  1. I agree Hotlanta. We had them beat. A couple of good bounce our way and we would have beat them. Encourages me. Now if the Pacers were so down and losing faith in each other as some would have us believe the Wiz would have pushed them at least harder. It was us that made them look bad not Bynum.
  2. After watching the Pacers get it together and take apart the Wiz, I'm even more impressed with the way our guys made the Pacers really extend themselves to beat us.
  3. disappointing finish. Oh well just have to hope to steal one more in Indy.
  4. Win this last 5 minutes just like you did in the 3rd Quarter. We got this.
  5. Just starting to look like the Hawks want it more. And the pressure is building with each minute ticked off on the Indy side. The backup center is fine, just figured Hibbert played 80% of the minutes or so during regular season and the backup 20 or so. Now Hibbert is only brought in when the backup gets in trouble. What a turn around.
  6. I think it's funny that Mahmimi (sp?) got in foul trouble so they have to bring in Hibbert. Pretty sad when you've gone from possible defensive player of the year to someone they have to play because the scrub backup is in foul trouble.
  7. We're right there though. All we have to do is pull even going into the 4th and then out tough them in the last quarter. Glad we didn't let them run away from us in the 3rd.
  8. Come on coach Bud, settle them down. This last 5 minutes of the 3rd is critical. Play hard!
  9. In the 80s when Ainge was punching Tree Rollins and Rollins bit him, neither was kicked out. The refs picked two people not involved in the fight that were less integral to each team. It's the NBA way. They won't kick PG out unfortunately.
  10. We don't need a Pero meltdown. Get it together, guy!
  11. Passed 40 quite awhile back. Mid 50s. I'm satisfied, but I would like to see an Atlanta Hawks championship before I die :)
  12. What a neat idea. Would have loved to do something like that back when I was living in Atlanta and attending playoff games in the 80s.
  13. Keep pouring it on in the 3rd and put these Pacers to bed! Go Hawks!!
  14. The pressure is still on them to prove they are a #1 seed and win game 5. They had a ton of pressure again today. I don't think they hold up so well under constant pressure. Us? What pressure could our guys have? They can just go out and play their best game and either way not a lot to lose. What we're gonna prove we aren't worthy of an 8 seed? We already did that. We got no pressure they have it all. Sorry meant we already proved we are worthy of more than an 8 seed, meant to say.
  15. That Hawks team played their hearts out against the Bullets in the next series in 79. Rollins was at his peak. I thought they had them, it was neck and neck with the eventual world champs. Also loved that 96 team. Then went on to play the Bulls team that won it all. Jordan was just getting back in his swing. We actually had them on the ropes, as we figured out that Tony Kukoff could not guard Christian Laetnerr. Laetnerr (only brought on the team as a backup) would back Tony in and get a layup anytime he wanted. It was like watching college Laetneer again. We won game 2 and were on the verge of going ahead in the series in game 3, when the Bulls finally figured out to give up on Kokoff's offense and just play Rodman. Laetneer couldn't get by Rodman and that ended our chance at an upset.
  16. As someone else said, just the fact they are changing anything is a good sign. They couldn't change their plan and prepare with 17 days notice. It's very hard to implement a new defense and get the communication down in just 2 days. Keep panicking and tinkering Indy.
  17. I'm ready to jump on the Coach Bud bandwagon. Obviously, he has the guys believing in his system. One of the biggest battles for a coach in today's world of athletes running the coaches.
  18. I like the writer that compared us to the 1999 Knicks. The ones that gelled at the right time and ran us out of the playoffs despite being much lower seeded because we had no answer for the speed of Sprewell. Teague can do the same thing all series long to the Pacers. They have no answer other than injure him.
  19. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2031223-gary-payton-chris-paul-no-1-point-guard-takes-dig-at-stephen-curry?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=programming-national Agree? And that Teague isn't on his list?
  20. Every time this topic comes up I remember playing the Celts in the playoffs in the 80s and having one of the Boston guards get tangled up with Nique and the ball come loose. Nique dove to get the ball, was laying on the ground looking to pass and Larry Bird came over stepped on his stomach, ripped the ball loose, passed up court. No call. That's when I gave up on the Hawks ever getting a fair shake from the officials.

  22. I always personally liked Bibby, and he was a step up from the previous disasters at PG, but I thought at that point of his career he was more suited for coming in for specific runs. Didn't have young enough legs to play 40 minutes.
  23. Just want to weigh in that I certainly don't hate or even dislike Teague. I think he is a vast improvement over what we had the 4 or 5 years previous to him starting. I also, don't question Ferry's ability as I do the owner's directives to Ferry. I don't want to see them totally handcuff him.If Muscala shows some ability and improvement this year, I would take that as encouragement for next year. I don't expect him or any move the ASG allows to affect this losing streak.
