possession type receiver and not a downfield receiver. We already have two POSS receivers in Michael Jenkins and Brian Finneran.
  2. Hahahaha, you must be crazy if you think the Braves would actually have the money to sign Hanley Ramirez. Hanley is one of the best players in baseball right now and he will also be one of the highest paid in the history of the game. And I don't like hearing 'We should have gotten this guy instead of Michael Minor or that guy'. The scouts see this kid every day and I'm sure they know what they're doing out there more than we do. I'm sure, CBA that you have never seen a single game of Michael Minor in your life. So I would suggest that you save your judgment on the kid until you actually see him pitch in any level of the minors. And the draft tactic you proposed is nonsense. You don't draft players in the first round to fill a need. There were no 3B prospects in the first round that would have been able to step in once Chipper Jones retires. This isn't the NFL Draft where you can replace players constantly through the draft.... And if it were anything, I really wanted Zach Wheeler but he was taken right before us. I also hear the Braves already had a deal in place for Michael Minor a few days before the draft but weren't allowed to say anything because of MLB rules against that or something... I don't have the link but if you look online you will surely find it. Anyways, I'm sure the scouts see something in this kid that we don't. He looks like he's MLB ready and should be ready in about two maybe three years if he develops fairly in the minors. He has a plus-plus changeup and has room to develop more velocity on his 4-seamer. I wasn't a big fan of the pick either, but I have faith in our scouts and I think Minor looks like a solid and a lot safer pick.
  3. Fox Sports reports and Adam Schefter reports. Falcons must re-sign Roddy White now and go after a dynamic slot option for a third receiver. We have no speed in the receiving core after Roddy and we are limited with down-field receivers after losing Douglas. I was feeling that Douglas would have a breakout season this year, but I'm just hoping he recovers just fine. Torn ACLs are hard to recover, especially as a receiver.
  4. I can see why Diesel can be viewed as crazy around here because of his hatred towards Marvelous Marvin, but I think it's better to hear it from all sides of the discussions instead of one. Many times I agree with Diesel but there are also some times that I think he's crazy. You don't have to read the topics that Diesel starts (it's not like he's forcing everyone to read it). Just don't mind it then if it offends you this much that you'd start a topic about it man... better yet, this is why there is an ignore function on the message boards.
  5. This is what Smith does all the time. However he does have a move where he backs up an opponent and usually does a hook shot or something of that sort.
  6. This is a weird one that I never understood from you, Dies'. You said once that Wright and Marvin are basically the same player except Wright was taller. But I would really rather have Marvin over Wright at this point.
  7. I voted no. I don't think of Josh Smith's moves as 'posting up'. If he does post up, he doesn't do it like most bigs do. I guess it depends on your definition of posting up. I always thought it was what Shaq, Dwight, and Yao do.
  8. Okay nevermind. I'm rest assured. I looked online and Amazon was selling it for around $200 with shipping and handling. And they have a 10 dead pixel warranty, if only 10 pixels are dead then you can return it. Anything less than that you can't. I'm more rest assured with this extra $20 that I forked over for the better return policy.
  9. A friend of mine just told me to stick with what I have and don't worry about the online prices because the return policies aren't the same.
  10. I settled with going to Staples because someone told me that some sites would not accept returns even if there was a dead pixel if you ordered it from them. I was worried about that so I figured I should just go to a store that sells monitors and a store that I know has a good return policy. I settled with a 21.5" wide LCD monitor. Samsung 2233SW. I feel bad though since I was kinda questioning whether or not I should buy it there or online but I was really worried about the return policies so I panicked and bought it on the spot for $220. I looked it up online and it was only $160. Am I stupid? If it was stupid, I'm just going to return it to the store and risk the dead pixel thing online.
  11. Thanks guys, I annoyed a bunch of people on Twitter and so far Zaza, Kemba Walker, and Falcons' writer Michael J. Moore gave me shoutouts. :P
  12. I wouldn't want Flip back anyways. It'll be another reason for Woodson to bench Teague (veteran over rookie). We barely have enough minutes and shots to go around already. I'd rather us stick with who we have right now.
