Cam and hunter were bothering this raptors team defensively I don’t care what anyone says . Refs got hunter out the game and LP went to panic mode on his lineup . i don’t know bembry isn’t better than cam or hunter defensively in my opinion so I’m not sure what LP could have done to keep up the same impact. we really got to improve this bench and fast ! The young starters gave us great minutes but the bench is so shitty right now outside of Teague it’s hard to give the young guys a break. And last I swear it seems like John Collins has been on the floor literally the whole second half ! That’s nuts! anyways kudos to our small ball starting lineup which is our young core they did well the majority of the game but they need way more help from the bench to get these wins.

I love bembry hustle but I only see him coming in for defensive situations after this season. He’s very poor on the offense end . bembry need to really comeback with a corner 3 next off season to be apart of the rotation in my opinion.

Yeah my biggest concern is keeping the pick and not being able to draft him honestly and that’s not to say I wouldn’t be happy with wiseman. i rather have a impactful player like Edwards who can atleast contribute as a scorer off the bench right away while getting the luxury to play with vets on the bench! the perfect scenario in keeping our pick TO ME is drafting Edwards to play with a veteran based bench of good players! bench... Pg- teague Sg- edwards Sf- add another vet maybe Marvin Williams or if we resign Parker....Bertans at SF and Parker or Trez at PF Pf- bertans C- Trez or Poethel

We will get some talent FA but just because we have the most cap space doesn’t guarantee anything ! please! We can’t start thinking like knicks ...we got the cap space so they will come...nah not even . i believe Schlenk is handling this the right way. Get some of these guys via trade like we did Teague and start negotiating early to keep them. Then get the rest in the off season to round out the bench rather than trying to get EVERYONE in FA cause we have the cap. cap means nothing for the Atlanta hawks organization in the past . Unless trae being here has changed that I still don’t believe it means anything

Depending on if we land the number 1 pick or not ...it will probably be possible to trade the number one pick and get a good asset back BUT at what position?... Say we get the number 1 pick and it’s decided to be traded Trae has PG position locked down Huerter has SG position locked down somewhat Cam will have SF position locked up at least in the small ball starting 5 Hunter will have PF position locked up at least in the small ball starting 5 Collins has either PF position locked down in a traditional starting 5 or Center in a small ball starting 5 We really just need a starting traditional Center along with a very good bench and we will be much much better but we don’t need to trade our pick to do any of this! id rather continue starting the young guys along with very good role playing vets backing them up and have a good traditional center who can start and play major minutes when we need him too.

I hate to break it down like this but it’s likely the fear of striking out in free agency....so acquire the talent you’d go after now and go ahead and start the early negotiation to keep them once we land them in trade.

Well I would say wiseman has legit star potential but he’s 3-4 years away....by the time he’s ready to contribute Trae would be ready to leave . but as far as keeping our own pick ...if we somehow land the number 1 pick I believe the only player that can provide some type of instant impact is Edwards. Wiseman and LaMelo aren’t ready yet

I would say Myles Turner is the best fit out there for us but absolutely love Noel on this team however presti is too aware of his value therefore Noel isn’t available even though he doesn’t start over Adams. noel fits today’s needs as a center greatly on the defensive end but highly limited offensively....yeah he’d be fantastic here but not available I’m sure

lol well that’s just apart of the “building a contender”......you got to wait it out . Ain’t no guaranteed moves to place you in contender status unless you somehow get a big 3 assembled and that’s probably not a realistic option for the hawks to do such a thing.

At 6'7 he plays with a ton of heart but at some point you can't always make up for your height depending on the opponent. IF I were the clippers I would trade Trez for Adams....but hey that's my opinion .

Not sure what you exactly believe is significant on the table but I disagree. Both are good contributors in the right situation however neither are perfect and have certain flaws like any player. The young core is the starters to my understanding so I’m not sure what you mean. The bench is or will be better vets that can actually contribute to winning when they are on the court . It will be LPs job on a nightly basis to roll with who’s hot as far as who plays “big minutes” for that game...but the “plan” I’m sure is to roll with the young guys to play big minutes as long as they are contributing and getting wins. Most of the talk in this thread is in regard to the bench except Adams and Drummond

I’ve been preaching that Schlenk does this over trying to battle it out with everyone in the 2021 free agency. This is a much smarter move in my opinion. I also suggested going after Vanvleet and Harrell but since we have Teague now I’d much rather keep Teague and either resign Parker or Harrell . just a thought I know Harrell is better and less injury prone then Parker but I wouldn’t mind keeping Parker. Parker would probably be cheaper. Harrell I can see demanding a good bit of money

Horford would be a good leader to get back for this young team when you think about it. collins can learn a lot from Al as well as our other young players. Not to mention horford can still contribute to winning games. the “only” thing I don’t like about bringing horford back is his age and contract! Horford is good but at this point he’s not worth 27 mil per ! Not that Drummond or Adams is worth that much but with them being younger than Al I’d much rather to pay a younger center

I would be ok with adding josh Jackson. I hear he is barely playing in Memphis. Seems like many have given up on this kid.
