Now they said it was Adrian's Grandson.....That means, AJ's nephew.   That's tough.  That in itself is something that may cause depression.

I believe I heard a version of this as well at some point.

  2. It’s easy to ignore Trae if he’s not on TV, but when you open up the ballot to vote, he is perched firmly at the top of all guards due to his stats. You can’t ignore that. Edwards to me is a great example. He is easily a starter for the West but is buried on the ballot because of counting stats and his place in the voting reflects that.

People are lazy, Trae is the most productive guard on the ballot. If you knew nothing else about basketball you would just roll with that.

  3. Why are we letting SGA get a head of steam to drive in the paint? Why are we not forcing anyone else in a blue jersey to dribble the damn basketball?

Thats on coaching dude, I’m sorry.

They have one offensive engine that can carry them back and we are letting him play without any resistance.

Need to get Bogi some shot attempts.

It's like they don't see how teams play to get Trae off the ball.

Exactly. Force the issue, pressure the ball, zone the outlet.

So here we go folks.. is another 4th quarter meltdown coming?

    Watch for any defensive lapses.

Lapses? We are letting them hang a 40 burger in the 3rd

Rumor is Sac offered Barnes, the beloved Huerter(whos been benched for Duarte), one of their young players, & a pick for Siakam..

So Kvon and JC both benched and on the block.

Those guys were legit 2nd 3rd options for us.. smh

And there are several players on this Current team that are arguably worse than JC AND Huerter! 😂

I never liked the Murray fit, but I can see why Trae wanted him..

He's yet to be paired with anything close to All Star material..

The only thing that was wrong with Kev and JC was us dodging tax. You can’t tell me we couldn’t still use JC’s size and rebounding, or Kev’s skillset in place of the minutes given to the Matthews.

I don’t lose sleep at night wishing they were still Hawks, but we have literally been a worse team without them.

  6. I agree that a light bulb has seemed to turn on for Jalen. I think for the majority of his bball career he has always been bigger and stronger than the other guys on the court. It looks like at this level it is starting to click that his explosiveness makes him FASTER than the other guys too.

When he is in attack mode, he can get in to the paint and explode vertically to the rim before his defender can even make up his mind on where he wants to go. He is playing with a violence and confidence to his game where he is not afraid to attack.

It’s as if he woke up and realized that he is physically superior to the competition. He will for sure blossom in to a special player at this rate

Cam was a good trade.  So was Huerter.  Huerter’s a poor man’s Bogi.  Bey was also a good trade.

I think Murray was a good trade as far as value, but not fit.  Seeing San Antonio flounder I don’t think we’re swapping picks in 2026.  So Gallo was out the door for no return plus two first round picks and a fake first.  That’s not a bad value for Murray.  He’s just not a fit for our current roster.

I guess my point is that we have no track record of pulling off a home run trade for a star. Especially in this current Hawks era. You would have to go back to Joe Johnson to find a trade for a “superstar” and even then it was so controversial that it broke up an entire ownership group.

That’s the level of pressure that you’re dealing with when trying to make these moves happen.

This entire thread is about trades for name guys, and they will likely never happen. What will happen is what ALWAYS happens, and that’s a trade for cap relief or a back of rotation player who won’t disrupt the minutes of our main guys.

We are not going to make a big time trade mid season. Whether we genuinely try or not.

Why does it feel like this is the sentiment with literally every trade discussion we have on here?  And then the Hawks trade a starter for a bag of rocks and a TPE or a young 6th man for a pick and players with one foot out of the league.

Sometimes I really wish I wasn't born a Hawks fan.  :ahf:

Because, WE are the delusional ones as Hawks fans. Our best trade in recent memory is Luka for Trae + a pick. Maybe the Capela trade as a close second. Maybe Rondo for LouWill.

That’s the level of trades we make. When it’s big, it favors the other team. So we end up just dealing small or not at all.

    Why cant he have BOTH??

God knows we have to work for a living..

If he's saying he'd rather preach than play ball, go ahead and do that.. Geez

He is giving Vic Beasley vibes right now.

He doesn't give us enough space to where we got real cap space but his TPE will be massive and functions as an asset.

I’ll take your word as I don’t do TPE arithmetic. But agreed, it’s time to start playing chess and get off some of these contracts for the long term play.