  13. You can't go wrong with an HP. Had mine for two and a half years now and it's still as strong as the ones being released today. It's an HP a6130n. I bought just the unit tohugh, no monitor. It came with a mouse and a keyboard (that I had to replace because they broke). You can always upgrade your HP also. It's easy to open up.
  14. I'm leaning on this one. http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/asus-vh222h-lcd-display/4505-3174_7-33483122.html?tag=mncol;lst Any thoughts?
  15. Looking to replace my CRT monitor that's about five or so years old. It's really old and the screen is just pissing me off now... the black on the sides keep coming into the screen and shrinking it. It only goes up to 1024 x 768 and when I try to make it larger it makes your eyes hurt. The screen keeps getting bigger and then smaller when you're using it randomly and that also hurts my eyes. I'm wonder what company sells the best monitors, what size monitors should I buy (heard I should look around 20 inchers)? And if you have any other tips or suggestions. Or if you love your monitor now, tell me about it. There are some deals on this forum I go to. Many of them are Samsungs. I have a Samsung HDTV 40" in my room so I don't know if it will look pretty ghey if I have a monitor and a TV that look exactly alike. There is something like a 22" Dell monitor that's around $87 after mail-in rebate that I'm thinking of getting but not sure if Dell makes any good computer parts. I don't do a lot of gaming. I just browse the internet and watch TV series on my computer. Occasionally I'll play a game, but it's not like I have the best video card in the world (I have a stock vid-card from HP since my computer is pre-made but that's another topic). So yeah... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  16. TO ANYONE WHO SIGNED UP FOR THIS have you been getting a lot of calls from 1-800 numbers? since i been getting A LOT of them and im wondering if it's from that free magazine signup lol I dont remember if i put my number on it, do you?
  17. I really like how Garret looks. I'm not impressed with Morris. Teague looks slow footed on defense, but looks good on offense.
  18. You're talking about a First Baseman though. Not a lot of 1B in the league are that bad in hitting. A first baseman usually has a lot of power and Kotchman has very poor power. He's still young, but his ceiling as a hitter is not that high. Having a first baseman who only hits for average kils a team. That's what his problem was in LA too which is why the Angels ditched him off for Teixeira.
  19. http://ebaumnation.com/2009/07/22/jordan-crawford-dunks-on-lebron-james Here's a better quality one.

Garret looked good. Morris looks kinda dumb...
  22. I think our cornerback core is fine. We lost Foxworth, but I have a good feeling about Von Hutchens and Chris Owings. I have a feeling Owings will be the starting CB by the time the season starts or somewhere close to that time. Remember, last year we had a terrible pass rush. With an improved pass rush by the addition of Peria Jerry and Sidbury along with the return of Trey Lewis, I'm sure our pass rush will help boost our pass defense and take some stress off of our cornerbacks. Also keep in mind that in the Cover 2, the cornerbacks are not as relied upon as some other defenses because they mostly play zone and safeties are integrated into the pass coverage as much as cornerbacks are. (Boy, talking about football sure gets me fired up for this season...)
  23. Woah, I think your'e undervaluing Jordan Schafer there a bit. Although I don't agree that he'll be much of a Grady Sizemore in his career, I do think his ceiling is still quite high with his ability to field, steal bases, and also has considerably a lot of pop in his bat for a center fielder. He was injured all year with a wrist injury, yes. But I also believe he wasn't ready for the majors. He couldn't hit a curve in spring training, but I was willing to look past it because of his potential and the fact that J. Anderson and G. Blanco were not much of an improvement over him. However, I think he will be ready next year and should be a serious contender to win a starting spot in the outfield - probably his old spot which is in center. I think our outfield next year will look something like McLouth at left, Schafer center, and Heyward at right when he is ready.
  24. I wish there were more mixtapes of this kid on YouTube... so far I've only found two good ones. It's good to hear we got him signed already. Anyone have an idea how much he signed for?
