  1. Quote: Best thing about this is the fans of Atlanta are really getting to know Josh Smith. Many fans are looking for the next Michael Vick(in terms of excitement). They just may have found him in Smoove. Great observation! I've had at least 3 or 4 friends who are casual fans call me tonight and tell me how much they love Smoove now. That next year they'll be season ticket holders.
  2. Just wanted to get some thoughts. Found this on boston.com/sports Trouble for Perk? Link|Comments (0) Posted by Greg Lee, Globe Staff April 28, 2008 09:52 PM Video replays showed that Boston center Kendrick Perkins and Atlanta forward Marvin Williams both stepped slightly on the playing floor during an altercation that resulted in four technical fouls midway through the second quarter. The NBA could suspend Perkins and Williams for Game 5 on Wednesday in Boston for those actions.
  3. Front page at Fox Sports though! Green Giant Killers! on yahoo sports!
  4. I am through the roof! Congrats to the guys! This is huge for ATL!
  5. I'm gettin' JJ's face tat-ed across my heart!
  6. The building is roaring!!! BABY! This is the most significant/classic sports event of my life!!! RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW TONIGHT!
  7. Momentum could be swinging at the right time.
  8. Quote: I'll give it to him. Nice play. I still want more Childress, though, he looks like a man on a mission tonight. Maybe we can play him at the point a little to give Bibby a rest. I think Law has earn his time back at the helm. And Chill has gone up like a man for the boards.
  9. Solo even playing solid! The energy level in the the locker room has got to stay crunk.
  10. I'm already getting a piece of fan mail ready for the big guy!
  11. I think I just felt the whole city of Atlanta shake with energy!
  12. Quote: They replayed Rathburn's reaction to the Pierce deal. He was screaming: Give me a break . . . . give me a break. Boston is complaining about us taunting them? That's what they've done all year. He went numts and it was great. Yeah I heard that on 790 today! He said something about "showin' nipples" or "bumpin' nipples". Too hilarious. I got fired up listening to that reply.
  13. Well, J. Chill must've read all the posts saying it was time to step up 'cause dude came to bang tonight. Sounds like Boston is surely flustered and playing like thugs.
  14. Rathburn just said, "In your face Posey! Ring around the Posey!" I think I may always have them on in the background after tonight. LMFAO
  15. I am dying! I'm working the graveyard so I have to listen to the game on the radio. I usually hate "homer" announcers, but I love Dennis and Rathburn right now! They are clownin' on Pierce! Go Hawks! Battle back!
  16. I think we all could agree that Marvin could play better. I think are expectations for the guy are huge, but I'd like to see someone produce some evidence of why we think he's such a weak-link?
  17. I think that Josh's three balls were a pleasant intangible. It was fun to watch the bench's reaction to the shots as opposed to his slams. He kept the energy up in everything that he did and everyone in the building fed off of him.
  18. Well said, DieHard. It's not only the fans but everyone who is buying into this Celtic Hoop-lah. This ATL team has a quiet demeanor about them and the reactions Boston got last night were no doubt set-up by listening to these skanks jaw for the first two matches. Also, people are saying what a mistake it was to jab back; that the Celtics will react to it by stepping up their game. Make 'em prove it. I'll be damned if I think this young Hawks team is satisfied with one win. If they're gonna come back with the fire they better do it, b/c ATL is too!
  19. I noticed it too. But, with last nights game, it was much more blatant I think due to their being out hustled. I felt like it was more than just a high pick or an elbow, but that extra push/force added to it and the mal-intent.
  20. Sounds oddly like some of the things I hear our commentators say. I've heard Rathburn say when Smoove hits a 3 bucket he thinks he'll never miss from there again. or, something to that affect.
  21. The stadium production staff would be foolish not to take advantage of the highlights from last nights game. I wouldn't mind seeing that reel before the game tomorrow! Including a nice slow motion shot of Horford putting Pierce in his place. I haven't gone to the official site yet, but I need to go see the stills from last nights match-up.
  22. This reminded me of David West totally punking Nowitzki out earlier in the DAL/NOR series. There is hardly anything that makes me more upset than seeing a grown man getting utterly blasted in front of a crowd. Nowitzki just stood there. But, to the best of my knowledge there was no comment from the league. Glad to see the Hawks are standing up for themselves like men. The Hawks are a better group of guys than most other teams. If they wanted to give Horford a "T", fine. I'm sure he would've taken that hit, but the intention of Peirce's gesture went beyond a game. No class.
  23. The meaning of the sign shouldn't hold as much weight as the intention; although, it is hilariously Thug-tastic and fun to talk about. The intention of the sign is much different from that of what Horford did. Horford's taunt is an in-game action, whereas this beaten punk decided it was to be made personal. Very weak on his part and is far less classy than anything Horford could have done or said. What a clown. Anyone else think future Hall of Famer is a rush to judgment about Pierce? I admittedly know little about his career, but ... thoughts?
