I said his defense is serviceable. At times, he lets a few points go by him easily but can not be mistaken as a Mike Bibby on D. On the offensive side of the ball, as a PG, Crawford has surprised me a lot. He's played very well off the bench and hearing from a lot of NY / GSW fans how he is selfish and a chucker, I didn't think we'd find ourselves a guard who could score and pass with Crawford. It is still the beginning of the year so I knock on wood when I say it, but Crawford looks like the perfect sixth man for this team.

The thought of Marvin banging bodies with other players in the league somewhat frightens me. He can barely keep a hold on the ball when he drives to the rim. Every time he drives hard to the rim it seems like he always finds a way to lose control of it. This has been happening for a long time now, not just this year either. He needs to have better body control and needs to improve ball handle... that's what his problem is.

What is the final price do you guys think of HD Channels + NBA League pass for DirectTV? I'm just wondeirng because I might be getting laid off at work so I don't know if I should be spending my money on too much TV or not.

Now I will question whether or not I should get the NBA League Pass. If it's just the same ol' good-but-not-great Hawks, I do not want to watch them this year.

Joe Johnson is too easy to shut down... he heats up in the first quarter and you already know he'll be shut down for the rest of the game and who will step up on offense? Jamal Crawford? Nope. Marvin Williams? Hell no. Josh Smith? lol get out... No one will step up. We are still another superstar away from being amongst the top teams of the league.

I'm thinking of getting HD channels for my 40" HDTV in my room. I'm paying for it all myself. The reason I'm thinking of doing it or not is because obviously it looks good (and I'm also buying the NBA league pass) but I'm thinking not to because next year I will be going to college... I don't watch too much TV, but my older brother does and he often watches in my room. I'm just wondering if you guys think HD channels will be worth it. I'm happy enough with the NBA League pass but from everyone that has HD channels, I hear it's definitely worth it.

Is there a stat to prove this? Because I want to show it to my friend who's a big Thunder/Durant fan just to bust his balls

This game is awfully frustrating. Not the gameplay because the gameplay is much improved from last year thanks to better court spacing and more realistic player personalities/tendencies, but the glitches are just atrocious. It constantly gets stuck for me during games and the framerate issues are definitely noticeable. At first when I heard about the lags, I didn't think it would be bad but my lags are pretty bad. It seems to happen more often in certain courts or at the end of the quarters. I heard they are making a patch right now to address these issues. If you are thinking of buying this game right now, I'm not saying you shouldn't. But I'm saying you should definitely wait until after the patch is released. I'm also disappointed not to see AJ Price in this game... he was drafted in the first round yet he's still not in Pacers roster. Maybe he didn't sign his contract while the rosters were being released... I don't know. But overall, the game is good. I've just been playing an Association with a fantasy draft with my brother while they fix up the game. Once the patch(es) are released and the lags/some of the glitches are fixed, I will start my Hawks season. I'm also waiting for the opening day roster update to come because the rosters that come with the game do'nt have Collins on the roster yet.

What's new, Hawksquawk? I haven't posted in a long, long time and there are too many reasons to list. But basically I've been busy with school and work (school and house). I've been doing my best to keep up with the latest Hawks happenings though, and I'm pumped for the season to start. I'm about to be on my way to purchase NBA 2k10 from K-Mart to try and get me even more pumped for the season. I'm just wondering what you guys think will be the rotation during the season? How many minutes will each player get and which player do you guys think will ride the bench the whole year? I don't see Woodson being able to play more than 10 players although it would be nice if he could spread the minutes around these players... I wouldn't exactly rely on IGN for game scores. They've been rumored to be paid by EA to put out some good reviews. And it's not hard to believe since they always put good reviews out for every game. For example, I think Fight Night Round 4 was a terrible game. I posted this in the topic of OperationSports though, Dolfan or anyone else who has bought this game can help me out. I'm having a bad feeling about cancelling my order but am still thinking if this is worth it or not. I don't know if I'll have time to play this this fall since I'll definitely be buying NBA 2k9 and playign Marvel Alliance 2 with my brother on the 360....

If not, I'll be holding a league online that have some peopl that I've been playing with for 3-4 years now and they've been active throughout the year. I'm just looking for active players though. I'm not a lawn expert or anything like that so forgive me if I ask something stupid. I barely even mow the lawn, but I'm taking up this 'special' interest in renovating the lawn in my front and back yard and I'm just asking for some advice. I'm doing these for my parents because my brother who usually has to mow the lawn is working more often now and he's probably going to move out soon. So I'm just looking to help my parents out and do a better job at it than my brother was. It's not a competition... it's just that when I do something, I want to do it my way and the way I want to go with here is to make the lawn looking like the best in the neighborhood. lol So anyways, I don't know where to start... I just need tips and tricks and if you guys have any methods or products that you think I should use please tell me about it. I have one of those lawn mowers that you have to push, not one of those cool ones that you can ride. The lawn in my front yard isn't bad, but I noticed when I mowed the lawn yesterday that the land was uneven and there were often mounds of dirt in random places so it was kinda hard to mow that part lol. My dog shits in the front yard, is that good or bad? I always thought his poop was good for the grass as a fertilizer, but like I said... I'm not too good with this kind of stuff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was involved in quite a heated argument in another forum because I was arguing that EA always hypes up their game and even though it looks good in about a week or so after buying it, it doesn't come through in terms of expectations. Madden never failed to disappoint me, and I was very bitter against EA Sports because of how terrible of a game Fight Night Round 4 was. I hope I'm right with this one. Dolfan you usually say a game is really good after you buy it... which is why I'm thinking maybe people say it's good after a week or so because they're trying to convince themselves that it was worth the $60 investment. lol

I don't see why Roy wouldn't be able to surpass Joe Johnson this year. JJ last year almost led the league, if he didn't already, in minutes per game and wasn't nearly as productive as Brandon Roy. This year, JJ's minutes are projected to go down as Crawford and Teague will surely take the minutes away from him (although you never know with Woody).

Yeah, for a rookie pro he is killing the ball in the minors, but he needs to improve his strikeout numbers from what I can tell. Striking out in nearly a fourth of your at-bats is not a good thing. Maybe he's just making adjustments in Rome.
