  1. I'm pretty sure the NBA doesn't allow its owners to own other sports teams. Hence Stan Kroenke having to sell the Nuggets to his son.
  2. Couldn't disagree any more. Ive only bet 12 games this season and I am currently 10-2! If you think its unpredictable then just take points and you will win when the unexpected happens. But yeah... this line looks seriously out of whack. The Hornets have a PG that will go nuts. The Hornets have a shotblocker and the Hawks too often will settle for long jumpers instead of taking it to the hole to draw contact. THey have a PF who can shoot from outside to help draw Josh Smith away from the basket. Jason Collins is likely to play real minutes. This just seems like a very tough spot for the Hawks.
  3. If Jeff Teague is your biggest disappointment then you had wildly unrealistic expectations of what Jeff Teague would do this season.
  4. This really seems like a bad matchup for the Hawks to me. I don't see this game going well. I don't think that I'll personally put any money down against the Hawks (Hawks are favored by 4.5...) but I think I'll recommend to my friends that they do.
  5. You can't really believe this... I'm really not sure that Denver would trade Billups for that.
  6. If a guy is feuding with a coach then I could see speculating that he is faking an injury. IF he were tryign to force a trade then I can see it. But seriously... other than blind hatred what possible reason do people have for thinking he would fake it?
  7. Please tell me you are joking. I've hurt my back playing tennis where there was no fall at all. I won the match and just felt a little sore afterward like I needed to do some stretching. Then I couldn't even walk the next day when I woke up to play the next round of playoffs. It would have been ridiculous to do surgery- then it was just a matter of waiting for my back to feel better. Looking at a tape and deciding that someone isn't having back issues just because you hate them is absolutely ridiculous.
  8. His team in france wasn't particularly good, hist stats were bad, and his didn't think he was good enough to start. No other team thought it was worth flying over to workout. I'd need to see a whole lot more before I would be anything close to a "believer".
  9. I said at the time I would have taken Dejuan Blair and I still think that was the right pick. Once Blair showed how dumb other teams were for passing on him then he could have easily be flipped for many pointguards who are huge upgrades. Drafting for need that late in the draft is a massive mistake in my opinion.
  10. Seriously? Look at how many busts there are in the first round... I think its pretty ridiculous to think that just because a scout liked someone that the default assumption is that they are a good player. I had no reason to think that Sy was a good player when the Hawks drafted him. He hasn't given me any reason since then to make me reassess that.
  11. I guess I don't get the reason for the blind faith. I didn't have any reason to think he was a good player before, I don't have any reason to believe he is a good player now. I'll keep an open mind but I don't see now its possible for anyone to be a "believer".
  12. Probably because there is no urgency. They are very likely to be the #5 seed in the playoffs.
  13. Its pretty likely the Bulls will be the Hawks first round opponents. I'd imagine the bulls would be favored in that series. If you really are tired of the Bulls being talked about as contenders while the Hawks are not then that will be your chance to make some money off of it.
  14. Those are ridiculous offers for Nash. They wouldn't trade Vince Carter for Marvin/Mo.
  15. I have been saying for a while to trade him for Billups. (Without doing the math I think they could include teague and remain under the luxury tax) But with Billups going to the nets thats out the door.
  16. I'd think that people would be more interested in figuring out a way to get Devin Harris from Denver if the trade goes through with the nets. They don't have use for him because they want to build around Lawson.
  17. Denver made it to the conference finals 2 seasons ago... how does that not count as "recently"? As far as media attention goes- media just likes the story. And superstars make it easy to write a story. THe Hawks have no superstar and its far more likely that they lose in the first round than they make the conference finals. Why should they get any national attention? Even Hawks fans understand its more likely that they lose in the first round than they make the conference finals.
  18. Indiana is the team I'd worry about. It seems to me like they would be a great fit for Crawford.
  19. Uhhh... might want to check your facts there.... But one out of 3 isn't bad.
  20. The Hawks won't pay the luxury tax to keep him, and they won't know what the rules of the luxury tax will be until after the lockout is over.
  21. BIllups won't get bought out- he has 2 years left on his contract and there is no way Billups is going to leave a ton of money on the table. And I do think that he will get traded. If Denver is rebuilding then they should make Lawson their starting PG. If The ASG were willing to pay the luxury tax I'd trade Crawford for Billups in a heartbeat.
  22. You seriously think that Calderon is worth anything close to Nash in a trade. I don't know how to even start trying to explain how delusional you are.
  23. You can't really believe that.
  24. I'd rather the team give 10 day contracts to young guys and see if one of them can develop.
