  1. I'm posting something about this later. Stay tuned!
  2. I have to disagree with considering the Nets a "super team". Joe, D12, and DW are natural losers. The Nets will be breaking that trainwreck up in 2 years. Just be patient. Our superstar player is on the way. This time around we have to actually draft the mofo though.
  3. and I laugh when people throw out Atlanta as a favorite destination for players. They live here but have no interest in playing here. Hey...who in the hell was taking less money to play in Miami before Wade arrived? Lets work on building something first.
  4. So how do we know Horford is on board with being the centerpiece of a rebuilding team? Clean house!
  5. They did not sign him up for 6 years to rebuild through free agency. The man is in the early stages of changing a culture.
  6. I think they end up being the same team. Just good enough to get to the playoffs but never good enough to have a realistic chance to win it all. I'd rather have a few cracks at drafting a transcending player that gives Hawks a shot to compete for a title yearly.
  7. I don't think Teague has enough trade value consider the idea. Horford on the other hand is perceived very well around the league. He's the type of player teams covet. High character guy (does get a bit whiny though) with a good touch on the shot. Besides I don't see Horford being happy with making the transition from a playoff team to rebuilding team.
  8. If D12 is a no-go then it's time to sell. Al and Josh should bring enough talent back so that this team can be OKC by Ferry's 5th year.
  9. but these are the words of M.C. You don't know. Take the Ray Allen going to the Heat thing for example. All indications were everybody on the Celtics got along fine. Now we're hearing Ray and Rondo had beef.
  10. hmmm???? He's not a malcontent, and he does not want out. The guy wants to win but has trouble expressing his passion for winning in a politically correct way like Horford. Plus I put a ton of stock in everything Josh does to force the opposing team to adjust for his shot-blocking ability. If we're talking offensively they may even out, but if we're talking total game then keeping Josh is a no brainier.
  11. Keeping Josh and Horford would be silly. One guy has to go, and I hope it is Horford.
  12. Not rebuilding? How many players are under contract after next season? How many of those players are worth a darn? I think the Hawks are using this D12 thing as a smokescreen to stir up interest in the team. Ferry's plan is to tear this thing down and rebuild like the Spurs. We just have to be patient and let the man carry out his 6-year plan.
  13. I hope Josh isn't expecting the Hawks to commit to him. Never happen! Especially since we all know the dude is a max-deal type of talent.smh @ the internet-on-internet crime. I blame the heat. 100+ degree will damn near drive you insane; have you walking around mad for no reason.
  14. We kill Marvin but there is a reason Harris has been traded twice in two years.
  15. Most people here would say no. I say hell yes! Why not build your franchise around the most talented player in basketball period?
  16. He needs to work on his assist numbers if he wants the Josh Smith type status
  17. And I doubt Horford and D12 can coexist. Hawks are at a point where trading Horford is a must.
  18. Now there is a huge void left as far as leadership. I'll preface that buy saying Joe was the leader by default. The other guys assumed he was the leader only because he was the highest paid. This past season exposed Josh as the best, and most vocal, player on the team, but can he assume the role with Al around?
  19. I'm hope older white and young Asian PGs find it attractive as well.
  20. Not to mention Joe Johnson has been a horrible front man for the game in this town. Sorry Joe fans but it's the truth. Joe has the personality of a rotting corpse.
  21. I don't know that helps the Hawks. Sure we watch the NBA but how many of us are watching the Hawks. If the Hawks viewership is high ASG could easily makeup revenue for poor gates by raising cable and dish rates in negotiations.. One thing we do know is Atlanta hated Joe Johnson's style of basketball.
  22. Heard that. Seems Peter Vecsey has a source saying this is already in the works.
  23. Did he even lead the team to a division title? Man our standards are low.
