While I think he is an excellent player, just pointing out that after Embiid went down and teams shifted to put more pressure on Maxey he has really been struggling.  His last 3 games he has averaged 20 points on 35.8% FG% and 30% 3pt% to go with 2.7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2.7 turnovers.  Hope the coaches recognize at some point that other players would struggle with the kind of attention that Trae gets night after night and stop rewarding guys who get free passes in terms of defensive schemes not focusing on them due to having superstar teammates ala Giannis, Embiid, etc.  At least stop rewarding them over guys with better production who are also the focus of opposing defenses.  Winning with better teammates should not obscure the obvious on who the games biggest stars are.

Coaches votes should have to match their gameplans. If you send doubles, box and-1’s, traps on PNR, etc…, against a player you cannot vote for a another guy who you defend straight up and cite winning as the excuse.

Clearly, Trae Young would bust that ass if you left a defender on him 1v1 all game long and it would probably result in more of those coveted wins. So pat yourself on the back, coaches, your gameplan was successful. Don’t double down and punish him for the team loss.

Oh, I finally get a chance to toss icy cold water on a thero post?!

Seriously though, explain why NOP would do that.

Not fighting, just wanna hear your rationale.

My thought is why would WE trade OO and DJ if it weren’t for a big fish?

Woj says CJ is off the table.

Who else does Nola have that would make our FO want to move off of DJ and OO? There is no collection of role players that is worth that haul.

  3. Oh wow, yal are funny old farts lol

AJ McClean is the same AJ from Backstreet Boys

CJ Stroud is the likely NFL ROY, starting QB for Houston.

Lily Singh is a beautiful and hilarious actress/comedian/late night personality.

    Parsons, NFL star.

Kai Cenat was just shouted out courtside at a Hawks game last week, social media influencer.

    Tristan Jass is another influencer.

    We know JHuD, Ron Artest.

The rest I definitely had to google but were loosely familiar.

I think you're blind if you say that Capela is a defensive weakness.   If used correctly, he's one of our defensive strengths.   Here's the thing about defense... Defense is a team undertaking.  You need a team to play good defense.  1 or 2 players is not going to do it.   We don't have three people playing good defense.   Sorry.. we don't.   So we're not one player away or even two players away.

What we need to do is learn to embrace what we are until we can become more defensive.  What we are is an offensive force.   Everybody talks about how many points the Clipps scored on us.  Did you notice, how many points we scored on them?

They are #9 in team defense.   They get high steals, blocks, turnovers.   They give up on the average 112 ppg.   In a regulation game, we put up 144 points and we shot 53.7% from the field.  We crushed this very good defense and we didn't have our best rebounder.  If Clint had played and we had more possessions, we would have won.    If JJ doesn't play like ass, we would have won.   And they are the best team in the league right now.

We should take our cues from teams like the Lakers (showtime) and the Kings (webber years) and embrace being able to score and figure out how to get one or two timely stops.   What will end up happening is we will try to trade to become this great defensive team and we will find ourselves in another 10 year rebuild because we don't know how to do that.   We will always be looking for the right this or the right that.  We can develop what we have... Trade if it makes sense.. but don't trade away valuable players becuase you think it will make us better defensively.  No one player will.

Agreed! Not one player can make us a good defensive team. It’s a culture that has to be bought in to. Effort, communication, toughness, resilience, and CONFIDENCE

Yeah but there's no need to salary dump AJ, which is what this deal becomes basically.  Poor asset mgt.  Atleast give me another rookie, maybe one needing a change of scenery.  Somethin'

I don’t know if anyone has noticed but, we aren’t getting anything out of the kid right now anyway. We have enough history of holding on to a player too long to where he has no value that I am willing to make that move on from him.

Holding and waiting hasn’t worked out well for us.

It isn’t a salary dump when we are getting a player that can actually help us on the court right now. It’s the offseason where we can decide if Okoro is worth resigning or letting him walk based on his play in the 2nd half of the season.

  6. People been talking about DJ’s character since he was drafted. He has always had BS concerns about his upbringing. The same way they wanted give red flags to Ant Man. It just comes with territory when you are a confident young player who isn’t afraid to speak up for yourself.

Games with JJ and Hunter we are a decent team.  As good as last year and maybe better once everyone has figured out their roles.   But this says a lot about our depth as a team.  Your 3rd or 4th best player should be replaceable without going into a full slide.

At full strength I think we are the same .500-ish squad we have been since 21-22 season. I think we are lacking something to make us consistent winners. I don't know how much time Quin needs to get things right, but I'm not encouraged considering the lack of lineup creativity in lieu of trades.

I will say, if the lightbulb ever goes off, we have everything we need outside of frontcourt dominance and team defense.

Never heard the phrase “hot phone date” in my life.  First time for everything 😆

Flashback to the phone chat days listening for the sluttiest messages.  You know what I’m talking about @kg01

okay I'm old sure but what is a hot phone date? I remember the old party line 1-800-SLUT or whatever

Yall are funny and I deserve it lol

Nah, it’s a weeknight, adults have busy schedules. Sometimes you just have to stay home and catch up over the phone when you can’t get together in person lol

My chat game is legit, laying the groundwork for in person over the weekend. If you must know!

  9. Great win, I had a hot phone date but kept the game on in the background.

We have a lot of areas of improvement, even in a win. Lakers are just as dysfunctional as is but a win is a win, and beating Lebron is never easy.

Happy to see Kobe and AJ out there. One would believe that they would get more minutes with how much we struggle this season. But hopefully they are promoted next season to the rotation.

    Go Hawks!

We really need to move Hunter, every year he misses way to much time to be dependent on to be a starter.

I like him off the bench, but yes, to be a vital starter he is too unreliable.

The lack of adjustments on Luka makes yesterday maybe the worst game for Snyder in Atlanta for me.

No coach would ever let Trae kill them all game long like we allow ANY superstar perimeter player to off against us. That is a coaching, scheme, philosophy, etc…. Quin is not trying to win games, he’s trying to prove he is smarter than everyone else. I hate coaches like that.

Quin was brought in because he convinced the front office he could take this group and get more out of them than Nate was able to. He was supposed to be the perfect mix of X’s and O’s and talent development.

He is coaching as if he knows he can lose and his job is still safe. He has zero urgency to his gameplans. We can mix up the rotations and try out different players and combinations but we keep rolling out the same guys AS IF it is working, when it is not.

He has no answers and now the entire roster is the scapegoat. The same players he said he could take to the next level are now hopeless. We look worse than were last season with the majority of the same guys. We were hovering around .500 when Nate lost the locker room. We are knocking on 10 games below .500 before the All Star break. That is unacceptable no matter who you are. This was not a roster that was going through a rebuild. Blame execution, sure, but the coach is responsible for playing the guys who are best able to execute. He is responsible for getting players ready to perform.

He is no scapegoat for all of our problems but he is a part of the problem nonetheless.
