  1. Who in Europe knows anything about Woody's system? He coached NBA team for several years and this alone would get him nice contract down here if he decided to move to the Old Continent.
  2. A similar research was done in Netherlands ten years ago: Medical Evidence for NDEs. The article basically states that study confirmed that a man can be conscious even when brain is not functioning.
  3. Teague threw some good, crisp passes that Powell and Marvin wasted. He had good game except maybe last several minutes (turnover and charge) which equal to decent overall. He still played better than Jamal, who, at one point, moved away from JR when he attempted a drive. leaving path to the basket wide open. That was just disgusting. I'm not saying that bad games from Crawford make JT a good player, but if the former deserves 30 mins, so does the later (and actually neither does).
  4. I wouldn't mind resigning last year Jamal. This year Jamal is not good for MLE. Give his shots to Joe, Al and Josh and replace him with defensive minded veteran.
  5. No Josh - no win. I'm hoping it's nothing serious.
  6. This might be decided by bench. It's B2B away vs one of the deepest teams in the league, even deeper after the trade. We have advantage in guards department, if our bigs hold their own vs theirs, we have a chance.
  7. Przemek Kujawinski, a blogger, analyzed last 24 seconds of every game this season where points differential was 3 or less. Legend for not self explanatory columns: Ef. - average points per 100 possesions, Pos. - number of possession, TO% - percentage of possessions that ended up with turnover Pos% - percentage of possessions "used" by given player Teams: Players(sorted by Pos%): Hawks had few close games but did well in most of them. Well, we'll miss Mike.
  8. I've been campaigning for consistent minutes for Jeff since the start of the season. Drew lost some respect in my eyes for not developing youngsters. Hopefully this will change. Consistent minutes and more PT when Teauge's playing well. Marvin and Jamal get around 30 mins even when they're off, this should slightly change too.
  9. I'd like to go back to original topic, which is what happens, when we die. Out of body and near death experiences are strong arguments for afterlife. Atheists waive them off claiming that if you take some kind of hallucinogenic substances you get the same or very similar results. But that's simply not the case. Have you ever heard about a man who drastically changed his life after getting high one time? Howard Storm for example, after having NDE (he was technically dead for three hours), changed so much that his wife wanted a divorce because she couldn't recognize him, he seemed to be a strange person to her. Do people, after getting high, say that what they experienced is the real world, something deeper and truer than this reality? No, and that's what you'll hear from people after NDEs. They're deeply convinced that this place is only a shadow of what's "out there". Something worth to think about for a while.
  10. Good play away is a sign of maturity and good omen before play offs. Hawks won some away games with D (not only last two), that's another good sign.
  11. As I already wrote a couple of times after the trade - when his bad interior D isn't much of the factor he's a useful player for this team with his rebounding and hustle, and he runs the floor well too.
  12. Let's face it. Zaza was on the block and no one wanted him. That being said with Kirk upfront his lack of interior D might be less problematic and he can rebound and run the floor. But he shouldn't be on the court with Jamal at the same time. However if he needs consistent +15 mins to be productive I like LD's decision to look for other options.
  13. I'd add: - limit Jamal's minutes to ~25 per, (<20 when he's cold, 30 >= when hot) - address somehow another Joe's shooting slump (is he hurt again?) - do something about center position, maybe start Zaza for 10-15 mins I know he has been horrible as of late but maybe make him guard opposing PFs and don't expect help D (= basket and foul). He can run the floor and rebound and can give us those offensive rebounds Hawks miss this season. I know it's crazy but Collins makes sense only vs Howard and maybe a couple of other seven footers. My point is that I really like Al at 4. Any other ideas?
  14. That's big for them and it might start a new trend esp. in the face of possible lock out. And also chance for Woody.
  15. Every time Smith rebounded the ball he handed it to PG before crossing half court. Immediate progress.
  16. I'm with you, but at the same time Teague is also able to steal the ball as many times as he loses it. When was the last time Hawks scored +30 points on fast breaks?
  17. Crawford might have been the worst Hawks player in the game. When Warriors made 10-0 run with Ellis scoring on Jamal at will I was asking myself why LD didn't bench him. I don't mind playing Crawford for 30 mins when his hot, but when he's clearly outplayed by his guy, coach should react.

    Prediction...

If Gortat continues to come off the bench and Suns make it to the play offs he's a serious candidate with the most double-doubles for the bench player in the league.
  19. Very nice mix. Also very nice choice of music, fits very well.
  20. I don't like Jamal as a starter and I don't like JJ at 3 for longer stretches even more.
  21. tremor

    Teague starting

I don't mind, let him learn. He was pretty decent at offensive end at Phoenix but was clueless at defensive end vs Nash. Hawks need to learn how to defend pick'n'roll.

    Hilton Armstrong

I was surprised to see him listed at 6-11.
  23. This has more to do with the Hawks than any of their rivals. The team goes through serious internal motions. If they get their act together and play like their are able to, they're clearly better than Knicks.
