I pretty much give the whole group of NBA reporters a big F (along with all the columnists) for their efforts last night. They all planned to bury Dwight Howard before free agency even began. Dwight was never going to get a fair shake. He was always going to be a "flip-flopper". It is pretty obvious now that he handled the situation with class and called the teams he turned down (unlike Lebron) instead of just letting them hear it through reports or on twitter.

The error that brought us to the highest we've ever been... This franchise stinks! The developmental route would be a big disaster of an off-season; but, with that said, I am all for tanking the season if DF fails to deliver the players we need to compete.

lol... I'm not sure if you're talking about Rob Tribble, Marc Ryan (most likely) or John Fricke. But oh boy do I agree with you about the 6PM show. Jason says "jump" and Mac asks "how high, daddy?". Jason has to be the most negative radio sports talking head to ever come on the Atlanta airwaves. He is more negative than even John Kincade and Perry Laurentino.

Can you be more specific and tell us which of the dummies you're talking about?

Drew is technically under contract for another couple of months; so he isn't free to go until the Hawks tell him he is.

All that is nice, and maybe even has some validity, but it has nothing to do with what I was commenting on (which was a response to someone's bogus claim that he had an "atrocious" 4th quarter). It's just a terrible opinion that nobody objectively watching would come up with; and an opinion that wouldn't come up in the mind of someone who "would genuinely love to see him succeed" . . .

You are entitled to your opinion based on whatever stats you have . . . But that has nothing to do with what actually happened when he returned halfway through the 4th quarter last night. For someone to say he was "atrocious" in the 4th quarter is someone speaking who is either willingly lying, unknowingly blinded by hate or just didn't watch the game.

You are blinded by your hatred of Josh Smith... Josh wasn't even in the game for the first half of the 4th quarter. We blew a good lead without him. And those "cold-blooded baskets by Horf" were set up by Josh Smith assists. So, how do they prove we should play through Horford when those baskets were not setup by playing through him? A big part of winning that game was Josh Smith's defense and assists during the 2nd half of the 4th quarter.

Nope... he posted up against just about everybody this past season when we decided that Josh posting up would be a good strategy to win.Also, it is smart strategy to post up when you are up against a smaller defender.

Love him or hate him, but the Hawks for once had an identity when Joe was out and Josh was the main guy (Josh in the post and dishing from there, rather than everyone standing around for approx. 17 seconds on a shot clock while Joe waits for a double team and tries to dribble through it).

Joe has been pretty pathetic in the vast majority of his playoff games as a Hawk. Tonight's game was no different. He played better in the 2nd half; but he was terrible in the 1st half. And it wasn't because of double teams. He just didn't shoot well.

Of course, he should have probably missed the 2nd free throw and scrapped for the rebound. There was almost no chance to win after the 2nd free throw.

Now you're just being an ass? It says "team rebound" in the play-by-play. Do you recall everyone on the team grabbing rebounds at the same time?

I'm pretty sure two other Hawks were near the rim, but they were on the other side like they were waiting to rebound. Josh went up and Rondo decided not to challenge him, and was called for a walk.

That's what the box score will read; because a lot of times they just put down "team rebound" . . .

Neither are debatable.Garnett wasn't around the basket, he was about 8-10 feet out. Horford wasn't there.Rondo was on a breakaway. Josh was the one there to catch up with him and force him to try changing his shot, which caused him to walk.I'm pretty sure Josh also had a couple of offensive rebounds late also . . .
