  1. Of all the things to carry over from the Woodson regime...couldn't LD just shave his eyebrows?
  2. I realized there was no way Howard was going to foul out when he had five and used his elbow to ride Zaza's face out of bounds in order to clear a lane for Nelson right in front of the official. On the other hand, we will usually be at a disadvantage in terms of number of attempts because we are a jump shooting team and the Magic, well, the Magic have Dwight Howard.
  3. This is by far LD's most frustrating feature as a coach. Awful flashbacks of the Woody years. Horford does not pick up fouls at a high rate and is not guarding Howard. He should have been brought back in the game when things went sideways in the 2nd. The Magic were absolutely dominating the glass, particularly on their side of the court.
  4. When was the last time the Hawks plucked a productive player from late (20 or above) in the first round or the second round? Don't say J-Craw II because he is still an unknown quantity.
  5. Woooooooe to all Hawks fans. Us vs the World I tell you! Look folks, Dwight Howard is the biggest name in the series and he had a monstrous game. If we win game 2 and/or the series, we will get our shine.

    My thoughts..

He put in most of his work on scrubby ET and Josh Powell, who has no business checking him (although I thought JP put up a valiant fight and kept him away from the cup for the most part). Twin and Zaza had him frustrated; further, Twin had him on click-clack.

    wtf hinrich?

Are you guys kidding me? Let's take a step back and not over-analyze here. This is a non-story. To the OP -- you are correct, this is the precise definition of picking nits. It's a tribute to tonight's effort that this is the Board's biggest complaint from the game!
  8. Dude was hoopin' out there, no doubt.
  9. Really tough to get juiced about this after what we've seen this year, in the context and backdrop of what happened last year...but I'll be watching and bringing my A game of course at this time of year. Hope the Hawks do the same.

    Hawks Madness

Right...and the funny thing is there are still people on this board who still think BK was an excellent GM.
  11. Any way to get Robert Sura, Jr. on a 10-day to help us play out the string? He is really good this time of year.
  12. Indeed, there has been an OSJ (old school joe) sighting. Looked like a young buck (not the Milwaukee variety) out there with the headband.
  13. Wow. C'mon man, that is some pretty hardcore speculation/reaching. Sund himself said he was reluctant to give up JC2.
  14. Horford should get some love somewhere for his floor game and his mid range J.
  15. Yep, that brings him to what, -9999?
  16. Welcome to the Squawk! I can tell you are new around here because a veteran squawker always seizes any opportunity to tie in Marvin Williams and his draft status. With the topic involving UNC basketball you missed a golden opportunity there. Better luck next time -- stay with it and you'll soon find your way.
  17. Channelsurfing was long one of my best friends. I'm sure an alternative will crop up soon, if it hasn't already.
  18. Likes: Flashes of motion offense that at times looks brilliant. Decent game manager, notably better than the last head man. Ridiculous defensive switching scheme that was regularly abused in years past has been abandoned. Doesn't give off a vacant stare on the sideline (again, notable upgrade). Has two fully functional eyebrows (upgrade). Dislikes: Smooth is completely out of control with shot selection. Worried that players are too comfortable with him whereas Woody was something more of an authority figure. Disappointed to see the 2 foul "foul out of the first half regardless of situation" policy has carried over to the new regime. Neutral: We all complained that Woody failed to develop players but over time he was proved to be right in just about every instance. Starting to worry that the same thing may be true of Jeff "I may be outta my league" Teague.
  19. :slap1: I find it hard to believe there is someone out there who still pines for the days of Woody AND BK. There are some who supported one or the other, but very few indeed who would have them both back.
  20. The final piece to the championship puzzle is in place at long last.
  21. I was about 12 when this game was played and was so excited after that one. Visions of knocking off the vaunted Bulls and a deep playoff run danced in my head. Then we got our @$$es handed to us in three straight games. Life of a Hawks fan. Definitely the worst was trading Nique on the first place team. Best in recent memory was Game 4 against Boston. The JJ crossover moment may be the greatest singular moment in my Hawks fandom. I was so young watching the Nique-Bird game that I barely remember it, although I've seen the film a bunch of times since.
